I hate the RNG as much as anybody, but the old raids need to remain on a weekly lockout (or maybe 5 days if anything). If you go to daily lockouts, everyone and their mother would have half a dozen legendaries by the end of the month, which would cheapen them entirely, and piss off everyone that worked for months (or years) getting them.
Now there are 2 things that CAN be implemented reasonably easily that I think SHOULD be done with the old raids:
1) get rid of the mandatory group. I hate having to wait for a guildy to log on to get into a raid I plan on soloing. I usually end up waiting for Tol Barad, and rushing to the raid entrance right after, just before everyone drops group. If we are doing it solo anyways, why bother locking people out until they are forced to rig it.
2) Make drop rates take group composition into account. This is for both new raids, and old ones. It really sucks to have that killer intellect chain piece drop when their are NO shamans in the group. Or what about the awesome spirit/int mace with no pally in the group. If you have a druid and two rogues in a group of 3, it is annoying as hell to have nothing but plate mail drop!

Farming is not for the weak. It takes patience and not taking it too serious to be able to hold out for that loot.

Wouldn't it better to post these updates on the Hammer of the Naaru comment page instead?

RNG is random:( I've been farming Gruul's with boyfriend for shield off Gruul and we've seen the hammer drop instead many times, but no shield. Want to trade?

Transmo is a really great thing.
Let you customize your character like you want.
And as you can see, it also add ALOT of playtime due to the farm.
We've all passed by an item that never dropped.
I'll always remember a trinket... took 47 runs to get it.
Farming is not for everyone. One thing sure is that you better take pleasure doing this, otherwise if it's not fun for you, it's useless to do it. Just take a more posititive view on the situation, and don't be negative, it won't help you at all. The only thing it will do for you is frustrating you.

Good luck lol.
12th attempt......didn't drop.........yet again, I see something that has dropped repeatedly. No hammer of the naaru yet again. 12 attempts in a row, and no hammer of the naaru. 3 months of trying, and no hammer of the naaru.
I'm done, I'm seriously done. I'm not trying for that stupid hammer anymore, it will never drop no matter how many times I run that raid. There is something seriously wrong with this system if an item from a raid will not drop for 12 weeks in a row when it has the same drop rate as every other drop from the boss, and everything else the boss can drop has dropped.
Screw it, I'm sticking with the
The Oathkeeper
The hammer of the naaru will never drop for my paladin, it must be bugged in some way.
You're giving up easy.
There is no bug, just RNG. Really, I know it may not feel that way when you're the victim of RNGesus (Thanks TheRealArkayn), but really - you'll get it if you keep trying. That's (nearly) guaranteed. I believe that if you would kill other bosses repeatedly, there would be other items that do not drop for 12+ weeks, but you would not notice because you do not care.
You only notice that the Hammer of the Naaru isn't dropping because you're hunting it.
But I digress; if you keep trying, you'll get it.

Don't give up now.
Next run it will drop for sure.
It's always the next run.

The Ring of wealth, when worn, increases the chance of the player receiving more valuable drops when killing monsters and more valuable rewards when doing certain activities like Pyramid Plunder and Barrows.
Damn, beat me to it lol.
Hate to have to be the one to point this out, but this information is actually false.
The ring itself does not actually increase the chance of the rare items dropping directly, it actually adds on a 2nd 'rare' drop table to certain mobs. This rare drop table, when combined with the regular drop table indirectly increases the drop rate because the mobs have to drop a specific amount of loot, with a priority over the normal table.
Ex. Mob's normal table has a 1% chance to drop the rare item, and the rare drop table has a 1% chance to drop it and a 99% chance to drop nothing. The mob is also limited to dropping only one item. On one kill the normal drop table the mob drops an iron dagger, and on the rare drop table it rolls nothing. The iron dagger drops. On the next kill the normal drop table drops another iron dagger, and the rare drop table drops the 1% rare item. The priority on the rare table makes the mob drop the rare item and NOT the iron dagger (because of the 1 item limiter).
I mean RuneScape is for kids! >.>
