Balah'Amin, Coldpelt
Stormwind City
Balah stepped up to the sleeping Coldpelt, snapping her fingers. "Coldpelt, wake up." She stated.
"Ugh, what?" The hungover Worgen groaned.
"I need your keys."
"On the table." Coldpelt directed, waving a hand in the direction. "Now be quiet."
Balah nodded, heading over and snagging the objects off the table. She held the keyring up, spotting a blue sphere hanging among them before nodding. She gripped them in her hand before heading for the door.

Kef was very hungry. She hesitantly took the bread and sniffed it to make doubly sure it wasn't poisoned, before carefully sliding her bandanna down from her mouth. With a clear view of her face, one could see that she had suffered some severe burns at some point in her life, and was missing several teeth. She carefully chewed the bread and looked up at the man curiously.
"Who..." she started, only to pause and cough. "Who are you?

"He can be like that. Hopefully this time it's not because he has a prank up his sleeve," Turin muttered back. He was about to say something else when first Tyreal made her announcement, then came the distinct sound of Jim moving to let someone else inside.
"It seems that we have arrived just in time!" came a booming voice from the doors. It came from an elf so high he had to crouch so as not to bang his head as he entered, and it seemed surprising he even fit the doorway without getting hopelessly stuck, given how broad his shoulders and how big his belly were.
Now it was evident just who had inspired Turinhil to grow a beard - although his did not even come close to that of the newcomer - thick, braided elaborately and just long enough to reach his waist. One moment it seemed dark blonde, the other steely gray, all depending on the lightning. The elderly elf had a red face - especially red was his prominent nose that looked as if it had been broken in the distant past, once or twice - pale green eyes, bushy eyebrows and a mane of unruly hair kept from falling on his face via a simple, elegant circlet.
The woman that followed him present a contrast so sharp in appearance you could cut bread with it - miniature and frail, with black hair kept in a tight bun and a serious look behind thin-rimmed glasses. She barely reached the tall elf's elbow, and if one were to see her, Girithon and Gulamar in one room, the similarities in their faces would become strikingly obvious.
"Mom's here! Mom's here!" came the cries from the dining room, and the Lothmeril brothers bolted out of it, running to hug the woman. "Hi Uncle Gardariel!" they said in unison before turning back to their mother.
"Well, what have you two broken this time?" she asked with an exaggerated sigh.
"We helped set up the table! Yes we did! Oh and we'll be eating under falling stars!" Girithon told her excitedly.
"And here are my Granddad Gardariel and my Aunt Hitsui," Turin told Selin. "Both work in the Silver Cloud Hospital. Hi Gramps!" he then waved.

"I do believe their suggestion is prudent, now that we've come to at least know each other's names. I don't know about you, but this place is getting on my nerves, and I would much rather found out why," Alexander spoke. Without waiting for the other three to respond, he began to make his way towards the archmage duo. He cupped his hands in front of his mouth to reply to Tallonvar.
"Already, Mister Rennings?" the druid asked. "This close to the edge?"

"An idler," the man replied with the same sincerity. He took out a plastic bottle with water and sipped from it, then offered it to the orc as well.
"I'm only standing here because I'm curious. Though if you're not in a talkative mood, I can understand that," he said with a light shrug.

Sasha nodded. "Yeah, dad does alright; being human helps him I guess. Mom isn't too bad, but I imagine it's still a lot to get used to." She said.
Alana stormed through the door after Evan; hood pulled up over her head, and goggled pulled down over her eyes. Hanging from her left arm was a bag full of tools, instruments, and notepads at varying amounts of remaining use and legibility. "Okay, let's see what we've got." She nodded.

"Kef. Does that mean anything? It is courteous of you to give me your name before I gave you mine. Courtesy for courtesy - I am Candaon Mamertus," the man said. He left the possibility that the name she had introduced herself with could be a fake one unspoken of, and perhaps, so was his.

"Mmm..." Kef murmured, nodding. "You called yourself an idler. What, really, do you do? I don't think I've ever seen a human quite like you before."
She wasn't sure what to think of the man. He had given her bread and water freely, which marked him as kind, but he was still very suspicious, and something felt... off, about him, even for a human. She didn't want to seem suspicious--paranoia can draw even more attention sometimes--but she certainly wasn't going to be letting her guard down around him.

