#86 What words do you hate? Nothing vulgar, please.
Are there certain words that you just hate the sound of, or that you just get uncomfortable hearing? For example, in "Dead Like Me," the main character's mom hates the word "moist," and the character says it whenever she wants to annoy her.

'Whatever', many swear words just because they are over used, and 'no u'.

Phrase or words? Because if phrases can be included: YOLO.
But if phrases aren't allowed: ad hominem. You all know why.

That is a strange question to ask.
I guess the word "Verga" Its spanish slang for male genitals, but at least where I live, its used FOR EVERYTHING.
From exclamations of surprise: (Example: VERGA! me gane la loteria)
to insults: (Example: hey veni aca pedazo e verga)
to say something is cool: (Example: Hey, q verga tan buena)
to even meaningless crap (Example: "Vergacion")
I'm really sick of the word to be honest.

Oh yes. And Strawman.
EDIT: Also, we were discussing alternative meanings for YOLO in vent, and I'm going with "You Obviously Look Obnoxious."

in english, its not the word itself, but rather the misuse people give to the word "Literally".
9 out of 10 times I see people using that word, they're doing it wrong.
Same goes for the word Irony. Ironically, most people don't get what irony really means.

Both the meaning of the word and the word itself get on my nerves.

^ In addition to that, using the wrong homophones. Oh, and horrible words that should never ever ever I mean
ever
be used in writing
ever
like "seethed" "uttered" and "publicized". Basically replacements for "said" that don't add anything more to the writing than a character count.

This. People seem to get the "words" noob and newb, and even the occasional "n00b"mixed up. Makes me rage and want to correct them every time, but I feel it's a lost cause.

I actually like seethed, though not as a replacement for said. But as the main verb of a sentence, I think it holds its own. Though I think "seething" sounds better.
