162. Eat whatever I want for a cold. Hangover, chocolate milk. Stomach bug, take blanket to bathroom.
163. Quit quite recently. Don't plan on returning while Kotick is in charge. I like the community and tend to stick around on forums with friendly people and lively debate. I used to think people that stuck around to bash WoW on mmo-champ or the Joystiq site were pathetic, actually... I still watch PvP videos too (recently got into them again).

Still play WoW. Started in 2009 right before ICC dropped. I remember cause I started like a week or so before the patch to make Mounts learnable at 20.
!OMGRAGE!
at all the "Back in my day..." that I had to hear when I hit 20 and got my mount.

World of Warcraft.
^ That was a joke.
Seriously though, I can't think of anything straight off the bat, and I'm not the kind of person to view the past through rose-tinted glasses anyway. I know lots of people who do and to be honest, I'd love to personally smack every single one of them in the face.
With a brick.

pogs, pokemon, yu gi oh, power rangers.
2006 wow was at it's prime all the way up to the ending of Burning crusade.
edit: holy mother. my child hood was good. gambled all day. gambled wit rubberbands, then marbles, then pogs, then evolved to the pokemon era. roller coaster.
i had my pog crew and we would take other people's pogs. i remember winning all 70 of someone's pogs and he was left with nothing. i had the eye of the tiger.
edit 2: i had good street cred. everyone feared me. especially in dodgeball.

Our economy didn't sucked. We were actually able to freely exchange our money to foreign currency without permission or authorization from our government, videogames were freely bought and sold here, liberty of free speech was still in place, political divisions weren't as volatile as they are today.
Seriously, I could go on ALL day about how much better venezuela was 20 years ago, but I'll cut it short with the above ones which are sorta the bigger thorns at my side.

I'm with most of the others; 'back in the day' is usually just fog of nostalgia when it comes to things like entertainment and the like...though, back in my day, Vampires didn't sparkle =P.

Not everything is nostalgia. Cadbury Cream Eggs were legitimately better "Back in my day," because they shrunk them since :(

Hey, I did agree that not everything is covered by the fog...just a large portion of it, since that's how we humans seem to need to behave to make life bearable.

I'm really too young to have a "Back in my day" phrase, but one thing I do remember, is gas prices being low.

- Prices.

Gasoline prices.
Your income was way worse though.
So wait a minute! If things were cheaper back in the day, but our incomes were lower too, then that means that really nothing's changed at all! Wow! Who would have thought that even when fuel cost 20 cents a Litre I was actually no better off than I am now?
People who complain about inflation need professional help.

Not much, really. I'm sure there's something I can think of, but most things felt better because I was like 8 years old and didn't know half the things I do now, nor did I have any experience with stuff in general.
The only thing I can think of is maybe, just maybe, people's behaviour in general. At least in Kiruna, people were a lot friendlier ten-or-so years ago. Maybe because i was a kid, maybe not.

Okay I've finally come up with something that was better back in the day. Although I can't say "back in my day" because it turned crap long before I was born in 1990.
I'm talking about bodybuilding.
See Ronnie Coleman's gut? (Ronnie Coleman is the one on the right). See how it's bulbous as if he has a beer gut. That's because of all the growth hormones he's taken - they don't just make your muscles bigger, they make your organs bigger too. That's all bodybuilding is these days. Drugs. Sure Arnie cycled steroids, but back then bodybuilding was more about a strict training regime, a perfect diet and getting plenty of rest. Now it's just drugs.
EDIT
: Oh yeah, and look at his legs. Imagine him trying to run. Hell, imagine him trying to walk.
