The Last Airbender.
Words can't describe how bad that movie is. its the one movie that has forced me to do something I've never done before or since. Walk out of the cinema. Considering how expensive cinema tickets are over here, when I buy one, I use it, I don't care how good or bad the movie is, if I bought a ticket to watch 2 hours of film, I'm watching TWO hours of film.
The Last Airbender was so horrible, I just coudln't stand it, I was incapable of enduring that torture, and just left.
Second place would be Dragon Ball Evolution. if that's what evolution is like, I'd rather stay a Neanderthal.
Third place would go to any (all) twilight movies.

Eragon.
oh god I had forgotten about this.
Yes this one was bad, but I still maintain that the number 1 most absolutely worse movie of all times is The Last Airbender.
Eragon is a close offender too though, I should probably replace my third place with this one. I mean really? DRAGONS WITH FEATHERS? WTF?
300
Do I need to say anything els?
yes, why? 300 was historically inaccurate, and had a simple dialog, simple premise, and very limited wardrobe.
But it had a ton of plus points that made it a glorious popcorn movie. For one thing it has some of the best fight sequences you're ever going to see in a movie, kickass special effects, and THE.MOST.HAMMIEST.DIALOG.EVER.
Opinion?
THIS.IS.FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACT!
/Epic kick off to the pit.

Mine is
The Room
. It's gained a sort of weird cult appeal because it really is so bad that it's enjoyable but objectively it is an awful film - terrible script, terrible acting, cinematography, editing, soundtrack - it's the full package.
300 was pretty good for what it was. It looked great and captured the essence of the source material in a way that I don't think any other director could have managed. Also, there's so many films that would have an equivalent wardrobe for a female cast without anyone even noticing that I think it's only right to dress a male cast in the same exploitation aesthetic occasionally, if only to redress the balance.

A case could be made that Twilight was vastly superior to TLA, because, while an awful movie, it appealed to its intended demographic. Young horny teen girls aint gonna go see twilight for a deep plot, or good acting, or decent special effects, or even an interesting plot.
They go see twilight for the fanservice. No more, no less.
TLA however, not only failed to attract mainstream popularity, it actually INSULTED its intended demographic: Fans of the Show. If you love even a little bit Avatar: The Last Airbender, then the movie is basically shyalaman taking a giant steaming dump on it, and then smearing it over your face with a "HA HA!" expression.
I swear to god that guy should have a restraining order against anything related to making a movie.

hmmm yo' it WAS called "The Last Airbender" there was no Avatar on the title.
James Cameron won the rights to use the word Avatar for his movie which was released around the same time as TLA, so TLA wasn't allowed to use the Word Avatar in the name (which was BS to be honest, on cameron's movie, they only say the word Avatar a grand total of 4 times, in a 180 minute movie)

I didn't hate the movie actually, being someone who had never watched the show before. I just didn't approve of the choice of actors. Aang was incredibly cute but he could not act...
Funny thing: Noah Ringer (the actor who played Aang) was chosen mostly for his skills as a martial artist, but clearly he had ZERO skill as an actor, it would had been better to choose a more skilled person to act, and use Noah as a stunt double.
I saw some footage of Ringer performing some feats of martial prowess, and for a kid, he's pretty damned good. He also is a huge fan of the show, and was basically super geeked out to play Aang, I saw a blooper reel of TLA where Noah Ringer was goofing around, and acting silly, just out of sheer joy of playing aang............... and here's the kicker: those goofy antics were actually more "in-character" for Aang, than the emo, mopy, sully, sad, depressive, angsty teen we got.

Based on Avatar is what I meant, which it clearly was.

meh if it was based off something else, it would had barely been a tiny bleep on everyone's radar, and then quickly fade out.
Look at Eragon, HORRIBLE movie, based on a barely known average book. Since the book had little fans to speak of, there wasn't that big an outcry over the movie butchering the mythos of it.
But take something that is as beloved as the show, and mess with it and you're gonna get a lot of angry folks out there. As I said, if Peter Jackson had done to LOTR what Shyalaman did to Avatar, you bet he would had NEVER heard the end of it.
Lucky for him, he actually doesn' suck, and his movies went on to become quite possibly one of (or THE MOST) successful movie trilogies in the history of film-making.

Guys stop arguing about everything! If some one doesn't like it he doesn't like it! It is hes opinion!
Every thread where I look there is some one arguing about something.
What's the worst movie you ever saw? was the question not "What is the worst movie ever and why? Be ready to argue you ass off!"
its not a discussion if there is no debate.
Disagreeing with someone doesn't have to lead to soured friendships, or foul moods, you can disagree with someone while showing respect, and all is cool.
Lord knows I've disagreed A TON with several of my friends here in wowhead (specially Adamsm and ElhonnaDS, when it comes to the alliance in wow, and the Empire in skyrim respectively.) yet we get along great, and they're among my closest and dearest friends on this site, even though we've had dozens and dozens of discussions about different topics.
This thread would be very boring if all answers are one word with no contrast of opinions going back and forth between multiple sides. As long as said contrast of opinions is handled with respect on both ends, its actually pretty fun.

Oh, and speaking of things that are absolutely nothing like their original source:
going to be the worst movie of the coming year, hands down.
