Mark snorted, "they'd have to be pretty stupid to think we did all this," he muttered, gesturing towards the destruction that surrounded them, "but you've got a point."

"We're dressed weird by this worlds stan-" Alistair began as he knelt down near another corpse and froze midway the moment his hand landed on the late soldier's chest. He heard no words, and could only describe it as a really,
really
uneasy sensation in the back of his head - but had he stumbled upon this scene, say, a month or so later, he would almost certainly hear a hollow, raspy voice that was and was not his own ringing in his ears.
'
They are worse than dead. Their souls were taken and bodies left to rot. They shall know no peace.
'
Mercer shuddered visibly, then said, quietly and solemnly, "We have to bury them. We owe them that much. I am not going away if I know something like our Piglet can decide they can pass for an afternoon snack."

Mark shook his head, "I'm not going to bury them when there's a good chance a rogue necromancer will find the graves, if we truly want to give them some peace we'll burn them," he said, keeping any emotion he may have felt out of his tone.
Meanwhile the helboar had vanished entirely into the crumbling mineshaft, the sound of enraged and frightened kobolds echoing from the walls.

Alistair wanted to say that it was already too late, that the worst had already happened, that some sick bastard had already violated them and the cadavers that remained were just that - something completely devoid of everything that made them human. The words stuck in his throat, a lump that threatened to choke him as he shuddered again, licking his suddenly dry lips. Mercer then simply nodded, curtly and fiercely, without a sound.

"Burning them will take time, and give away our position," Alex said, shaking his head. "And we cant exactly tip them off in Goldshire, either. It might shift blame onto us. I say we keep moving and pretend like we know nothing."

Mark nodded, "then there's that, though burning would be quicker than burying... But if we're not going to do either, the least we can do is check for survivors... Whether they're human or not," he said firmly, it was evident by his expression he would refuse to do any less.

"Alright," Alex conceded. "Let's just be quick about it, 'kay?"

"There are some things we have to do," Mercer muttered. His grasp on the hilt tightened, as if holding onto a weapon he had no experience of usage calmed him down.

"Like killing that bastard of a warlock if we ever find him," Mercer growled suddenly. "And don't tell me we're not suited to fight - not yet. Just not yet."

"I don't think we're suited to fight," Alex promptly replied. "I'll stick around, though. Lead the way," he said with a short bow.

The helboar now emerged from the mineshaft, stained with the blood of many kobolds, and was now sniffing at the body of a demon. It looked in Alistair and Alexander's direction and grunted loudly, evidently trying to tell them something.
Mark meanwhile, had moved away from the others, searching for any signs of life. As he neared one section of the clearing he noted there was a particularily large amount of fallen demons and Alliance soldiers, the bodies scattered in a roughly circular pattern around the remains of a carriage.
Must've been something important,
he thought, halting suddenly with shock as he realized one of the 'corpses' was following his movements with its eyes. He cautiously approached the man and knelt down beside him, he appeared to be an officer or something of the sort judging by his attire.
"We had... no... warning," the captain said feebly, going into a coughing fit which brought up an unhealthily large amount of blood, "I lost the colours... and they... They killed everyone who tried to surrender... Dragged the rest away..." Mark listened in grim silence, jumping back slightly when the stranger's hand shot out and grabbed him by his shirt, "take this to Stormwind... They'll know...what it means," the man spluttered quietly, blood oozing from the corners of his mouth. Mark nodded solemnly and the soldier gave a drawn out, but evidently relieved, sigh. Then he was still.

"What is it, Piglet?" Mercer asked tiredly, coming over to look at the demon.

The helboar, or 'piglet' as Alistar called it, snorted and nudged the demon with its snout. There was no visible reaction, but if Alistair looked closely he would notice the figure on the ground was breathing faintly as if trying to remain undetected. The demon was lying face down on the bloodstained ground, a distinct pair of battered leathery wings protruding from its back.
Mark sighed, then swore when he realized the dead human had not given him the thing he had said was going to. He unclenched the corpse's other hand and breathed a sigh of relief upon finding what he guessed must have been the aforementioned object, it was a fancy gold seal with a long number and several letters craved into it. He tucked the object away, then gently pushed the dead captain's eyelids shut and moved on.
To Stormwind it is,
Mark thought, feeling he owed it to the dead soldier to deliver the seal, he forced his expression to remain impassive as he passed more hideously disfigured corpses.

Maybe the place was getting to him, maybe he was just too tired and weirded out, but Mercer thought he saw the demon moving. The next moment his heavy boot was pressing the thing's neck deeper into the ground. Alistair let out an angry growl, having no idea how to handle the situation and going on pure instinct - violence. There was also an urge to clean this place, to get rid of the demonic influence staining it, but mostly it just was fear and anger.

The demon reacted immediately, pushing up against Alistair's boot with unnaturally high strength before agilely spinning around to face the human. The helboar snorted at this, giving its equivalent of a disinterested shrug and started chewing on the burnt grass nearby, its equivalent of eating popcorn, while watching Alistair and the demon.

Alistair drove his thumbs into the demon's eyes while attempting to knee it into the groin.

The demoness pulled back order to free her eyes and avoid the knee, before punching Alistair hard in the stomach. The helboar now rose to its feet, puffing intimidatingly at the succubus and advancing slowly.

Richard Hippe
Northshire Abbey
Richard was sitting outside the abbey after hearing the paladin's speech about the light his mace and wooden shield laying on the ground beside him. "I guess it couldn't hurt." He said looking at the simple tome in his hands he was given. He opened up the book and started to read the first few prayers written muttering them under his breath.

Alistair gasped, cringing in pain. It sobered him, though, reminding him that he had looted a sword - and now he dragged it out of the scabbard awkwardly, yet quite rapidly, the blade going out and in a wide arc in front of him.
