The company has actually been operating under a different CEO for quite a while now, so I don't see why the stock would drop too much.
He was still Apple Chairman.

I have an iPod, but don't use any Apple apps or the like so.....while it's sad another soul has left this mortal coil, and a bad way to go(cancer is always bad), I really don't feel all that much about this.

Apple has been a driving force in the IT world for 30 years. It's kind of sad that this generation can't see beyond iPods and Safari. I am glad he was the genius he was, and I think those who continue to work in the field have very big shoes to fill.

I'm... glad really...
I didn't like Jobs. I didn't like his company. I didn't like his policies. I didn't like his marketing. And I didn't like his products.

You're glad someone who had no negative impact on your life is dead? Wow. Have a heart, really
You're upset because someone who has no impact on your life is glad someone died? Wow. Grow some skin, really.
I say what I think.

I think it's strange that people can just hate people they've never met; like I said above, only Apple product I have is an iPod and I don't want anything else from them, so the death of Jobs doesn't really affect me. Also, hate the product, hate the company, but don't bash the dead; that's just kind of pathetic.

You could criticise Atik for being too sensitive about Apple, but you can hardly say that Jobs had no negative impact on his life.

I'd hate to Godwin the thread so quickly, but it's a reasonable time (i.e. at a person's demise) to reflect on both the achievements and the consequences of their life. Jobs was a dictator at Apple. He did some very good things, but he also acted quite negatively on others as well. Apple wouldn't have all the disputes with Samsung right now if it weren't for the fact that Jobs insisted on only supporting a home-grown OS and its limitations, because Apple would have better monopolised the smartphone / tablet market and Samsung wouldn't even get a toehold in.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

I've personnally seen three family members and a close family friend die.
Pretty much de-sensetized me. I've stopped caring for the most part.

No, but gloating over someone's death hours after their passing because of the fact that you didn't like the products sold by the company they ran doesn't seem quite equitable.
I don't like Robert Kotick, but I don't think he deserves to die.

I don't think anyone's saying that though. You could equitably hate the guy for working people in sweatshops to death, for example, or for being a control freak by forcing people to jailbreak their phones to get third-party apps. Nobody's said "I don't like the iPhone, I prefer HTC, therefore, woohoo!" or anything of the kind.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

Well, was it really necessary to include "I didn't like his products" in the list of reasons one could be happier after reading news of his death?
Would any of those things have warranted execution?
Again, I'm not an Apple fanboy. I regularly antagonised my friends over Apple products and working conditions for Apple workers. I don't think it's necessary to quash criticism just because someone is dead - I definitely saw some people laud Airplane as the best movie ever (after Leslie Nielsen had died) that absolutely detest its writers. But to express joy over another's death is quite strange to me.

No, I'm not saying he should have been killed over his products. I am saying I'm glad he is gone.
Noone killed him. He just died. There is a difference.
