I think I will have to go with kill the person. However, after working in retail and IT, I am jaded. I believe that 99% of the population are morons and need to be thinned out anyway.

So going off the question, you either cause someone to die or believe in an idea that still causes death with it's existance? I just wanna make sure I'm understanding it correctly.
No- you either kill a person, or destroy an idea utterly- remove it from society completely- that is something that is not life or death, but you feel strongly about. Examples would be the importance of art or music, the value of not being cruel to animals, equality between the sexes, a set of religious beliefs, etc.

the value of not being cruel to animals
Good question, with a good example, I think. I did have to consider it. Ultimately, I'd save the human - since doing so would not cost additional human lives as given in the premises argued for in the OP.
As for equality between the sexes, I think that it can be correlated to better human lives: infant mortality rates are usually lower and lifespans higher in countries with more gender equal parliaments.
Ed: 261 - our corporeal existence. Many of our troubles would be alleviated if our essence could survive our mortal extinction.

I would much rather have a belief in a moot idea that gets disproven than cause a death of an innocent person. The death can cause grief to a family. Grieving is not a fun thing.

Person, but only if it's myself. Because of my ideals I don't think it's right to take another human life.
Enjoy wrapping your head around that.

#263- Should a partner be jealous of "marital aids"? We're specifically discussing inanimate objects- not movies or photos of other people.
Again, as I like to do when we have the occasional racy QOTD- lets keep it PG13 and not get into specifics.

I don't think so. ;o

Jealous? Absolutely not. Hypothetically, if my girlfriend used a thing that would be a whole lot bigger than me, I would have some concerns about whether I actually satisfy her. I would not be "jealous" of it. It wouldn't "hurt my ego". Being able to satisfy my significant other is the most important thing for me.
Personally, I do not use anything of that sort, and I do not really have any urges to try. But should my partner be jealous if I would use something? I don't think so.
The only scenario when these things would really be trouble would be if someone would prefer to do it with a toy than with a partner. As long as doing it with the partner is preferred and the toys are just there to overcome separation (or spice things up during "normal" bed sessions), they are fine.

I'd have to agree with Thror here. Unless it's preferred over your partner, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

not get into specifics.
But, mooooom! That's the best part!
In all seriousness, though, I do think in this case the specifics matter to properly advance discussion.

I think this hits the nail on the head perfectly. As long as they aren't going to the toy in preference to me, then there isn't an issue...and if they are, there are bigger things to be worried about than bed room fun times...

Arguably, they're very animated objects....
There's no reason to be jealous if you're invited to the party as well. Otherwise, as per Thror's comments about preferring a toy over the partner.

Viable plot device for science-fiction movies. That's all.

As others are touching on, humans are tribal by nature. They seek to find a group that they can call "we" and that necessitates someone else to call "them". The only way that "we" can include the whole world is when there's something else to call "them".
I also blame this element of the human psyche for a LOT of what's wrong in the world but it has been an important part of our evolution as a species when we really were small tribes, fighting to exist on limited resources. Now I think those instincts misfire and lead to bigotry, hatred and fear.
