Professions and working for a living - nerfing has issues

You might not, but a large number of players do; Mining, Blacksmithing and Engineering are still the most tedious professions in WoW to level.
I would like you to please add Leatherworking to that list, as IMHO it is the worst of them all.
Cheers.

I also enjoy server hoping; so having a new way to get up some professions is nice.
Sorry, can't resist. But what are you 'hoping' for in a new server :)
Cheers.

Add it to your own list; I've never had an issue with leveling leatherworking.

Really? The amount of leather needed far outstrips what you get along the way, and you've got to spend hours skinning more stuff for each type of leather. I don't have the same problems with the Mining based professions.
Cheers.

With the gathering perk from Guilds, it's a breeze to get leather; for Mists stuff while farming for 20 Mushan Ribs I've gotten 100+ in next to no time.
Really, gathering leather is easy as long as you know the good spots.

Ahh.. I'm talking about lower levels - Knothide leather was a real grind.
Cheers.

I resolved the leather issue by having 6 main professionals and the rest of the alts all take Skinning. I mean heck, you're killing the beasts to quest anyway, might as well skin them.

It's not the variety. It's not even where to find the leather -- it's the time skinning so many.
It's tedious.
Funny, Adamsm that you think Blacksmithing is a chore to level, but skinning is a breeze.

Because it is; especially in Nagrand: Just follow anyone doing the Animal Mastery quest. Same thing for lots of the other leathers, when it's not simpler to run into an instance and skin to your heart's content. And really, since most classes can just gather stuff up and AoE them down, you can get more per skinning then you ever with with mining or herbing.
With Blacksmithing? Not so much; the Fel Iron slog is the worst followed by the Cobalt one.

I know exactly where to farm it. It just takes a long time doing it, away from normal questing.
And, BTW, I'm not crazy. Tons of people on the main forums said that they wanted the BS way of leveling LW because it was the worst.
Cheers.

Never said you were crazy, just saying Knothide is one of the easiest to get, since it drops from pretty much every single mob in Outland, and there are two prime farm spots in Underbog and the Black Morass that have no competition.
And I remember back in BC itself, walked away from the Animal Mastery quests with an 18 slot bag full of leather at the end.

And Fel Iron Ore and Cobalt Ore are easy to get because there are nodes all over Hellfire Penninsula and Howling Fjord respectively.
See what I did there?
Cheers.

There may be nodes all over the place in the first zones...but it still has a ^&*! spawn time, and seems to enjoy only appearing in one to two places compared to the 10 to 15 spawn points it has.
Can't really compare it when it is incredibly easy to get the Knothide, especially with the sheer number of kill animal quests in Hellfire, Terokkar, Nagrand, Blades Edge and Shadowmoon Valley.

That only happens when you mine at level. Once you're past the level the nodes appear again.
Raised 3 toons as miners, and seen it like that for three years now. So when I leveled another miner in Cata, got a level 85 maxed miner to check for nodes...went by without a glitch.

Yay. Nice. I didn't even think about Fishing as tedious. After all, they increased the rate at which it levels, and it also has dailies.
Cheers.

I wouldn't really call it being "dumbed down". That implies that you had to have some kind of knowledge to level it in the first place. And that just doesn't seem true to me. It's mainly "gather these material, make this item until it turns grey, learn new skills and repeat".

My point was that many players have spent many hours (if not months) working on their beloved characters proffesions and i thought it might be nice if Blizzard could give them a little bit of recognition in a game that is currently being dumbed down to make it easier for the masses :/
How can you dumb down something that was already stupidly tedious to level? All they've done is streamline it so if you choose to, you don't have to run all over creation gathering ore then sitting in a city for hours making stuff.
Now you can just sit for hours after buying stuff of the AH...oh no wait, people do that now, but just for one type of ore rather then a few dozen.
