I agree with the above poster.
The community has policed itself before, Blizzard simply needs to give players the ability to do it once again now that everything is cross server.
Over-reactions aside - the stated fix may even lead to a better analysis of players strengths apart from the gear they are wearing.

The community has policed itself beforeThough that was the self-policing of a rather small and closed community, noobs were noobs, and when you offended someone from a popular guild, you better not show your face around town. I'm exaggerating of course, but this was the downside of these "good old times" that you remember.

Before the Lfd was implimented, i remember trying for hours to try and get a group for the daily heroic quests. every now and then it would take days, especially if occulus was the daily more than one day in a row. i love the dungeon finder. i can get 5 dungeons done in the time it would take to get a group for one the old way. and the raid finder? it may be easy but with the hours i work, its impossible to find someone raiding when i get online. at least i can somewhat experience the content.

The thing is they shouldn't introduce LFR tool in the game, if someone wants to raid then he should make a pugThat's what LFR is anyways....

Guilds will always have a role, especially if Raiders want to experience the 'true' content and not the theme park version of a raid.
Also: if you work multiple shifts that change depending on the week, then yes LFR would be a lot better for you then a guild raid where you may not be able to show up for the raid.
Again, the issue isn't with the tools, it's an issues with the Toolish players that use them.

Yeah...that didn't work out too well in Wrath or BC; even when you put people on ignore/made forum posts that they were ninja's, they could still end up in pug groups.
Also, most people are looking at the old day of Trade finding groups with semi-rose coloured glasses on: In Vanilla, as I played a hunter, I had next to no chance of finding pick up groups. In BC, depending on the time frame, my warlock, warrior and hunter all found issues with getting pick ups, since those classes were seen as 'weak' and not too useful. Wrath; same issue with the hunter still, the DK at times, and the Warrior at other times. But when the original version of LFD showed up, I actually got to play the classes I enjoyed, rather then being forced to pick on I wasn't too fond of just to make sure I could get into groups.
Again: The Tools aren't the problem. The problem is the same as it's always been: The Players.

Do you know why toolish players are the problem? Because they are all from different server. If everyone (or the majority) in the raid was from the same server, the players would hesitate to be jerks as usual or else they would have claimed a bad reputation for their selves on the server they play. On the LFR where nobody knows nobody, doing a jerkish thing would soon be forgotten as long the rest of the players don't know you or they don't have you on their server, they won't remember you or even mention you. So no bad fame or problem for them.
It still happens often enough on my realm. It's kind of...stagnant in terms of courtesy sometimes.

And before i end this, i long back to the days where you knew your realm and they knew you, for good and for bad, you had a reputation, you had people who wanted to group with you even though you just spoke in trade chat, you had mortal enemies who hated your gutts for whatever reason, oh the nostalgia...
Which just goes back to the fact it's the people, not the tools side of the argument.

LFD & LFR Was a BRILLIANT Idea on blizzards part, Shame it got wrecked by the people it was designed to amuse. Pity aint it?Honestly....I rarely have bad LFD groups anymore. And I only ever get the truly horribad LFR groups in the middle of the week. So I guess I just luck out and get the 'good' guys and not the complete tools; of course, if I hit any tools in LFR, I just hit report spam on them so I don't have to listen to their crap while running the instance.

But these are the same people who troll trade chat, go out into the world and gank lowbies for hours on end, and just plain be a massive pain in the ass...but Blizzard does give options on how to deal with them, that a lot of people just plain over look.
I had a guild mate complain about a player they ran with in a group then an hour later then ended up in a group with him again(low level LFD); he was all set to launch into a long winded tirade against this player, and I just told him to put him on ignore or report spam, then he wouldn't see him again. The guildie got a little quiet, then thanked me for the advice.
That's the kind of tool tips we need at the loading screen, to explain to people the ways they have for dealing with the mental midgets of WoW; you would be surprised by the sheer number of people who still don't realize that using Report Spam shuts up an entire account till you log off; yes it means you have hit the report spam each time you log you in, but that's a small price to pay to not listen to the trade Anal Spam starter.
