I wish everyone in the world was twice as happy
I wish everyone in the world was twice as nice
I wish everyone in the world was twice as pretty
All three of those can be Monkey Pawed without any effort, since if you are sad, you are technically a negative number on the scale of happiness. Doubling that would be a !@#$ move.
Negatives "technically" don't exist. If there is such a sadness/happiness continuum, then relative changes in sadness would result in equally proportionate changes in happiness. The end of the scale would be reached at 100% happiness - 0% sadness or vice versa.

Always fun as an Economics student to see people debate how to accurately calculate utility.

1)I have often, in response to this question. thought of Adams' ATM card thing- I feel like having enough money regardless would answer most of my other thoughts on what would make good personal wishes- getting to sleep late every day, to travel and see the world, plenty of time with my fiance, my baby nephew and to farm my Archaeology bug mount, etc.
2) I would like the ability to keep large, exotic animals as pets without fear of them hurting anyone. I have a real thing for big cats, large reptiles, wolves, etc., but I wouldn't want them in a cage or anything. I'd kind of like just to have an understanding with them- they hang out in my back yard and let me pet them and curl up with them while reading, I feed them and make them padded beds with their names embroidered on them, and everyone (thing?) is happy.
3) My contribution to the world, in this 3 wish scenario, would be for the human mind to be unable to group people into categories smaller than "human". They would be able to look at someone, and notice details about that person, but their minds would not be able to then jump to the point where they think in terms of grouping people by those characteristics.

See they would know that they were a guy, and would therefore go to the men's bathroom.

2) I wish I was the worlds best human.
3) I wish I was the worlds most attractive human.
Being a runner up aint good enough eh?
I want to be alpha, but my genetics have their limitations. O.o

I wish cancer didn't exist.
I wish cancer didn't exist.

Manipulating matter would cure cancer (look above) =)

1. Translate our consciousness into an infinite virtual heaven, where reality is exactly as each individual wishes and everyone is such a realistic automaton (apart from the absence of pain or death) that one couldn't tell the difference.
2. Should one wish to die in such a circumstance, they'd just be put to sleep for a second, then told they were dead for 100 000 years but wished themselves back into existence.
1. Permanent orgiastic uninterrupted bliss for every conscious being that has existed, that could have existed given a different sperm met a different ovum, or that did exist in the past, for all eternity.
In effect, it monkey paws itself.
The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one.

1) That none of my wishes could go wrong, but always as I intended them to go. This one included.
2) That I can have an infinite number of wishes. Not just three.
3) ?
4) Profit.

I'm not sure yet.
But I'm avoiding using words that begin with those two letters so that you can't retalliate.
Apparently when I
