MyTie from my perspective (might differ from others here) you're like a black sheep in this argument. All the white sheep are peacefully grazing on the countryside (wowhead in this case). And you are the black sheep in the background that everyone hates. Just wanted to share that.

My favorite part about all of this, is that nothing about my post said WoW was a great game, or that there weren't valid complaints, or that Blizzard can do no wrong. I think most people know I have stopped playing WoW in favor of SWTOR. I just like it better right now.
What I said, is that it seems funny that people who might otherwise have some rules about how you treat other people, in terms of how you speak to them, what language you use, how much disgust you express, seem to let those rules fall by the wayside during the discussion of video games. I can understand when debates get heated about things like politics, religion, etc.- topics where you're discussing things that will have an effect on what morality your children will be exposed to, how you're able to feed your family, whether or not people die, what laws you'll have to live under, etc. I just find people who are as nasty, vulgar, aggressive and boorish with people who like a game they don't like as with people who want to make decisions that they feel are killing people or hurting their children's future to have some real issues prioritizing.
And in response to this, I get a post about how I'm stupid to defend blizzard (which I didn't do) and comparing my like of blizzard games to liking getting peed on. So, bravo MyTie, in showing me that the people who dislike this game can discuss that civilly without flying off the handle, and are able to be treat people who have a different opinion than them ON A HOBBY with the kind of respect that they'd expect to be treated with.
And, since you think your analogy proves you right, lets break it down. Your ex has some kind of disorder that affects bladder control- really a sad idea, if you think about it in human terms. You were unable to deal with it, so you leave. He finds another person who wants to be with him regardless, and can work around it. Your response is to go on his facebook page, and embarrass him about his illness, and then when someone who loves him tries to stick up for him, you make vulgar, nasty statements about them liking getting peed on. And you don't do this once- you go back to his page every day for months, watching for an opportunity not to express your discontent to him, but to make nasty, condescending vulgar remarks to everyone who still likes him- tell them they're stupid, and try to come up with the most nasty, vulgar metaphors to show them how disgusting they are to you.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but that's pretty much the definition of online stalking. Especially since you're not only talking to the source, but victimizing everyone with a different opinion than you. No rational person can believe that it's totally morally unforgivable to like a standard of entertainment that is below or different that what they expect themselves, and is justification to curse those people out, go specifically to where they congregate so that you have an opportunity to let them know how stupid they think they are again and again, and make insulting comments about them eating or enjoying excrement, supporting child abuse, or anything equally disturbing. There's a pathology in that thought process, and I'd guess this kind of behavior comes from someone who gets personal satisfaction in being condescending and nasty, and is only looking for an outlet. Seriously, before you respond, take a second to think about the amount of hate and anger you're letting loose into the world over a GAME, and what your religious values would have to say about THAT.
But anyway, this is a SWTOR thread. My original post was designed to be a commentary about people who address people who like this game with just the most absurd language and metaphors, and I copied and pasted because I felt the stalker analogy still fit. So lets get back to star wars.

Words like "despise" and "love" in this context are exactly why Elhonna's comparison was an interesting one. Nobody is saying that they are the
same
thing, it's an analogy to illustrate a point and it's a much better (at least less offensive) one than a lurid one involving urination.
Elhonna illustrated WoW as if it were a boyfriend. I pointed out that that boyfriend has significant and extremely unpleasant problems, such as a boyfriend that wets the bed. You make it sound so much more offensive, and hostile, and hateful, because that's probably how you read my post, as so many people here do. If I speak in a derogatory manner about World of Warcraft, then it will be viewed through extreme glasses. In order NOT to make people angry, I have to use watered down language coupled with apologies, and even then it would make people angry. I'm not going to do that because it would be dishonest. Here is an example of what that would look like. Read it and tell me if it sounds anything like me:Hey guy. I think World of Warcraft is a game that almost everyone likes, and with good reason. I've got my opinions, and I'm really sorry to everyone that doesn't like my opinions. They are just that, my opinions, and I'm really cool with you all ignoring and discounting them immediately because they are just opinions. In fact, I don't even need to say them because they are so pointless. I'm really sorry, in advance, if this offends anyone. You all have a right to be offended at me and you have my complete sympathy. But, well, anyways, my opinion is, that World of Warcraft, might, kind of, well, it might not be perfect. Sorry I said that. I know this is a World of Warcraft board, and you all are World of Warcraft fans. You can ask me to leave and I will. I deserve itThat's not me. I'm going to explain it like it is. World of Warcraft has severe problems, and people are going to point them out on World of Warcraft forums. That doesn't make them stalkers, nor does it make them a punching bag, even if they use such a HORRIBLE example as a boyfriend that wets the bed (THE HUMANITY). I know people are crying and lamenting, inconsolable that anyone could say something that horrible.... The world will never be the same.
But seriously, what I said wasn't that bad. It wasn't even inaccurate. Get over it.

