I like playing classes which can heal. It always feels good to be a strong component to a well oiled group, and surely no serious adventurers go in to slay dragons without having someone ready to mend!

I prefer to play a hybrid class. That way I can usually find a group that will let me play with them since I'm more versatile.
I always play casters. Loved wizards since I was little, so any game that offers that option often ends up being the option I pick.
Always a caster or ranged class, not very good at melee
started out as a ranged dps, now i prefer tanking
In more solo oriented games, I tend to prefer to be at least a little bit of rogue, usually multiclassing with something if possible (often with a caster)In more team oriented games, I often play a tank or healer.
I enjoy rogue/assassin classes the most. I love backstabbing enemy's and sneak behind them :)Cant wait D3 for Demon hunters
I'm almost always a caster type.
im a jack of all trades master of none, by that i mean i can do every roll well just not well enough so in this game ill just be a balanced
I almost always play a Rogue (Elf, if possible) the first time through a game. But since many RPGs are built for replayability I will usually try all the class/race combinations sooner or later.
I usually go with a pretty basic warrior type character. I like being able to charge in with guns blazing (or swords flailing wildly, in most cases) and cut down all my foes in seconds. I'll sometimes use simple healing/buff magics to support myself or a bow to pick off a runner, but I've never been too fond of pure casters or stealthy types.
Normally I go for caster-type classes. Being able to shoot magic stuff at things has always been my preference. In fact, my main on WoW currently, is a mage. Though, I have been realllllllly into my DK and paladin lately.. <_<I also like to play healer/support classes once in a while, usually when I'm playing a game with my husband.
The biggest, beefiest, down-the-middle option is my first play through. After that It depends on the game, either caster or rogue type. Although fast-paced shooty tends to get my attention quickly too.
I can't think of a single RPG where I haven't immediately gone for the tried and true dual-wielding maniac approach, all the way back to Baldur's Gate. Preferably whilst sporting a ridiculously huge-ass set of plate armour. Clearing an entire dungeon in Skyrim by backstabbing and not getting noticed? Check. Fury Warrior in WoW from Vanilla onwards? Check. Fighter with dual-wielding in BG and BG2? Check. Dragon Age? Check. Barbarian in Diablo 2? Check. If the RPG is a little more limiting (The Witcher 1 & 2 and Fable 3 are recent ones I've played), then I generally still go all out melee. There's something so satisfying about and VERY entertaining about running in as a shrieking dervish of blades and steel.
I usually play a spell-flinger of some sort, then branch out to melee fighter-type.
