lol i'm a lock myself...
1. this whole tactic is only usable when you get to fear a rogue as opener... now i ask you and everyone else... how often does that happen? euhm like maybe 1 in every 100 fights?
2. any good rogue won't use CoS when all dots are up, no he'll use it when tacticly he has the most to gain... so mostly when he's already in melee range to not be deathcoiled or howled... again, this whole tactic is only usable when you get to deathcoil him before he gets into melee range...
this may be against a good geared rogue, but he certainly lacked skills...
what if you got poisioned and walk slower? good luck trying to kite him, since you're moving slower as he is...
succubus out? what build are you using?
oh and euh... the rogue didn't use his trinket or WotF against fear or deathcoil?

"Okay,
here
. Since you had to drag armory in."
lol, you expect anyone to believe this when you didnt armory the first time you were asked?to prove thats your rogue post
here
"Just because you don't have good reflexes/internet connection doesn't mean that it's not easy to "jump" forward along with the warrior"
unless he is keyboard turning he can jump jump/turn...turn/land 3
yards back in one fluid motion b/c you can possibly follow suit and then intercept
"So, instead of healing themselves during bubble (the only time you should allow them to be healing) they attack you with 100% attack speed reduction. Just run away and resealth. Then you can open on them
again
."
b/c HoJ and repentance dont effect rogue who are fleeing amirite?
"Haha, go look up the arena representation of restos, then compare it to the representation of ferals and balance (and balance doesn't really win against rogues). Resto is a much more common PvP spec."
dude i just said it....
we arnt arguing resto b/c healers are lost w/o a dps imo, and feral and boomkins are both just as common, so what i said stands: boomkin no, feral yes
"Until the rogue uses Preparation."
b/c frost mages can't
cold snap
?
"
Sometimes
the water elemental might be out, yes, if for some reason you didn't kill it already."
imo the mage will use it right before the ice block, so
most of the time
the elemental will be out
"So just go 2 shot it. Not too hard. You can either restealth or risk bandaging (mage will probably go out early. But you should have gotten some distance anyway.) You should have at least 2 ticks from the bandage and time to restealth."
ok lets think about this, it takes 6 seconds to down an elemental at the avg gear lvl, it takes 6 seconds to get out of combat, and 2 ticks of a bandaid would be 4 seconds so we are talking about the mage being frozen for 16 seconds at least in your scenario, im going to ask you, with blinks CD 15 seconds why would the mage stay frozen for that long? (unless he used ice block right after he blinked which, again, wouldn't happen in this scenario)
"EA? The only things you should have on the mage is Mind Numbing and Crippling posion, which can be put on with a shiv, and Garrote. And only Garrote is an actually a dot."
EA
which you should have on the mage, and if you were a rogue you'd know this
"Shadowstep ring a bell?"
btw thanks for pointing this out, my comparison between blink and cloak was a typo (sry my mind was elsewhere) i meant to compare the cds of shs and blink and my point was that the mage iceblocking wouldn't give enough time for shs to cooldown however the mage culd blink right after the block giving him/her a safe distance from the rogue (and before you say "OMG RESTEALTH LULZ!" within the 6 seconds after you kill the pet, the mage can easily break and hit you with an icelance before blinking

and about youre comments on hunters this should cover them all (since most were repetitious anyway)
cloak
does
remove flare
and as you said with a hunters pet beating on you its near impossible to have vanish work (which was broken a few patches ago and is unfixable in its current form and blizz will be working on it in wotlk as stated in my linked thread which
did
prove something) which makes you comment about vanishing while the hunter is in god mode a rare accomplishment so
IMO THE HUNTER WILL HAVE THE UPPER HAND AND HENCE IS A COUNTER CLASS

i found that the most difficult classes to kill are:
warrs (natural counterparts, was born for it) but im able sometimes to bleed-kite them. it depends on the skill.
resto druids, simply they have all. plate huge heal stealth run fast and immunity to slow. wtf its a f****** slow fight but i can assure u we can kill them.
disci priests, same as druids, they can be slowed but aoe fear is a finger in the a** and they can resist a lot.
for the other classes, there is nobody we cannot kill. simply most of them can resist/trinket out of our CC, and our initial damage burst is often interrupted by something. just be patient, prepare yourself for a long fight. we dont have a 2h weap, so we cant tri-shot anyone. we can multi-shot anyone anyway.
and classes are very far from being balanced. it will never happen.
Post by
Kerminator
The classes are as about as balanced as you can get.
On my lock, Rogues suck, usually wipe the floor with me.
With my Pally, they're pretty easy.
Stoneform
helps.
You win some, lose some.
What there's like 9 classes, 10 different racial abilities, 3 seperate talent trees, there's so many variables that hopefully each fight you lose you learn something. I think I got the numbers right.

ugh i hit a link 2/3 through my post and dont feel like re typing it so i will just summarize
you were loling about my wowforums link saying it helped youre argument=
read between the lines the mage who was agreeing with you had the gramar of a 5 year old and a grand total of 7000 hks (and an arena rating of 1450 to boot! /gasp) and he was being loled at for the rest of the thread.... btw where is that post?
you said somthing about bad reflexes again=
juming back would take 1/2 a second and unless you are synchronised with him then you are sol... reflexes dont really come into play. and no i never said that bleed kiting was impossible just easily counterable
you continued youre argument about feral druids in the high end arena brackets=
considering we were arguing about rogue counters and there are plenty of feral druids in PvP (high end druid specs dont have anything to do with this argument unless there is a 1v1 arena i am unaware of >.>) the reason that there are so many resto druids is the same reason there are so many more Disc priests than shadow priests b/c healers are in high demand, irregardless thats not what we are arguing about
i think you questioned my 6 second reasoning on the elemental=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81uQk5kb0_U
the avg geared rogue beats on the elemental for 4 seconds before he is sheeped the elemental survives with about 35% hp
you said that you would have to wait 2 blink cds for a shs=
45/15=
3
buddy so he can blink 3 times for each of your shs
you said that imp sap beats flare=
only if the hunter dosnt stand in the middle; 10 yard flare radius means that if hes in the center, you cant sap
you made a comment about bm hunters lacking scatter=
imtimidate takes its place though (yea i know longer CD but it does the job)
btw dont try and stunlock hunters when their god mode capable bleed them

This part made me laugh. In the middle of a run-on-sentence with spelling errors you say:
the mage who was agreeing with you had the gramar of a 5 year old there is a difference, Im typing short hand and in my speed to type i missed an m in grammar (my only spelling error as long as you arnt calling my shorthand poor spelling) amd keep changing the subject no one has realized that you cant post on "your" rogue yet
I was just saying that Feral isn't a very good Arena (PvP) spec. Just like Prot. Coincidence? In fact prot paladins can kill rogues. But they don't do well in PvP like Ferals. A rogue going against a feral druid is kind of situational. If you are going to even suggest that prot is as viable as feral for PvP then youre bad
And there are more disc priests as opposed to shadow because disc is superior to shadow for PvP, and . Disc has more survivability, and priests tend to get focused down no matter what the spec is. Holy is more of the healing spec if you compare the two. whats your point? if a priest wants to heal in PvP they go disc, if they want to do damage they go shadow, we arnt arguing healing specs b/c they arnt viable for 1v1, so whats your point? (i swear we just had this conversation about druids find something else to argue)
That video is not very good quality. That mage's UI takes up the whole frigging screen FFS. I can tell the rogue (who was probably low on energy from fighting the mage) was attacking the water elemental from 0:41 to 0:44. 3 seconds. I also saw the rogue had a S2 mace and a dagger (?), possibly a quest item from level 68ish. The rest of his gear looks black, possibly the
reputation blue armor set
. Not exactly "average". he starts beating on the elemental at :40 man but i wont argue that; you can speculate about the gear all you want but we have no idea what hes wearing so we must look at his damage done to the mage... 709 hemo and 469 white is pretty average (its by no means poor) and he had 80 energy when he got off the mage
Where did I say that? Either way, ShS's cooldown is 30 seconds, not 45. I'm beginning to doubt you have a rogue. yea my bad it was late i dont know what i was thinking my bad
Flare has a 10 yard radius. That means if the hunter is standing dead in the middle, the distance from the edge of the flare to the hunter is 5 yards. With only one point in Dirty Tricks the range of Sap is 7 yards. With 2 points in the range is 10 yards. More then enough to sap the hunter inside the flare. pay more attention in your geometry class kid it has a 10yd
radius
and a 20yd
diameter
Intimidate is a 3 second stun. Scatter is 4 seconds. Scatter allows the hunter to get you in a freeze trap -> aimed combo. Intimidate lets the hunter barely get out of melee range with crip poison on him and you have time to ShS or CloS. Intimidate also has twice as long of a CD as Scatter. that 1 less second dosnt prevent the hunter from getting the trap in
Stunlocking only works if you can keep them from casting it long enough to put a good dent in them. Of course trinket screws with this no no no no.... stunlock dosnt prevent
god mode, god mode breaks stunlock so the second you KS youve wasted 5 combo points

