Torhead is making a few additions right now. The downtime shouldn't be long and it should be worth it.

So far im loving it, though graphical issues and lag are making it hard to play for long periods. But you could attribute that to them trying to work out the bugs on highly populated servers.

The site looks like it's coming along nicely. My only gripe is the lack of page numbers outside of opening the thread. :|
It'll get there, though :D

Ok heres a new one. Every time I try and log in to my existing account or create a new one, after I type in my email and password information, it randomly takes me to a forum thread or database rather than logging me in or creating my account -.-
UPDATE: Ok actualy I managed to log in, but it takes me directly to that walking dead forum, and when I try and leave to go post somewhere els it logs me out again, then when I log back in it takes me right back to that same forum...
EDIT: Actualy strike that, it lets me go anywhere without logging me out,
except for the forums
which is where I actualy want to go...

It
really
helps to be specific. Instead of saying "that forum" say what section.
Also, are you using chrome? Are you selecting the site from Most Visited or are you typing in the url? It could be that Chrome thinks that you want to go to that specific forum if you visit it a lot. It happens to me. Chrome things I always want to go to page 2 of reddit.

How is this game? Does it feel smooth like WoW or cluncky like many other MMOs? Is it balanced? Does it take a while to level up?

The game is incredibly smooth, it makes WoW look clunky.
Phasing in this game works like a dream. If you're in a more advanced phase than someone else and they go in first, you adjust to their phase for the duration needed.
Even though you share a starting area with another class, the quests have a different storyline so it won't become boring going through the same area twice. On top of that, because this is a Bioware game, you don't have to make it the same exact experience going through the area. Be good, be neutral or be an ass! Your choice.
For example: You've been sent on a quest to retrieve a package. Once you get there you find out it's contraband. You can either destroy it or choose to give it to him. Once you get there you have the option to give it to him or destroy it in his face. Awesome.
Leveling isn't too fast and it isn't too slow. Because they storyline is presented to you in voice, it makes following it a lot more bearable and you know what you need to do by the end of the conversation. There's not a lot of foot-traveling because taxis exist between major questhubs and the main hub. The rides are cheap and fast but not instant so you do get the enjoy the scenery.
Hearthing in the game is different. It's a 30 minute cooldown but instead of being bound to an inn at one place, you have the option to hearth to the various bindpoints you've discovered. Explained in WoW terms, if I have discovered Goldshire and then I've discovered Eastvale, I could teleport to either from the field and they are permanent.

Hmm might have to pick it up then.

Does anyone else think Bioware's opinion of what constitutes good and evil actions is kind of skewed? As an example, I just got a quest to booby trap supplies I'll be planting on dead resistance fighters on Balmorra. I can either plant fake comm units or grenades. Since both civilians and soldiers scavenge bodies for supplies, the fake comm units might kill either civilians (including children) or soldiers, but since only soldiers are likely to use grenades, the grenades are more likely to kill soldiers.
So the fake grenades are not only the more effective anti-resistance idea, but it also avoids killing innocent children. I mean, even if you didn't care about the kids it's still simply the more practical option, but I still get light side points for going with the grenades, really? Is the only way I can get dark side points to say 'I would rather compromise the effectiveness of this plan in order to kill a few children than do my job properly?' It's not even like killing innocent children is making it easier to complete an objective. I'm actually taking away from the objective to do it.
I always find myself being a good guy in Bioware games without intending to be, because the bad guy options usually aren't 'complete the mission better, but with less of a conscience' which is what I think they should be. Instead they're 'take time off of useful work to drown kittens a sack at a time.' Whereas good guy options are 'you can lie, threaten, and kill anyone who fights you, just try not to slaughter civilians while you're at it.'

I still can't log into Torhead

I tried to sign up at Torhead, but I was sent to the main page, without any indication that I have successfully signed up; I've tried this 3 times. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do at that point, so I cam here.
Anyway, here's my question: I'm quite curious about it. I want to play it, but I've never been a fan of Star Wars. So, do you think I would need to know anything about Star Wars, to enjoy it, or understand the story?

As far as story is concerned, not really you just need to understand that the Republic and Sith are in a "cold war" and that mandalorians = elite expert combatants.
Oh, OK. I still don't know what I want to do. I mean, if there was a trial, I'd go with that, so I could test it out.

The game looks awesome and I would play it if it wasn't another money sink. I've finally managed to break my addiction to wow and I'm enjoying the money I have because of that. I think I'll wait awhile before touching ToR.

@pezz
I remember that quest and I was sure that choosing comm units gave me dark side points (I'm 10k - dark V).
I would say though (I may be remembering incorrectly) that it seems like they've sometimes made the LS/DS options depend on things that your character doesn't actually know at that point so some DS choices might seem like the more "nice thing to do but it turns out the consequences are pretty nasty. Your character (and you) don't know the consequences but the LS/DS points do seem to.
@Lombax
I'm loving the game and having played it I couldn't go back to WoW, I'm sure of that already. I think they've innovated just the right amount without making things feel so different that it's not recognisably an MMO any more. They really have been successful at making story important (which was my personal biggest doubt before playing) but more impressively they've made roleplay something that everybody does to some extent.
I've always hated RP - I used to joke that RP made me itch. I don't make a story for my characters and I don't refer to people as "thou" (I know this is vastly misrepresenting RP but that's the cliché and I was happy to steer clear of it). However, you make a character in ToR and you start having to make decisions and the voice acting is really good so you're watching cut scenes and deciding on your reaction to it and you naturally start thinking in terms of "So, this is my bounty hunter so I'm gonna always just get the job done like a pro. If someone hired me then I'll do it no matter what the dark side/light side implications" or "I'm a Sith, I'm gonna be the most evil, nasty, stuck up Sith I can be". This is immediately more RP than I've ever done in my life and I'm enjoying it.
However, there are bugs. It's been a clean launch in terms of server uptime and crashes but there are lots of very minor bugs in the interface or (a major thing for me recently) hard mode flashpoint encounters that can diminish one's enjoyment. These will certainly get fixed, I have a lot of faith in BioWare on that score. They've proven very early that they will happily make quick patches to fix things and they've already got a major content patch coming before the end of the month.
It's not 100% positive but it is an incredibly good game that I would happily recommend to anyone that either likes MMOs or likes SW.

I think it looks fantastic, and I would love to play it...but I no longer play MMOs. They suck up too much of my life. I'll stick with my console games, and reminisce about the days of progression raiding and and being rated over 2100 in 2's in WoW.
