Panda/monk-hunting in Hellfire, would it be illegal?

I have a idea for a server event when MoP is released. To advertise on both factions for a special event when the first wave of pandas reach lvl58 and arrive in Hellfire (Why Hellfire? Hellfire is a hub in the game, almost every character quests in hellfire, so most pandas and monks eventually end up there).
The idea of the event is to kill as many pandas (and monks - especially panda monks) as possible, mainly because we dont like pandas.
A contest that stretches out over a period of time where both factions team up, rejoice and unite in a single goal - panda hunting in Hellfire. Every slain Monk gives 1 point, every slain panda gives 3 points and every slain panda Monk gives 5 points. (Hard to keep track of kills, so i have to trust individual players to be honest).
The one with the most points at the end of the event gets a huge money award (im thinking 10k for 1st place 5k for second and 1k for third), and a inofficial title of "panda slayer" and eternal glory, but people shouldnt do it to win, the main reason is having fun cross-faction while hunting pandas.
Would organizing such a server event violate the rules of the game? Could Blizzard take action against it (since the pandas in hellfire would have a really hard time questing getting hunted down by high lvl characters)?

Yeah, that's not gonna work. :)

They could. If nothing else will stick (and this seems to be griefing to me as well as cross-faction communication), they always have their rubber clause that allows them to hit you for anything they feel like. You should contact them and get permission before doing any more planning.

I don't believe it is illegal., though I do believe it qualifies as stupid. (Though it might count as griefing if you corpse camp for hours and such.)

no
After all people organized hunts like those for the Death Knights on WOTLK and got away with it scot-free.

.
well excuuuuuuuse me princess. But I happen to love pandas, as do a lot of players.

right, because hating, griefing, jerkasses like you who have fun by preventing other players from having theirs, have a long-standing tendency to be honest.
I'm TOTALLY sure nothing could go wrong with that plan.

People like you are the reason I stopped playing on PVP servers.
Natch.

Your idea sounds to me like you dont like a game decision made by blizz and wish to take it out on innocent people playing a race your not fond of. All the while attempting to get others onto your sulky, petulant and very juvenile bandwagon.
That said I doubt it would be against the rules, though I do think your idea would have a greater chance at success if you were to step up and tell the community the name of the toon you intend to use to organize and lead this selfish little crusade.

Your irrational hatred makes you believe everyone else feels the same way as you do, and that you yourself have therefore the right to determine what everyone else likes and will want to do.
Leave us all to enjoy the game without your poison.
brilliantly said. While I normally disagree with almost everything you post, this time I fully agree.
Live and Let live.
I am not fond of the worgen race, yet nobody saw me organizing blood-hunts for them in hellfire peninsula, nor engaging in worgen-hunting on my own. They are just another race, one that I dislike and thus one that I don't play. Doesn't mean I have to disrupt the fun of other players for it.

Get lost, not everyone "hates pandas". In fact the vast majority of people either like them or doesn't mind them.
Take your 'protest' to the logical conclusion, cancel your b.net, wowhead, and any other wow related accounts and leave us all to enjoy the game without your poison.
Going to have to agree with this. In fact, I would go as far as to say I would be one of the people beating the crap out of people who go panda hunting in such a matter...were I on a PvP server...

Agreed, and I am on a PvP server...

One last thing. This sort of behavior could be interpreted as active, targeted griefing.

it could but it wont.
Like I said, it happened on WOTLK with the Dks and nothing was done about it, and it happened (to a lesser extent) with the worgens and goblins on cata, and again, nothing was done about it.

thanks :P
Gotta say though, the reduced size doesn't really do justice to it. Its best to enjoy it on its
FULL
glory.

The only part I disagree with is why wait until HFP?
I say we start wiping them out as soon as they exit the starting area! I mean, there is no reason to give them 58 levels to actually enjoy the game, we gotta exterminate those vermin as soon as possible!

They will be spread across so many areas then. Hellfire is where everyone gathers.
Have you guys seen the South Park episode with the Panda? First time i saw it i thought those guys where daft, but now i understand their sentiment exactly:
