Must've been Mario or a japanese version of Pokémon - can't remember which one I got first right now.

I pretty much always played games. It's hard to really think of the definitive game. Instead I have a bunch of really fond memories:
- Racing on Mario Kart SNES, trying to break balloons on the water level; spending what felt like days in a stand off, one balloon each, with my dad.
- SimEarth. I don't remember anything about this game, but I remember a grayish Earth and feeling really frustrated in a good way with my Earth.
- Warcraft II and one of the first levels--I think it's actually Northrend or something. I don't remember. All you do is kill like 3 ships and a couple mobs, it's very tutorial-esque, but I was so scared of the fog of war I sat for minutes petrified to 'explore.'
- Asheron's Call and feeling like the world was endlessly in the Direlands (I think that's what it was called?).
- Ocarina of Time, Bongo-Bongo boss in the Shadow Temple.
- Starcraft. Lost Temple. Enough said.
- Sim Copter and a robber mugging someone outside; then flying off to put out a fire.
- Street Fighter 2 and Chun Li's ending.
- Resident Evil 2, the opening and Raccoon City as a whole.
- Counter-strike, de_dust and de_dust2. Sometimes cs_office. Knowing someone had an AWP aimed at me and strafing just right with my 56k modem lag.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. My parents had those on the SNES, and I spent countless hours playing those two games as a child.

What was the video game that got you hooked on video games? Not the first one you played necessarily, but the first one you remember having that glued to the screen effect on you, or that you were really impressed by?
A Link to the Past on my Game Boy Advanced. I got my Game Boy because my sister had just been born and my parents realized they would have very little time and attention to spare for me, so it was essentially to keep me occupied. My first game was Pokemon Sapphire, and while I enjoyed it plenty, A Link to the Past really showed me what immersion was.

Question #41- What's your guilty pleasure?
Nothing off color, please. It could be that you secretly love Justin Beiber or the Twilight books. Maybe you go through a pint of ice cream a night, or you use your girlfriend's expensive girly products because you like how they smell. Something that you love, and you hate that you love it, or at least feel weird admitting it.
Mine would be...i find list-making strangely calming. Lists of anything- just the act of making the list is kind of zen for me. I think it satisfies some OCD tendency I have, or something. It may not sound like something you'd be embarrassed about, but you try to explain to someone why they just found a notebook with three pages of the names of every superhero you could think of, or all the mammals you could think of, what the purpose of that was. There's no normal explanation for that :/

I used to design
'Mechs
when I was younger. Incessantly. Filled up workbooks with the stuff, would be distracted while I was on family holidays calculating heat generation and damage numbers and armor factors.

this Facebook page

Elhonna, yours reminds me of that South Park episode where all the girls have a list committee.

Procrastination of all sorts is my guilty pleasure. I have important work to do, buuuut I guess reading Wowhead is more important! And checking out Facebook. And completing new waves in that flash tower defense game. And watching new Yogscast vids. But I do get all my job done on time in the end. It just means that some days I have to stay at work for five extra hours. /shrug

Oh my god, I did that too. I still have a huge pile of those papers somewhere at home. I even came up with my custom rules that incorporated fighter jets and have drawn my own grid with lives for them and everything. God, Battle Mech was fun. Nothing better than a Spider mech getting a +2 height against an Atlas, and kicking his head off as a ball. My most favorite mech used to be Cyclops.

I think that mine has to be reading Warhammer 40k novels (I got into them as one of the ships I worked on had a library full of them). As a rule they tend to completely mangle the English language (I hope that they don't actually employ or pay a proof checker as if they do they aren't getting their monies worth) and they have massive plot holes. However, once I pick one up I just cannot put it down.
