Are you looking for this?
Rush Order: The Forge
From
Warlords of Draenor: Blacksmithing Overview
The Level 3
The Forge Level 3
unlocks profession missions in 6.1. These reward
Rush Order: The Forge
which instantly completes 5 Blacksmithing Work Orders. Followers with
Blacksmithing
have increased success on these missions.
This is how the Rush Orders work for the building types:
In Patch 6.1, there are new Rush Orders which instantly complete 5 Work Orders.
◾Rush Orders for professions are acquired by completing Profession missions, which require a Level 3 profession building.
◾Rush Orders for all other buildings are purchased with
Garrison Resources
from your Garrison Quartermaster.
◾Buildings without Rush Orders are the Trading Post and Mage Tower.

Ah that explains it, my forge is only level 2 right now, so it needs one more level, thanks.
So after i have been making work orders for my forge, I have collected 1,200 truesteel ingots. I'm looking to craft them into sellable items so I can make gold by selling them on the auction house. I have tried making a few ilvl 640 items but they don't seem to sell. They are listed anywhere from 400 gold to 1,200 gold. I have tried selling them really cheap but no luck. Any ideas?

Are the crafted weapons/armor still a marketable line of products? Stormrage-US they're all under 20-30k for a fully upgraded piece. Hardly seems worth it if you couldn't produce them at that level en masse.

Well yeah, they sell for 20-30k but they are extremely expensive to create in terms of crafting materials.
I just sold a truesteel essence for 2,000 gold but it costs about 1,500 to create.. so that's gold but still not really impressive..
Jesus christ. Blacksmithing sucks. Truesteel essences now sells for 1,000 gold and it costs 1,500 gold to make them... I'm starting to run out of ideas..
The only thing I can think of is to swap my trading post with a barn to collect savage blood to create truesteel essences and sell them... or collect felblight to create might truesteel essences... does anyone know how many savage blood you can create on a daily basis with a level 3 barn?

With the current prices for Savage Blood and Felblight being what they are, it can still be worthwhile to sell fully upgraded armor. Buying these mats and crafting upgrade items to upgrade gear well still net a profit in many cases. Especially in situations where the upgrade items are selling below crafting cost, I tend to buy them up and use them on armor to sell.
Most people don't like to spend money to make more, but as a longtime AH guru, I can say it's a winning strategy. Of course, your success will vary depending on server and competition with fully upgraded gear.

I just tried putting up some of my crafted items ilvl 640 (non-upgraded) for sale on the AH starting with the same price that they would sell to a vendor.... since i have been trying to sell them for weeks for a reasonable price without luck... .. and they ended up selling for 64 gold... absolutely miserable money...

Been trying that as well, I made a neat pair of plate boots that grants strength and critical strike and upgraded them all the way up to ilvl 685, but they don't seem to sell.. It cost me about 3k to make them, and they won't sell for 4k... they won't even sell for 3k...
Any ideas are welcome...

Okay short brief whats you get with every profession at Legion.
Blacksmith
- Craftable armor , Usable sockets BoE , special mounts buffs (like spurs) , Mount (curently Bind on Equip, but possible will be Bind on Pickedup).
Leatherworking
- You craft armor, but can`t use it , 4 different toys BoE , special mount buff , Mount BoP
Tailoring
- Cloaks BoE , you craft armor, but can`t use it , 3 sets of transmog !@#$, BoE , New bag just 24 slots
Jewelcrafting
- Rings BoE with socket , Necks BoE with special effect for every class , Gems BoE , lockpicks (for chests, if you dont have a rogue) , Toy BoE , Special mini-game a-la BeJeweled item bound with achiement and limited use (so you can sell it on AH for achievment farmers)
Alchemy
- New BoP trinket , Potions,Flasks,Transmutes (moneymaking on raiders).
Inscription
- New card trinkets BoE , Toy BoE , Melodies (common fun items, not bound with achievments) , Sockets you can`t use BoE .Runes (moneymaking on Raiders, stronger for personal use) busts damage vs 1 boss per week
Enchanting
- Enchants BoE (possible moneymaking), Toy BoE , 3 pets BoE , Mount BoP .
Engineering
- Helm BoP , Sockets you can`t use BoE , New Robot that needs resources for each summon (battery, no more free Bling5k) , Shotgun with bandages (ranged bandage apply for everyone) .
Mining,Skinning,Herbalism
- same as usual, you get resources (especially BoP Blood of Sargeras, needed in most "epic" recipes). For 1 star recipes you usually need few resources (for example to craft plate pants, you will need ore frome mining, and claws from skining/rare drop on kill), when recipe grow up to 3 stars, you will need only ore, and less then before.
=====
Check what you want, but everything simple.
=====
Blacksmith
- you get your artifact sockets early (at lvl 110 you will get equal from dung-rare npcs), small but boost on start, you can craft your own armor (8 slots!), dismantle on special forge and upgrade up to raid iLVL - good boost longterm before Heroic raids, if mount stays BoE - its good moneymaking, spurs will be useful until Blizzard open sky for flying.
Jewelcrafting
same, you get early strong 3 slot - items for first 2 weeks, gems always will be in demand, so you can gear yourself and make some money.
If you hardcore raider maybe that little boost from Runes from
Inscription
will help you get World 1st kill, otherwise this profession are dead, just pure moneymaking due making cards(vendor gold) and others things(trinkents, runes)for sale.
Alchemy & Engineering
BoP items will be good for first 2 weeks of active playing, but its only 1 slot and soon after that you will find your upgrade, so its another moneymaking profession.
Enchanting
maybe tricky, since on expansion start you change your gear like t-shirt at sunny day, so you always will need new enchants, but you always can buy em at AH, so it mostly moneymaking profession.
You can always buy
Tailoring
cloaks on AH, and don`t need other craft, new bag just 24 slots, so it`s *!@# imho profession for average moneymaking.
Leatherworking
- you will get toys from AH, mount BoP, if you highly want it - i suggest craft in on alt, on other side this profession craft armor for half classes (5\10), so you always can get some gold from crafting.
=====
Personally i stick with
Blacksmith & Jewelcrafting
for long time, and i realise that i will be short on "blood of sargeras" for crafting and can`t "mine" resources without gathering, but i have some alts, who can, and got plenty rarest recipes in game, so won`t drop it.
For fresh paladin I would recommend grab one of this professions and
Mining
.
Thats all, good luck and sorry for my english :)

i managed to sell 2x steelforged essence for about 3k gold each as well as a mighty steelforged essence for 9k... this is reasonable gold... so I think this is definitely the best way of making gold by using my professions... the trick is to way until there are no cheap steelfroged essences on the auction house and then put them up for sale... the only problem is the price of the materials... felblight and savage blood particularily
I sold yet one more mighty steelforged essence for about 8k gold so this is a great way of making gold if I can continue selling them..
well i sold all my mighty steelforged essences.. so thats the best way of making gold with my blacksmithing profession...
So guys, what do you think about secondary professions in legion? are they worth it?
