The Moon Fight
A total stranger picks a fight with you in a bar. This stranger is exactly your size and weight. You have done nothing to this individual to warrant such animosity, but the stranger really wants to fight you. And to make matters weirder, this stranger wants to fight you on the moon (and this is somehow possible). You and this stranger will be transported to the surface of the moon, outfitted in ultra-thin (and very comfortable) space suits, and rigged with lightweight oxygen tanks. You will then be expected to fight for 10 three-minute rounds. You can't use weapons, there are no rules, and you cannot quit (unless you or your opponent are knocked unconscious).
Do you accept this challenge? And -- if yes -- what is your moon-fighting strategy?
Sure. I'll just puncture his suit with a moon rock and laugh as he asphyxiates. If I can't do that, just break his suit in some way.

Actually, one of the early designs for the space suit was basically
skin tight
and self-repairing (or the material would adhere to itself if torn slightly). Its only damage to the helmet or breathing apparatus that'd be dangerous.
Anyway, I'd decline the fight due to the immense expenditure, risk and time involved.

The Countdown
You are presented with a strange challenge: someone dares you to count backward from 300 to 0. If you succeed at this simple request, you will be given $25,000 in cash. However, if you misspeak (or even stutter), get any digit incorrect, or make any mistake whatsoever, you will immediately be doused with gasoline and burned alive.
Do you attempt this challenge?

Nope, the risk-reward is way off.

Tried it myself and said at 199 instead of 299, damn being up for 30 hours without being able to sleep. i would have been burned on the second number i said. I doubt I would have taken the challenge anyway, $25,000 is no where near enough. If i was going to take a risk for some money there's plenty of less risky things you could do to get more money than that.

The Price of Sex Appeal
You meet a wizard in downtown Chicago. The wizard tells you he can make you more attractive if you pay him money. When you ask how this process works, the wizard points to a random person on the street. You look at this random stranger. The wizard says, "I will now make him one dollar more attractive." He waves his magic wand. Ostensibly, this person does not change at all; as far as you can tell, nothing is different. But -- somehow -- this person is suddenly a little more appealing. The tangible difference is invisible to the naked eye, but you can't deny that this person is vaguely sexier. This wizard has a weird rule, though -- you can only pay him once. You can't keep giving him money until you're satisfied. You can only pay him one lump sum up front.
How much cash do you give the wizard?

I'd ask the wizard to give me value of all the money currently flowing through the U.S. economy, drawn directly from the U.S. economy. I would proceed to burn this money while looking like the ugliest %^&*er ever.
Am I doing it right?

I'd skip the countdown and thus I have no dollars to give the wizard. :o

If I could really tell- 100%- that there had been an actual change in the attractiveness of the person, and it wasn't so subtle that it might have been just me reacting to the suggestion that it would make him more attractive (though, to be fair, I imagine that since I'd be highly skeptical, I'd be more likely to mentally discount a real change as fictitious than to perceive a change where there was one), I would do it as long as I could ask a couple of questions about it first. I would have to know that it was permanent and not a temporary thing, if there were any side affects that would come as a result (other than the naturally occurring side effects of being more attractive). If it were permanent, and there were no horrible curses or soul-removals that were bundled in with the deal, and I was pretty confident he was actually a wizard and not just a lunatic, I'd probably give him like 100 bucks. Enough to have a real impact, not enough to break the bank.

I've always gone with the assumption that this Wizard is real and is known to provide this service with satisfactory results. A dollar was just not enough to see a significant change. So, I think I'd do $10,000 just to make sure I'm happy with the results. lol - I may have over paid by as much as $8,000. I'll never know, but it's not worth the risk when I don't get a second opportunity. hehe.

I figure it this way- if the person was noticeably changed- even just a bit- by a dollar, then how much you'd pay would be a refection of what kind of increments of attractiveness we're talking about. If a noticeable, if small, change was a dollar, then 100 dollars would most likely be a significant change. It might not make you amazing, but it would be a significant improvement. If I had a better idea of HOW much better the person looked to me after this test, it would help me gauge the denomination. But on the spur of the moment, I would most likely not do more than $100, and even after careful consideration, probably not more than $200. My fiancee already thinks that I am very attractive, and makes a habit of letting me know that pretty regularly, and so any change would maybe help in marketing and sales, and maybe earn me a few random compliments that will occasionally boost my mood, but I don't see the change as anything life-altering, and I don't think I'd spend more on it than that. If I were single, then maybe I'd pay more.

Body vs Mind
You are given a choice between two rewards. The first reward is to be twice as intelligent as you are right now -- you will be able to read twice as fast and remember twice as much, the size of your vocabulary will double, and you'll be able to solve intellectual problems with twice your current aptitude. The second reward is that you will never again feel sick (even when you are) and you can always be whatever weight you want, regardless of what you eat or how little you exercise -- you can simply imagine the body you would like to have and that is the weight you will magically become.
Which reward do you choose?

I'd go for Body. I feel like I'm smart enough as it is, and the Body aspect would help reduce health issues that would help to enhance my longevity of life, which is more important than an incremental increase in my problem solving ability.

If you're so smart... you could double those smarts and create a way to magically lose weight. Boo-yah!

Or, you'd give up looking because you're smart enough to realise magic isn't real :P

If you literally doubled intelligence even someone who started with an abnormally low intelligence would become a genius by any standard measure. Doubling the intelligence of someone who already was fairly intelligent to begin with and you end up with what's probably one of the most intelligent humans to have ever lived. With that in mind (huehue) I'd pick Mind and then probably go into science and research something I felt passionate about. Put it to good use and all that.
