Yes, I use steam, it's great for easily buying and accessing games for a nice price with many sales providing a huge variety of cheap games while also allowing for chat with friends. It's also nice to have them downloaded so that I can play my games anywhere and don't need a disk to play them. Remember when you would scratch your favourite game disk? - 'ROOOOOARRR!' just a shame they haven't fully implemented WoW into it :D work on that please, spread the joy! :)Thanks for the opportunity, very happy with this site, especially having hit 1000 reputation and been a proud member for a year now! :) Cheers!
I do not use either, maybe i should try it :p
I usually use steam, its a good form to buy games and play in various computers.
Yes, I use Steam for all my PC games. It's just so nice to have access to all my games in one client at any time. Also, the deals that Steam does are incredible.
Yes I use Steam as I consider it an excellent plattform to buy games and play and communicate with friends in these games that either I buy myself or that I buy with my friends.
I don't play any other computer games, other than WOW and a little Diablo. I used Steam back when Half Life 2 came out and I found it to be clunky, eat up a lot of my memory on my computer and needlessly choke bandwidth all the time, even when I wasn't using their services. I am sure things are better now since technology has to be inherently better, plus the cloud is so prevalent in today's gaming society compared to 10 years back. As of right now I am not playing any Steam games, but I am sure one day I will have to rely on a Steam/cloud type service to play games, I just haven't joined in on the bandwagon... yet.
No WoW is enough for me
Let's try
I use steam to everything. i usaly add non steam games such as wow so i can talk with poeple there asweel.
I don't not use them. The only game I really play is WoW.
I used Steam once, to buy Civilization 5, because it was $25 cheaper than Best-buy/Walmart/Amazon. Personally, I'd rather not have to go through a digital distribution client, but the savings made it appealing in that case.
Steam (Civ 5 and KOTOR) and what's the one needed for SWTOR? Origins Online I think. Although I haven't logged into my Windows partition in almost forever. Oh, I nearly forgot. gog.com (is that right?) for TL2.Cheers.
I use neither of those services.
I've used Gamefly once and haven't been back, though I still get news updates from them. I use Steam maybe about once a month - usually when the WoW servers *and* the PTR are all offline. That gives me a little more time in Skyrim, but that's about it. I go back because I like the place and there are still a lot of side quests to do. However, Azeroth is my 'home', so to speak. When I grow old and my mind begins to wander, if it can't wander in Middle Earth, then I'd want it to wander the wilds of Azeroth.
I have Steam but its at a low priority. Right now my gaming priorities are1) WoW 2) XBox 3) SteamI only use Steam for PC only games, I really try not to get games that I could get on my Xbox as I prefer that type of playing.
choo choo, steam all the way baby!
I only just learned what Steam is, and while it sounds like a user friendly service for those heavy into gaming (and other software according to Wikipedia) I do have some trust issues as it relates to downloading content onto my machine. Ultimately I prefer to be in complete control over what finds its way into my computer and I find that if I want to try a new game, I'm going to a retail store to buy 'the box', up to and including WoW.
I'm up to 4 now with some recent DDL purchases I've made. These game/store apps are multiplying on my computer like gremlins hanging out at the pool.Steam - It's Steam, it launches on it's own whenever I start a game I bought through them. I don't use Steam so much as it forces itself on me. Though I like them as a company, what they've done for the industry in helping usher in the age of DDL content with great savings to it's customers, etc... So bravo to them on that, but in reality I'm completely indifferent towards using their app/store for all the other things it offers and I barely even acknowledge it except for closing it separately after I'm done playing. GameFly - I don't subscribe to their rental/online game service, but I bought 2 games through them that required me to install their application/store/portal thing. I launch those games from a shortcut on my desktop and don't have to go through it's app in order to play. I like that. GameStop - Same thing as GameFly, required me to download/install their app except after taking my payment they then gave me a number to activate/download my game over at Steam... Reminded me of my GameStop hatred way back in my console playing days.Orgin - I bought BF3 recently because 2 RL friends only play BF3. This application is annoying. After opening the app and hitting play game, it in turn opens up a web page with more buttons, ads, options and I'm required to hit play again in order for the game to finally launch. I'm sure there's a workaround, but by default it's annoying.I'd really like to only use these applications for simple PoS/download means and avoid any extra interference they put out there keeping me from playing my games.
