First class I always pick is the rogue/thief type. Not many games are tooled for this class range, which makes it a nice challenge to be running in lesser armor just to help you sneak up in hopes of that one hit kill. Plus the ability to pickpocket and pick locks always means the chance at better (or just extra) loot.
The only truly useful class in any rpg is the caster. The rest are provided just to support my greatness.

Ranger with a pet, or an assassin like character with some range and maybe a healing spell or two
i usually try to play a rouge like class.
I usually play the barbarian/warrior type character. Fury warrior in WoW, 1h and heavy armor in skyrim, etc.
I tend towards healer specialty. I'm trying to break more into the "Take all the damage and protect others" class but healing is my forte
Been playing RPGs now for probably 20 years and I tend to gravitate towards damage-dealing mages. I like either crippling enemies with DOTs or just making stuff blow up!
Only casters, they make the best show!
Hi there! I like classes which combine elements from spellcasting with melee combat. Death Knights or Paladins are a fine example.
In single player RPG's I tend to prefer the more agile characters Rogue, Ranger, Thief. Just smashing, slashing or simply blowing away my opponents isn't good enough for me! My moto is "Why fight them, when you can kill them!" fighting implies they actually have a chance! warriors get hurt, mages lose mana . . . Me? I just grin >:)These most of the time also help with my obsession with finding, collecting and exploring and basically get that 100.00% completion score I crave :D
Melee. Usually heavy armor and a 2h weapon
Melee damage dealer, almost always.
