#145- Where do you like to shop for clothing?
Conventions. Concerts. Various other events. Seriously, the last four pieces of clothing I bought were a Diablo 3 shirt, two Istro Con shirts and a Pearl Jam shirt. I do not buy all that much clothing, am pretty fine with what I have. But I like buying clothing as a memento from a good event, and also to show off that I was there.

This. I remember walking into a nightclub wearing a Megadeth t-shirt that I had bought at their concert the previous night, and some random guy came straight up and started talking to me about the concert.

I want to go to one of those dark polished oak stores that are lined with mirrors, wardrobes, and overstuffed leather furniture. In the middle there is a raised step, where I can stand and drink a glass of whiskey while the tailor fits a suit to me. That was like they used to do in the old days, minus the cigar. Classy.

And then one could tell them you're not buying the suit anyways, and thus made them waste their entire morning. Yep I would had loved to live in those days.

Yeah, but I want to buy it too.

I've seen a few gentleman's outfitters in Australia that are still like that MyTie - sans the cigars and whiskey.

I'm sure there are a few around. Used to be standard and expected. Now people run around in pre-ripped bleached out jeans and idiotic flat baseball caps, face tattoos... ugh. We need to send Doc and Marty to warn
them
about the future.

My future mother in law wants me to go to Kelinfeld's with her to look at wedding dresses. If you're not familiar with it, it's the "Say Yes to the Dress" store, and is crazy expensive. We were looking at dresses there online, and there were no prices. Some of the nice ones she estimated would be like $10,000.00. My eyeballs almost fell out onto the desk when she said that, and so she's like, "Don't worry, if we get you one from last season it will be a couple of thousand dollars less."
I then went to David's Bridal and other websites with much less expensive dresses, but she seems intent on the Kelinfeld's trip- lol.

My wedding, total, cost 750 bucks. Hand me down rings, cheapest dress we could find, wedding in public park, cast was family, people rented their own tuxes, cooked tri tip on a massive bbq, no flowers except flowergirl, etc etc etc. We took money we saved and went to Maui for a week. Wedding dress has been stuffed in a bag in the bottom of the closet for 5 years now. Take my advice, save up for a good honeymoon.

Funny, you're quite a passionate Christian, and yet I know hundreds of people who are more-or-less atheists who have gotten married in a church.

Which reminds me of what you said about brands a few questions ago.

Maybe its a sign I'm getting too old for this sh1t but I've never understood the logic of pre-ripped/bleached jeans.
They're meant to wear out on their own, and be DISCARDED when they look like crap. Why would anyone wanna wear clothes that look like rags? what's next? pre-hobo suits? Is this where the fashion industry is headed? May as well pay that drunkard hobo on the corner for his crappy sweat-stiff rags and voila, you're now cool.
Again, I do NOT understand the logic behind that (if there's any)

A church is not a building. I feel just as close to God in a church building as I do in a park. The park was beautiful. It was comfortable.

I don't really care much about clothing.
But when I do, I just buy it from some random store.

Wal-mart, t-shirt tents at fairs, comic shops.

I really don't care where I get my clothes, but I won't buy from Wal-Mart at all. Mainly because it's the only department store in my town and its overpriced for cheap Wal-Mart clothes.
I do get most of mine at the "end of the season" clearance racks at Pacsun or American Eagle. My boyfriend is astounded I can get 5 shirts and 3 jeans for less than $30 if I do my shopping right, especially for name brand things.

30$? In my country, you can buy a pair of running shoes for 200$
