I generally play stealthy characters with long range weapons, like bows/sniper rifles. Love blasting peoples head's off without giving them a chance to retaliate.
I prefer a close combat style, so my answear would be a rogue or a warrior. From my exp from RPGs and MMO's , all melee classes can give u a better feeling of the action in a fight than the range classes. The fight it's more interesting and dynamic as a melee, as a range the fights can be boring ( sometimes too boring :P).
I always play healers. I have a friend who always plays a tank so it works out well.
When I first play an RPG, I normally start off with a rogue/thief class if it's available. After that I usually roll a mage or magic user and play with her there on out. ^_^
I tend to play caster classes. Anything that can look harmless and unarmored and then totally destroy my foes is what I am looking for.
A typical Rpg i will often make something like a melee fighter with a few suport spells. Els i just play a typical Mage or a Battlemage if possible...
I usually play caster or ranged class in RPG but when it's avaible i like to combine the skills in the games to create my personal hybrid killing machine :D
I almost always enter new RPGs as the offensive warrior type, or Soldier in Mass Effect. Oddly, I typically prefer other roles, but I find the warrior type experience is familiar and somewhat easy from game to game, giving me a chance to explore nuances of the game before trying a caster type or rogue type or whatever.
I usually play a Tank on all MMOs I play. I love being the center of the bosses attention and being able to just take all his hits and retaliate. In wow I end up challenging some dps's dps. If I can't play tank I usually go melee dps.
Nothing beat's a warrior class. Feels so much more involved when you're bashing skulls and taking names!
