Does anyone know how magic find actually works? I've gotten up to 98% (With a shrine) and not gotten a large amount of magic drops, am I just unlucky?
Should be the same as in D2 - if you would typically see 1% of your drops being magical, then assembling 100% MF will mean you see 2% of your drops being magical. It's a bonus to your base chance.
With that said, in D2 it had diminishing returns (so 200% was not twice as effective as 100%). I think that's not true for D3 but I saw that a long before launch, it could have changed.
That's horrible, guess I should stop stacking it then, :(

Stack xp items. It will help you a lot, especially at low levels. And vitality. Stack so much vitality.

These are my stats so far.
They'll be better once I migrate from MF to better stats, obviously. I've had low health for a while, because I haven't found many Vit/MF items, but I seem to be doing fine (For Normal at least, I know in later difficulties I will have to gear right). Once I switched to the Dodge rune for Fist of Lightning, I've noticed that I've been doing a lot better too. I will try to keep an eye out for items with Dex/Vit or Exp (Or all three, if I'm lucky!). Although I'm not sure what constitutes as low levels, considering the game is less than a week old, so I'm not sure if +exp items are of any use to me right now.

So I'm getting D3 through digital download, and right now its "updating setup files". Does this normally take a while? Because it seems to me that the progress bar isn't moving, and if it is moving its going really slow.

Anybody else getting the "Video card not supported"? In my house we have two desktops (PC) and a laptop. On both desktops which are both newer, one within 18 months and the other within 9 months and are both different makers and have different video cards as well, get this error. I'm tempted to drag out the laptop but as its about 2 years old I doubt it will work.
I just think Blizzard should have thought this out a little more. Their list of unsupported cards for D3 is quite extensive.
Edit: Neither computer is a "gaming" computer but have had no problems with any other game.

Not trying to be offensive here but I assume that you have attempted to update your video drivers to see if that fixes it?

I also am unable to feasibly play it on satalitte internet. Can't play a game, by myself, without an internet connection with less latency. Pisses me off.

What video cards? D3 isn't that restrictive, the unsupported cards all look older than the PCs you're talking about. So maybe your machines just have Intel GMA, which would be the problem.
One is Intel something or other (too lazy to go look) The other is Nvidia GeForce w/ Cuda (I'd get you the numbers but man I am tired lol.)
Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset - Operating System: Windows 7 Service Pack 1
Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 - Operating System: Windows 7 Service Pack 1