Jesus Christ, you people are derailing the thread with a relationship/WoW debate. Hell, the source of the debate has already been resolved. Let it die.
WoW General is up there, by the way. ^

An illustration about people in general. I wasn't like LOL ELHONNA LIKES GETTING PEED ON. Context, if you please.

No one else respond. Let him have the last word. There will be plenty more debates down the road.

So, anyone else onto Nightmare mode raids?

Not raiding yet- everyone had altaholic fever, so we're all on like our 3rd or fourth toons. Eventually, we'll get around to raiding- lol. How do the raids compare- difficulty wise- to WoW?

My guild did our first raid this Saturday. 4 or 5 of us got to max level quite quickly and have been running HM FPs ever since. I've been doing my best to encourage other guild members to take their time with the level process. Although I'm eager to get started with raiding properly, the levelling is so much fun in this game that I don't want anyone to look back and regret having rushed.
So, we ran through EV normal with 4 well geared (mostly Columi) people and 4 still in levelling greens/blues and then started on hard mode before running out of time. EV is breath-taking and I really like the encounters but Soa presented us with so many bugs we were getting really rather frustrated.

they were difficult, due to bugs and people not knowing the fights. But since they fixed the bugs, and everyone in our 8 man knows what to do, we oneshot everything.
We tried 16 mans, that is insane

It seems to have gotten across.
As for raids, I'm still only 23. :( Hopefully they're challenging.

maaaaaaaaaybe
. How much of a sense of community is there as a whole in the game? Probably a stupid question, but, oh well.

Well, people from my guild get blasted for being noobs and also elitists.
We are the top guild on the server, so we have a reputation.

My guild has had civil conversations so far. General chat is pretty funny, there aren't abunch of kids spamming Chuck Norris jokes.

Take a trip to DK general sometime. It gets pretty bad. Actually it kind of looks like the last two pages of this thread.

So, I'm reviving this thread because I've noticed I've spent way too much time on the RB talking about SWTOR, when in reality, RB is to talk either about no topic in specific or just crazy stuff like a cat farting and having a hiccup at the same time.
For that reason, My future comments regarding SWTOR will be placed here.
I gotta say, after 7 days playing the trial and giving a try to half the classes in the game (Trooper with the healer/dps spec, Agent with the healer/DPS spec, Sorcerer with the healer/DPS spec, and Knight with the pure DPS spec) No class has come even closer to impress me as much as the Operative.
The class has it all. They get stealth to bypass most mobs during a quest (Which saves a lot of time) their first companion is a tank (Seriously, why doesn't EVERY CLASS gets a tanking companion at the start? its what you need most in order to kill stuff without having to rest every fight. Its baffling that so many classes get their tanking companion in their mid 20's or even mid 30's when it should be the first one they get) they get decent heals, and they get a rapidly renewing resource.
This is something that irked me with the sorcerer healing and trooper healing. Sorcerers use Force (Pretty much works like mana, you get a large pool of it, but slow regen) and troopers use Ammo (sorta like the focus works for hunters. It regens itself but slowly) Whereas Operatives use energy (Which works exactly like it does for rogues in wow, small pool, but fast regen)
What this means is that sorcerers can spam their heals for longer intervals without going OOM, but when they do go empty, they're pretty much screwed, as their resource regens SLOW. Troopers have it worst, since they get a small pool of resource, that also regens slow, though slightly faster than the sorcerers.
Operatives on the other hand, get energy, and while they can only throw 3 heals before going empty, it also only takes a couple of seconds to have enough to throw another heal, and another and another. They even get a buff that increases energy regen speed. I was able to Solo a 4man heroic quest with my operative presicely due to this. Using Stealth to bypass a lot of needless fights, using my tank to keep the elites off me, healing my tank, and auto-attaking the mobs.
For those reasons, while I love the story of the sith inquisitor (Which is the base class for sorcerers) I think I'll be making an agent (Base class of the operative) as my main once I join SWTOR for real.
