QOTD Thread #332- Do you think that people should keep cats outdoors?

Talking on the phone
Seeing people I've not seen in a while
Talking to people I don't really know know, I just sort of tend to laugh
When people are in my house
When couples are being all gag-inducingly lovey-dovey and you want to punch them
You know what, this list could go on 5ever.
This..

#115- What kinds of situations are really awkward for you? There are some situations that are pretty much awkward no matter who you are, and that's not really what I'm looking for. Are there certain things that just make you feel particularly self-conscious or uncomfortable, that most other people don't find nearly as awkward (even if they find them a little awkward)?
I'm just going to go with the blanket "everything"

Talking to people I don't know/care to talk to, talking in vent, going to dances (I can't dance for the life of me). Though the last one hasn't been much of a problem these past few years, I can see it happening a lot this year, the girl I'm dating likes to go to school dances. Guess I'll have to learn, heh.

I feel a little awkward when someone asks me "what's new", and I feel like saying that I got three new awesome games, had a few awesome matches in LoL in the last few days, that I love the new Monk class, and that I started a Mass Effect 1>2>3 marathon and that the save system in Heroes of Might and Magic 6 is crap, but instead, I just say "nothing", because noone would know what I am talking about.
I feel rather awkward when I have to ask someone for help. That has been a problem of mine for quite a while. I prefer solving my problems myself. But I am very happy to help others all the time.
Other than that, I am a fairly confident guy and I am not afraid to talk to strangers and stuff. When I am lost, I do not hesitate to ask for directions. When I see a girl reading a really good book, I go and talk to her. When I see people struggling with their camera, or the town map, I ask them if I can help. On the anime/comics events I commonly chat up complete strangers and ask them about their impressions of the con.
TBH I think I am a pretty good talker. With a reasonably high Charisma stat and Persuasion skill. :p

I don't feel awkward yet people call me awkward, I guess it's because I create situations that I don't feel are awkward but others do, if that makes sense.

I never feel awkward. I am unimpressed by the presence of other people. This is what enables me to publicly speak.

Shopping and using public transport. Hate being surrounded by people I don't know. Likewise, parties where I don't know the guests very well and can't drink.
Speaking to twins. It's actually quite difficult.
Women I find attractive. I blush. :(
I made a joke about cancer once, and that's dangerous territory as it is, but this girl I was talking to apparently lost her mother to brain cancer a few years back. Awkward does not describe it)
Ouuuch. The worst I've done was say "I must be adopted, I don't have the alcohol tolerance one would expect from an Irish person"... To my friend's girlfriend, perhaps half an hour after he said "don't make your stupid adoption joke, my girlfriend was adopted" in private.

I don't find many things awkward, but I find compliments very awkward. I know, it's kind of weird, but I don't know how to receive them so I sort of just smile and nod and feel like I'm being an idiot.

#116 Is there one person alive you would gladly give up your life to save if you could if you had to do it right now?
Courtesy of Jubilee. If anyone else has any they'd like, e-mail them to me, and I'll try to check it more than once every month from now on- lol.

Most people, I think. But of course, I wouldn't know for sure until I was put in the situation, but I like to think that I would be able to give up my life to save someone else.
But haven't we answered this already? I seem to remember a similar question.

Did we? I don't remember it. I got this question by e-mail and put it up here.

I don't think there was a question like this before.
I would, but it depends on the person. I honestly am not quite certain about which people I would be able to sacrifice my life for. It would probably also depend on the nature of the sacrifice and on my immediate thoughts if such a chance would ever be presented.

Myself.
But how does that work, exactly? I mean, if you sacrifice yourself to save yourself, then you never saved yourself in the first place, right?

I would and I have.
More than one actually.
On the front line, first and foremost, my kids, and my wife, and my brother, and my parents.
They're the most sacred and precious beings God has blessed my life with, and I'd do anything to protect them. As it is, I already pulled a "Heroic Sacrifice" for my mom, during the street riots of 2002, I saved her life from a national guard who was beating her to death, it costed me dearly (I was shot twice, beaten to a pulp, and sent to the blackest pit of hell for some years), but I'd do it again for her or the rest of my family without hesitation.
Each and every single one of them means the world to me, and I can't imagine my life without any of them.
