I use Steam and Origin for FPS games. ex: Battlefield3 Counterstrike.
Yes, mainly Steam. Steam in particular is doing everything right as far as digital distribution: fast delivery, great functionality (e.g. gifting is simple / logical), and awesome sales/prices.
I use Steam a lot because I love the convenience of digitally downloading all of my games and having them organized in one place. I also have Origin installed because I was a fool and bought SimCity. I never use it now.
I have Steam. I use it for Civilization V. I like having my achievements and statistics and things all in one place. Its also convenient for purchasing new content and new games. I like WoW better.
I use Steam and Origin for FPS games.
I use steam because it provides easy access to my large library of games and keeps my desktop icons to a minimum.
I don't use it but my husband used to... mostly it's just WoW for us
I've used Steam a couple of times, yes. n_n
i have a steam account, but i dont generally use it. WoW usually fills my idle time when not working.
I have used (and still use) steam, curse client (if you consider it a dds), the blizzard store, xbox live as well as playstation stores, and a few music/movie/tv show ones that I don't use frequently enough to name. Reasons in general being;-Ease of access-No worry of misplacing or destroying physical components-Saves physical space-No need to travel-Quick and efficient (compared to travel time/delivery time especially...no back ordering near holidays either)-Prices generally cheaper than their in store counterparts-Open all hours of the day, any day...excluding maintenance/updatesReasons for Steam specifically apart from the aforementioned;-It's more than just a hub to download games, you have forums, gaming news, friends lists, profiles, etc. (which some others do, but none I've come across do so as well as Steam)-All of your games can be brought up from a single page without prior arranging file placements (the ones you've downloaded from them, anyway)-The searching for specific games or by genre is much quicker than flipping through all the bins and shelves at a store due to the easy to use menus and search bar-They advertise games I'd probably not hear about otherwise -Simplicity a child could cope withSteam also has an interesting and memorable name. It along with the icon remind me of steam-punk culture, which is hardly relevant in a meaningful way. However, names of services and programs help to draw in people, and Steam seems much more imaginative than the Sony/Microsoft equivalents. That is about the most succinct summation I can currently type as to why I use them. Hopefully this helps/sort of answers what marketing was looking for.
Yes, I do use Steam, but I don't buy new games too often since WoW and Starcraft II usually fill my gaming time. I also got all my Blizzard games from digital download and eventually end up getting something from PSN. The main reasons would be for convenience, as I don't have to go to a store and can do it from my computer, and also for fast access to the games that would take some time to arrive if I pre-ordered the non-digital version.
No, i don't use Steam or any other digital download services, i like to physically hold the games i buy.
Yes, I use Steam to play together with my friends games like TF2 or CSS.
Yes, I use Steam fairly regularly. I prefer to download my games rather than buy a copy at the store, because it doesn't take up any space (physical space, that is). Also, I can purchase the games through Steam but I don't have to install them right away, so if I have multiple games, I can install one at a time so it doesn't take up a crazy amount of space. The game choice on Steam is also really good. :)
We sure do use steam. Having Macintosh computers means we often need to use steam to play some games. We are big fans of the steam convenience and experience.
Steam is the only one. Almost anything that I play that isn't WoW is on steam.
