"That's not true, Rotha," Gurka cautioned sternly. "You and her are two completely different people. I won't let you take yourself down that path of self-loathing. Not without kicking and screaming the whole way beside you."

"You're not going to do this to me, Rotha," Gurka answered tersely. "You are not your mother, and they only way that you could ever end up like her is if you choose to..." she warned, but after a moment changed her tone and let out a breath. "Let's get something to eat and we can talk about this. I really don't want to get all wound up again. I'm %$#@ing tired."

"Ours?" Vashadya inquired, looking to the elder priestess for clarification.

"Rotha," Gurka sighed, sitting back down in her chair. "I watched your mother drown in her anger and sorrow and bitterness, and was unable to do anything. If anything, I only made it worse. I spent years blaming myself and telling myself that if I had done something different, then maybe it might not have happened the way it did," she paused. "That's why I have to do my best to see to it that you are not devoured by the same internal monster. I have to believe that you are different from her, and that you have it within you to succeed where she failed. To watch it all happen again would surely sap away the last strength I have left," she stopped, trying to give a reassuring smile. "So don't be so bleak, please, for my sake. If you don't have it in you to believe in your own power over your own fate, then at least believe in me, that I won't let you fall into that pit while I have an ounce of strength left. Together, we will accomplish what we set out to do. We're too damned determined to give up now."
Dag'rema listened to Gurka's impromptu pep talk disinterestedly as she sipped from the glass that Tilirion had given her.

Vashadya followed the elder priestess. She hoped Rotha and Gurka had had time to rest.

Gurka listened to Rotha, giving a slight nod, and then looked up to see Vashadya and Adalis at the door.
"You know, it's funny..." she stated, looking over at Dag'rema. "This is the second time I've ever visited Darnassus. The last time I was here, it was to kill Dag'rema for good..." she paused, noting the warlock's begrudging reaction. "It feels like so long ago, but here I am again, and this time it's my friend Nightbane who we have to kill for good..."
She gave a somber sigh. "Rotha, I knew your mother well, and it hurts me so much to live with what happened to her, but I know that you are different. I know that your fate will be different," she said, gently stroking the worg's head. "You don't have nearly as much pain or hate inside you, for one thing. And where I pushed her towards her fate, even without realizing it, I am wiser now. I can keep you from that fate, and were it to cost me even my life, I will."
She turned to Dag'rema. "Your fate will be different, as well. I can see it. I don't know what choices you will make, or where they will lead you, but the Dag'rema Blackheart who I killed once will live no more in this world. I hope that you will live a happy life, and that our actions will have spared you the pain and despair that fostered such great hate in her heart."
Dag'rema didn't reply, but her expression was cautious and skeptical, which was a step up from the callous spitefulness that Gurka had come to associate with her.

"Oftentimes war chooses us, not us it," Vashadya spoke. "If you deny Adalis entrance, then you must also deny myself and many others of our kind."

Vashadya looked between the two uncertainly. She sought to assuage the ancient, "I can handle it Adalis."

What exactly Vashadya awaited she herself was not entirely sure, yet the night elf could not in politeness maneuver her way through with the two ancients so in the way.
"Sisters?"

"Throm'ka, Vashadya," Gurka greeted pleasantly, despite the weariness that etched her face. "How have you been?"
