"I can appreciate that," Snowmane answered, looking at her right paw.

Gurka growled, frustrated and feeling helpless. Finally she approached the bowl and looked into it.

The mage rose to his feet. "Then we'd best hurry."
"Ah, befah ya go bruddah," Samdi interposed, slinging an arm about the amge's shoulders. "Ya mind doin' ol' Samdi a favah? Dere be dis new kinda fork I be hearin' 'bout in Dalaran. It be some kinda...mechanical t'ing, engine powered dat spins 'round at a click a da button. Ah'd be in y debt if'n ya picked somet'ing like dat up."
"You need...a mechanical fork?" the mage asked in no small surprise.
The troll chuckled. "Mon, what I be needin' a fork for? But," he suddenly added, leaning in clsoe, "can ya imagine dat? A mechanical fork? Someding like dat...who'd t'ink ah someding like dat? It be so..." the troll shuddered as though the mere thought gave him pleasure. "...modern."
Feeling indebted to the troll, and far too polite to make any observations, Varyn nodded slowly and endeavoured to slip out of the troll's arm. "I'll um...I'll be sure to look for it when...ah...when I have sufficient opportunity. Ready to go?" he asked, turning back to the worgen.

Several lines of white chalked slowly took form beneath Damocles's watchful eye. Round and round, narrowing ripples of circles spread out, a square cutting through them all took shape upon the wood of a Booty Bay street. Any who looked his way were met with a dark eye that encouraged no questions before it was turned to a small diagram the coated agent held for reference.
Once done his drawing, Damocles began to carefully place a crystal at the four corners of the square.

"Then best to waste no more time." Varyn turned to Samdi and bowed fractionally. "Thank you, Samdi, for all your help. I won't forget this. Or your...ah...fork..."
Laughing dismissively, the troll waved a three fingered hand cheerily. "No trouble mon. None at all. Anyt'ing for ya, me bruddah."
The mage smiled in genuine affection at the troll. He said no more on the matter, instead moving through the hidden door and quickly crossing the shop floor and entering the street. Sea air filled his lungs replacing the sweet smell of the incense. Blinking, he shaded his eyes with an arm, peering at the golden eye of the southern sun.
"A new day," he found himself saying, though he hesitated afterwards, wondering what came over which compelled the sudden bout.

The mage only nodded and turned towards the docks, moving through the narrow streets, footsteps reverberating against the wooden planks.

The particular vessel they were looking for was not hard to find amongst the forest of sails and ships which congregated about the harbour. Sleek and narrower than your average ship, its figurehead consumed the whole front of the ship; an eagel made of steel, its wings stretching back across the bow in a shield, curling forward along the keel to form a spike beneath the waters. It stood out like a knight amongst peasants, glittering in the sun with magnificence, awaiting its voyage into the depths of icy Northrend.
A plank sat upon the deck, inclining up to the ship proper.
"I'll ah...negotiate our fare," Varyn said, inclining his head towards a stately figure who stood nearby the ship, the thick coat thrown over his shoulders to be buttoned at a moments notice marking him a member of the crew; an influential one considering the powdered wig and admirals hat he wore.

As they approached, the captain caught them in his eye. He did nothing, though watching them all the while, merely continuing on a discussion with a loading boy until the arrived. Varyn waited in respectful silence for the man to finish speaking; and once he had and dismissed the boy, turned to mage and worgen, one eye peering at them as though through a telescope.
"Aye," the man began, pulling a corn cob pipe from his lips. "And what would the both of you like? Last minute cargo? Or letters, perhaps, to be sent to the Northlands."

The captain eyed the oddly coloured worgen with mild interest. He pulled the corn cob pipe from his mouth to speak, returning it immediately once finished. "Venture Bay, what's left of it at any rate."

The captain slowly chewed on the end of his pipe, looking both mages up and down slowly. Both appeared able, if not terribly battle worn, and even after the Lich king, Northrend bore many dangers, not to mention the sea between the two ports. Tilting his head to the side, the wigged sailor slowly removed the pipe from his mouth.
"...Twelve gold, each, and you can come along."
Quickly digging into a pocket, Varyn provided the requisite coins. After carefully counting out the shining metals, emblazoned with the king's face, the man curled his fingers tightly over them and nodded to the plank. "If you can find room in the hold, you can stay there. We aren't a passenger line, after all."
"That wasn't too bad," Varyn said as he mounted the plank.

"Could have been worse," Snowmane agreed, following Varyn up the plank. "I suppose we should get below deck and try to find a spot to stay. It's gonna be a few days voyage, I imagine."

Varyn nodded as he stepped onto the ship. "Most likely."
The entrance to the cargo hold was found in a small door at the end of a large indentation in the ship mid, a structural necessity as neither areas fore or aft could suffer small dimension. Varyn opened the door and wandered in, the light which peeked around him revealing a collection of supplies bound for Northrend, mostly subsisting of salt, oil, and other such materials difficult to produce in the yet untamed continent of the dead.
Through the dim darkness Varyn managed to maneuver to find something of a cubby hole where some supplies had not filled. The collection of blankets, a lamp, and even a small curtain marked it as having played host to travelers before, and as the mage lit the lantern with a whispered spell he examined their new lodgings.
"Is this quite enough?" he asked Snowmane, glancing back in concern.

"I've lived in worse," Snowmane shrugged. "I wonder if we can walk around the deck, or if they'd rather we just stay out of sight."

"I can't imagine they would lest we become underfoot," Varyn replied, adjsuting the blankets into some semblance of order. He straightened and nodded. Wetting his lips, the mage cleared his throat as a sudden realization crept into his mind. "I'll ah..." he picked out one of the rattier blankets. "I'll sleep outside. The ah...space, is a bit small for...for two," he supplied.
