.....Seriously Facesmasher, do you ever read the threads or just post things?
does it fly? if it flies, then i'm sold.
And more then likely it will since it does have wings.

skipped it by accident :(

It does, it works just like sparkle-horse and Guardian. Moves at your highest riding skill. 60/100% ground, 150/280/310%(I think those are the rates?) flying, when trained. Every toon on the linked WoW account will get the mount, regardless of when it is created. All existing, and all made afterwards.

ohhh stop complaining and be a man will ya? at least you HAVE the free pass.
I just found out that even if I didn't had a billion obstacles to get it myself, I still wound't be able to, because ALL OF LATIN AMERICA, can't actually take that deal.
nor can people in africa, or most of asia.
in fact, only about a dozen countries in the whole world can actually take that deal, the rest of the planet........ even if you had the money, and the means to pay for it, they'd still tell you to piss off.

Why so.....angry?
Edit: Meh seems so short lol. I will admit, they really should start changing how their system works. Never understood why they cut out so much of their customer base on deals like these.

Why so.....angry?
I tought I had explained clearly enough why.
Deal of the century, you pay 1 year of wow (which in my case I'll end up paying anyways, pass or no pass) and you get free diablo 3, (that alone makes the deal sweet enough to take it) the BEST MOUNT EVER (added bonus) and guaranteed spot on the beta (pure awesomeness)......... only to have 12 out of hundreds of nations worldwide being able to take said deal...............
/facepalm.
They should offer alternative options for other non-US non-fancycountry citizens, a friend of mine is from mexico, and he DOES have the means to get the anual pass, blizz has no problem charging him montly from his credit card anyways, nor did they had any problem when he digitally purchased cataclysm for me, but hey, he tries to get the anual pass, and TA-DAHH, they tell him to take a hike..........

I understood, was a pun towards your icon. And my edit explained that I agree with the issue you have with it. It makes no sense that they cut out a large portion of their subscriber base.

1. that they are strongly concerned over the idea of longtime wow players leaving wow for D3 once it is out and felt they needed a way to entice wow players to play both.
I was thinking about this the other day and... I'm not sure this is the case. A lot of people, myself included, don't care about Diablo 3. Sure, I played the first two games, but I wasn't enthralled by them. They were good, but not great to me. They were entertaining, but after such a long delay I'm really not interested. There are more than enough good games coming out that don't need another one. Diablo wasn't on my list for 2012. Now it is.
Blizzard has essentially taken the same money that they always taken and are now giving me a reward for it. It makes perfect sense.
2. that MoP most likely won't be out until late next year and they will more than make their money back by giving away free digital D3 copies compared to if these same players quit wow for D3 when it came out then came back to wow once MoP is released.
I think this has more to do with Blizzard wanting to keep that money rolling in, yes. I doubt they are scared of people leaving for Diablo. I also doubt that MoP will be a mass exodus. Cataclysm hasn't felt right to a lot of people for a number of reasons. Blizzard shaking it up a bit in MoP will assure that some players return and, like always, others exit.
What they have done here is realized that they won't be releasing a ton of content and they want to lock you in for it. Giving away a mount and a game (that will likely retail for 60 bucks) is a great way to convince people to lock themselves in a full year contract. During this time they keep getting your money every month AND they almost assure that you will be back for the big stuff. You'll be able to check out the stuff before the expansion and you'll be around to buy the expansion because you have some gametime left. If you leave, who cares? They are still going to get your money.
This move is BRILLIANT. For me, it's a no-brainer. There isn't anything out better than WoW. In the foreseeable future there won't be anything out to steal the thunder. I am going to play for another year. I am now going to play Diablo 3 and ride around on a neat looking mount. It might not be for everyone and I understand. Don't sign up for it. No one is forcing you.

you know what, i was going to play for free anyways, now i get a free collectors edition d3? hell yes ill take it and make money out of it :D Auction House FTW! this will be a free service to me, and i will use it to make money, which will in turn pay for the wow i just bought. so yes i will use d3, and wow, and d3 will pay for wow like wow will pay for d3 :p

Well I know that I am buying D3 when it comes out.
This is a smart move by Blizzard actually. Ensuring some longer subs by giving away perks is very smart, imho.
well said. But of course the doomsday advocates aren't going to listen to a voice of reason, they're as always shouting about fire and brimstone.
It's a very smart marketing move, getting D3 in the hands of people who might otherwise not buy it (thus increasing its exposure), while at the same time guaranteeing the income from WoW until the likely release (or close to) of MoP.
It rewards customers for loyalty to both the company and the WoW brand, which is always a good thing.
It's in fact no different from a car manufacturer giving away free bikes with a purchase (which some do, especially on their higher end models).

Problem is that in many countries deals like this are illegal, and therefore Blizzard can't offer it there.
In other countries, electronic software delivery might be illegal (so the only way to get WoW or D3 would be a boxed set), making the cost of the deal for Blizzard excessive to offer there.
Etc. etc.
I'm happy though, for once a US company has a special offer that's available outside the US! More often than not (I'm talking 90%+ here) such deals are exclusive to US customers.

sweet indeed. And more appropriate for my death knight than a celestial steed (which I already have, use if mostly for my paladin) :)

Blizz is a business. Of course they're not doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. They get more subscription guaranteed revenue, and we get goodies for signing up.
Cheers.

I'm sure it's no consolation, and I do feel for you, but I'm sure that the reason blizz isn't offering it in the countries excluded is NOT because they don't want to. It's almost certainly a red tape/government/law issue that makes it either not a good deal or just downright undoable. This deal is pretty sweet, for both the customers AND blizz, and I'm really pleasantly surprised by their genius in offering it. There's NO way they are witholding it from certain countries to "be mean" or anything...there has to be a significant reason that they can't help behind it.

I welcomed the annual subscription commitment with open arms when it was unveiled. I still consider myself relatively new to WoW, I started during Wrath when ICC was already released. I absolutely love the Diablo series (I've played Diablo 2 to death and still find myself playing from time to time) and have always planned on buying the Collector's Edition of Diablo 3 when it was released. I figured I couldn't lose signing up for this annual commitment.
I've never been a big PTR player when they've had the test realms up for use, but I think guaranteed entry into the Mists of Pandaria beta would be something I'd like to try out. And, of course, that mount is sweet looking, although I fear it will be as abundant on servers (or mine, anyways) as the Celestial Steed and Winged Guardian when it comes out.
For me personally, and maybe other people in a situation similar to my own, this deal is absolutely a win-win.
