Mark
Elwynn Forest
Mark ignored Alistair's remark about him glowing, "if something goes wrong and we're all there, we all die. If only one of us goes the worst that could happen is one of us dying, in theory at least," he protested, then sighed. "What do you think..." Mark paused mid-sentence, realizing he still did not know the name of the second stranger. "Should we go all together or have one of us go ahead?" he asked Alexander.

Richard nodded and walked back over to the table and picked up his tools and started to walk outside before stopping as he passed by a room where a old man in armor was preaching to a group of younger people sitting on benches. "What's this about?" He thought as he quietly entered the room threw the door in the back and leaned against a wall as he began to listen.

"Alright, we'll all go then," Mark decided, conceding defeat.

Mark nodded and continued walking. "I didn't exactly get your name earlier... What is it?" he asked Alexander, a little embarrassed at having to ask the question - he thought the other human had probably already mentioned it and that he must have forgotten it already.

Alistair stuck his hands in the pockets of his longcoat and walked on, whistling thoughtfully. Dream or not, he decided he would act like this was real, and get the most of it before getting fried or something.

Mark glanced disapprovingly in the direction of Alistair when the other human started whistling, if anything bad was nearby it would certainly hear them, but shrugged inwardly and said nothing - if there was something bad nearby it would probably know they were there anyway.
So far he had managed to convince himself this was all a dream, or at least he thought he had, truth be told he was not so sure. After a few moments he quietly started humming, taking out his butterfly knife and spinning it open and shut to take his mind off their current predicament. The helboar snuffled loudly every now and again, still following the three humans, the smell of smoke and burnt flesh was gradually getting stronger.

"Iff you managed to kill zem, zen I assure you zey were not like me," Mercer snickered under his breath, glancing at the knife, with bad,

imitation of French accent.

"And worst of all he could be any one of us, he could be in zis very room... He could be you, he could be me..." Mark chuckled, hearing Alistair despite the latter's quiet tone, speaking with what could actually pass for a French accent. Albeit, a somewhat exaggerated accent at that.
The helboar's head titled so far to the side that for a moment it seemed like it was going to keep going for a full three hundred and sixty degrees, it was evidently confused by the funny way the two humans were now speaking.
"Nice to know that at least one other person in Azeroth knows why I've got this and not some other knife," Mark added, switching back to his normal tone of voice.

"Don't look at me, had I knew, I'd be with my 5' wooden bastard sword now. Now, of freakin' course you can't stab or slash with it, but at least it can break a femur really fast," Mercer shrugged.
"Cut it out myself when I was what? Ten, I guess," he added dreamily.

"Even so, run into a fight with someone who's got a real sword and you'd better hope you're both lucky and fast," Mark muttered, spinning his knife shut one last time and tucking it away. "Not that I'd fancy my chances with this knife either though."
As the three humans rounded the bend in the road a crumbling mine entrance came into sight, with several battered and overturned carriages strewn about in amongst the burnt corpses of various humans with Alliance insignias emblazoned upon their armour. There were no signs of life and the undergrowth in the area was blackened by fel magic.
The helboar bounded ahead and started to sniff about in the area. Mark shuddered faintly, the severely mangled corpse of an Alliance soldier lying face-up in the undergrowth nearby.

Mercer paled visibly, going as far as gaining green undertones to his skin.
"Good thing it's been a while since I've taken a snack," he muttered.
"The way I see it, poor devil won't need it again," Alistair said as he knelt down near one of the corpses and prying a charred yet still sharp longsword out of the dead hands.

"Yeah, at least we may find some useful stuff" Mark nodded distractedly, moving over to the mangled corpse and searching what remained of the guard's tunic, tying a bag of musket balls and a small bag of gunpowder that he had found to his side.
He then looked around for the firearm the two items belonged to, spotting an old flintlock rifle lying nearby. He picked up the weapon, "funny thing is I've got a better understanding of how this works than the modern ones, not that the latter wouldn't be easier to use though," he said, doing his best not to think about the various burnt bodies that were in the vicinity. Instead he removed the bayonet from the end of the weapon, before tipping the muzzle downwards and gently tapping it on the side to empty it in case it was loaded.
Satisfied that it was empty, he moved on to searching the next body and found a somewhat long cavalry-sabre.
Perfect,
he thought, giving the weapon an experimental swing. It was a lot heavier than the non-lethal ones he was used to, but the distribution of weight felt roughly the same and he was feeling relatively confident about being able to use it.

"These ones have no wirings and no button on the tip - you hack and slash and hope for the best," Alistair commented, once an amateur sporting fencer himself.

JJ
Northshire Abbey
As ordered, JJ stood his ground. After Richard had gone out, the woman on the other side of the table stood up and offered him a small vial.
- "This should temporarily increase your powers just enough for us to determine the type of magic you lean naturally lean towards", she explained.
JJ examined the vial and the liquid in it carefully. It was blue and looked rather thick. The young man shruddered on the thought how it might taste. With a deep breath he opened the vial and gulpped the liquid down. He grimaced, more so at the texture than the taste.
- "Good. Now press your right hand on this plate of ink and then on this peace of vellum", the woman continued.
The young man followed the orders and as he did so, he noticed a strange new feeling creeping up from his stomach and filling his mind.
The ink on the vellum began to glow slightly as the woman placed a quill on it. The quill then began to move on its own, drawing a pentagram into the ink.
- "Most interesting", the woman murmured. "Demonology straight away?".
- "What is it?", JJ asked.
- "It looks like you are going to the cellars, my son", the older man spoke behind him.

"I know, I've fenced with one of these myself and wasn't half bad at it... Not that I'm showing off or anything, I still don't fancy my chances against a professional soldier and this one's different to what I'm used to," Mark said upon hearing Alistair's comment, picking up a scabbard that fit the blade relatively well and attaching it to his left side. The helboar trotted over to the crumbling mine entrance, sniffing loudly and peering into the darkness.

Alistair - who knew himself to be left-handed from the age of three - was already sporting a scabbard on his right hip.
"Come to think of it..." he muttered, "With Piglet around and you still glowing, someone might as well think
we
did all the killing. Yeah, I'd rather we didn't have to explain ourselves right now."