Candaon raised his hand, and the dog that had so far been sniffing at Kef obeyed the silent command, trotting back up to him. The other was still busy devouring the meat.
"I walk the world that's changing too fast for me, spending recklessly the inheritance of my father whom I hated - and who hated me - to amuse myself," he said, scratching the mongrel behind the ears.
"Mostly, I watch the people. Watch them who were made to kill one another spend their days with no war to let out their anger."
He let out a dry chuckle, revealing his teeth - worn and yellow, but still strong, with a couple of golden prosthetic.
"Watching the children who grew up without knowing war, who think it is glory, adventure, fun, is very amusing."

Kef let out a dry chuckle. "You should see Orgrimmar some time. Orcs were made to fight. I'm not sure they realize just how tightly wound they are getting," she replied, pulling her bandana back over her face now that she'd finished eating. "They say those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. If human children grow up thinking war is something to revel in, perhaps our peoples are not so different," she went on, the hint of a smile pulling at her mouth. "Little do they realize just how hideous war can be."

"Hideous? War is as only as hideous as those who fight in it."
Candaon turned his head at a sudden screeching sound. Not far from them two cars failed to pass safely along one another - now the scratches and the dents on them seemed almost a reflection of one another, one car having it on the left doors, the other on the right. The drivers had already climbed out and were enthusiastically shouting at each other. Around the two, a crowd was gathering quite swiftly, further impeding any movement along the street.
"Look at the drivers. Neither will admit he is to blame for the crash - he will huff and puff and try to look bigger and scarier than his opponent. Look at the rubbernecks - they are encouraging them. They are eager to see them fight. They want something to spice the day up - they will be disappointed if the two do not come to blows."

"I may be an orc, but even I can see how pointless and stupid that is," said Kef, shrugging slightly. "There are reasons to kill and reasons to die, but stubbornness and pride are not among them. So many people have been snuffed out for reasons nobody really ever cares to explain. You hear people talk about honor in battle, but in truth, war is always--without fail--accompanied by atrocities. Why then, are so many eager to resume in it? Is it simply in our nature, or is it something we can change?" Suddenly she realized how much she was actually saying. "Ahem, anyway, you would know this city better than I. How would one go about acquiring a few silver for a bed to sleep in and ship fare back to Kalimdor?"

"Come on Sindry!" Leo shouted, jogging along the tarmac towards one of the large hangers and nearly colliding with a passing pigtailed goblin. He paused and gesturing eagerly for the red head.
"It's not like Ulduar's going anywhere," the girl said, following at her own pace.
"But I want that tech! I need it, all of that glorious Titan machinery just waiting to be taken," Leo replied, almost drooling in anticipation.

Nexus' ears perked up as the two passed. Tech? Titan stuff? This could be her big break!
"Hey, uh, I don't suppose ya might be needin' an extraordinarily qualified technomage on yer little trip there?" she asked, nearly running to keep up with the two elves. "No, surely not with those great big, uh, muscles of yours, puddin'. But I could tag along just in case, maybe?"

"It's dangerous for an orc to remain in this city for long, even during the peace treaty. The animosity lies too deep. However, some are not... picky."
Candaon leaned closer, lowering his voice.
"Do warlocks appall you, Kef?"

Kef was grateful that she'd covered her face again, because her cheek reflexively twitched into a snarl at the word before she could suppress it again. Her first thought was to reply yes, because she really didn't want to do any work that involved helping warlocks, but when she thought about it, this might end up helping her dig up some information she needed. Knowledge was paramount to victory.
Besides, if it wasn't anything too nasty, she really did need the money.
"I suppose not," she answered. "At least, not enough to refuse a job."

"I'm not one of them, I just happened to be in a situation like yours, many years ago," Candaon said casually. Though the wording suggested he tried to excuse himself, his tone was as calm as before.
"Everyone who's someone knows they have an inn to themselves - the Slaughtered Lamb. They're left alone, this particular coven - if only because someone has to dirty their hands. As you can guess, not many people are willing to work there. Not because the pay is lousy - oh no, it's no worse than in most self-respecting enterprises.
Think you can handle washing dishes and stirring cauldrons while demons are summoned twelve feet of stone under your feet, Kef?"

While this did sound like a good opportunity to get an ear to the ground as to the goings on in the warlock community, from the sound of it, it would also force her to reveal her disability. She knew there were dark forces looking for her, and a den of warlocks was just the sort of place she'd get recognized in.
"Mmm... I might have a difficult time washing dishes," she replied, using her left arm to slide up her right sleeve. Underneath there was just a stump, ending just above where the elbow would be, and the skin was significantly scarred from a terrible burning.

"No reason," Nexus chuckled. "Moving on. You're going to Ulduar, you said? Always wanted to go, myself. When are we leaving?"
