September 11th. Not just at what happened itself. But that day I had arrived at school still "in the blue." I hadn't seen tv and no one had mentioned it. Until I was at my locker, and someone brought it up. I was in 7th grade. When we got to our 1st hour the teacher had turned on the television to the news so we could watch was going on. About 15 minutes later (if that) an announcement came over the intercom commanding teachers to switch off the tvs. Apparently the principal caught wind of the majority of teachers playing the news and thought it was something that no 6th, 7th or 8th grader in the school could handle. Mind you, no one was forced to watch it. Teachers were even letting students study or read quietly in the hall if they so chose. No one was rambunctious or out of line. Everyone for probably the only time ever was focused and quiet. I just remember thinking how unfair it was that this was happening to OUR country and yet we weren't allowed to follow the news on it.

Outraged? When Mum told me that Maccas had finished breakfast at 10am (she didn't want us to go), when I knew they finished up at 10:30am.
Morally outraged? When I got in trouble from Dad, because my younger brother was bawling his eyes out, because I turned the TV off to get him ready for school in the morning.

#100 What's your favorite song that no one else knows about? One that you consider pretty obscure, or that maybe you heard once and looked up, but otherwise would have never heard it or known what it was. Maybe it's someone who was never officially published, or a person who was a one-hit-wonder but whose other work you like. (P.S. No debating "But EVERYONE has heard of THAT song- if you have heard of it, it may be that the person posting it just travels in different musical circles than you do.)
I have 2, actually:
Car Crash
The General
EDIT: You guys jump in too fast- lol. I didn't even get to write my post. Also, no sound at work but since those videos had the correct written lyrics, I will assume that they're playing the right songs, and it's not the Gummy Bear song or something.

A friend of mine was in a hard rock band and he gave me a copy of their demo CD one time. It was really amazing! Unfortunately none of the songs are on Youtube (although I could probably make a video and upload it), so I'll share another, less-obscure song.
Grinning Mouths
by Isis is my favourite song of all time. While Isis are the foremost band in the post-metal movement, it's hardly a very well-known movement. They've certainly never been on the singles or album charts.
I want this song played at my funeral, to accomapany the customary photographic slideshow.

Okay so I made the video
.
Not as mind-blowing as the last song I linked, but it is only a demo recording by a bunch of 17- and 18-year-olds. I think it's pretty bloody good. And definitely obscure.
The guy at the front was my friend, and the singer.

97: Cried on the first day of school, but when we were allowed into the garden I hid in a gap behind the wall and tried to climb over it.
98: None
99: I think when I was in reception (kindergarten in the US?) I snitched on some kid making racist comments. I was informed by the teacher beforehand I wouldn't be identified and that I wouldn't get in trouble. She then shouted at me and the boy in front of the class.
I also remember being pretty disturbed by the fact that my father believed that the vast majority of people in the world, including close friends of his, would be tortured for all eternity and God would not intercede on their behalf.
100: Probably Dunno Just Bounce by Mighty Matty, I've linked it here a few times.

Not huge on music so none for me.
Whaaaaaat? This boggles my mind.
As for my favorite song, it's hard to say. I just went through my iPod and was like "Oooh, that one!" Then the next song I see I said the same thing.
Probably my all time favorite song, though, is
this one
(not sure if link will work, since I can't get Youtube at work. I just Googled it and copied and pasted). It reminds me of growing up, my folks would always sing it to my sisters and I, and sing it to each other. Grass roots is some of the best music out there. A lot better than the garbarge dubstep @#$% that is around today.

When
Otherworld
from FFX comes on my Ipod, I get people saying, "Whooa, this sounds kinda badass. Where's it from?" and I tell them and they usually don't understand what I'm saying xD

Same here, I downloaded most of OCRemix.org's collection of remixes, though I did get a few friends listening to it, so it's not a secret. I don't actually think I have a song or two that fits the question of this thread... I'm pretty open and lenient about my music tastes, and I can convince other people to "try it and like it" heh.

You know what's even more 'badass' then just the song?
This: Song + Fighting Game = Pure awesome every single time.

Yeah my friend got me into VGMix at first, then I went to OCR, and just finding random songs.
I guess if I had to make a choice, it would be
Unsealed
or
Four Fiends
...then again, anything by Hyadain is great.

The Videogame "Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines" is rife with AWESOME songs that are 100% obscure and almost nobody had heard about.
There's
Lacuna Coil's "Swamped"
(Plays on the credits)
There's also
Darling Violetta's "Smaller God"
(Plays on the Empire Hotel in L.A)
On the seedier bar "The Asp Hole" we get
this song
. That's Tiamat's "Cain"
This one
In the "Asylum" bar in santa monica.
And lastly the one song made specifically for the game:
Bloodlines
Prior to playing the game, I had never heard these songs before, or since, but I love them all. Its a shame these artists never really gained the faim they deserve.
I could list other songs that were only famous in venezuela/spanish speaking countries, and thus never were too famous internationally, but I'm guessing you guys don't wanna listen to spanish songs U_U

None of my favourite songs are particularly obscure. So. It is known.
I have been waiting for a reason to abuse that quote since forever.