goshadstep2lose
but back to my point
since a hunter is one of the most difficult classes to get a drop on (they have flare and track hidden), and when they god mode vanishing wont likely happen since there is a pet beating on you and vanish is broken they have control of the fight and hence have the upper hand
Warriors
can
be bleed kited but it is difficult to say the least and easily countered, and their bleed+their big 2 handers are build for cutting down rogues, and our damage had much less effect on their
40%-50% reduction and if we bleed to avoid this we lose our much needed control of the battle
Frost Mages have more anti-rogue CDs than we have anti-mage cds and because of this we are easily kiteable
Retadins are like warriors without the bleeds but have more CC and a lovely bubble which gives them complete control of the battle
your original QQ commentLast point:
If every class is balanced blah blah blah and every class has a counter... what class is a hard counter to a rogue?
i have listed 6
Post by
goshadstep2lose
i believe rogues need to be nerfed so some classes MAY have a 50% chance to kill one without the help of some1 else.

Yes. Feral is useful in BGs. A good prot paladin is too. But when it comes to arena both specs fall short. And we both know Blizz's stance that the real PvP is arena. again if you think prot pallys are anywhere near as viable in pvp as feral then you are bad
Bestial Wrath has to be casted by the hunter, so stuns do keep him from casting it. it can be cast while stunned... boy the evidence just keeps piling up! BTW where is that post?
It gives you time to CloS it. Possibly shadowstep depending on your latency. considering it dosnt take 3 seconds for the trap to be cast on you after its placed, no you are wrong again
Sure they (healing classes) are. Then can outlast DPS until they wear them down. sure thats why there are so many looking for duels outside org, right? /rolleyes
If you go behind them they can't see you. All you have to do is time your sap for when the flare duration is almost up. With a sap range as long as the radius of the flare, all they have to do is be an inch off center, or the duration of the flare wears out. yea or they could stand in the center, and the rogue is screwed (there is a way around this and its funny how you have absolutly no idea what it is)
Bleed kiting isn't an ability, it's a skill that you have to get to know. And bleeds are not mitigated by armor.Keep trying and I'm sure you'll get it down. i know how to bleed kite
IT IS EASILY COUNTERED
and dude stfu you dont even have a rogue (or one that you are comfortable armorying)
Soft
counter
.
The whole point of rogues is to always be in control. Rogues still have more CC then paladins. All pallies have is a ranged gouge and a 5 points KS on a cooldown.our CC dosnt count for ^&*! once hes bubbled
and if the Ret actually tried to heal he just blew a good amount of mana. Guess thats why instead of healing they take control of the battle, way to help me win the argument btw
Yes, Ferals are common in PvE or around Shatt. But in actual PvP they are not that common. I still don't see why you haven't suggested prot as a counter. because ferals
are
common in PvP (not high end arenas clearly) prot pallys arnt
You actually only listed 5 classestypo clearly And only one is
arguably
a hard counter i guess thats why we are arguing about
all
of them
I linked a rogue that wasnt mine
fixed
