Or...he's frozen as a diamond, but still aware, in which case, he's been taken for granite.

it would be kinda unfair that magni came back. After all, Cairne's death IS the permanent sort.

Yeah well, until they find some way to reverse a several thousand year old spell, expecting Magni back any time soon is just kinda of lost hope.

Metzen also said in that said comic con video, when someone asked about magni's death, that " death, is a bit of a strong word for magni's condition...." hinting that magni will come back as well :D.

YES
But probably not for a long time in all honesty.

Maybe he'll come back as a diamond earthen with shaman powers, and will lead ironforge again as a badass diamond earthen shaman.
I really hope not.....
And your point is...?That hoping for it now is truly to early.

that would be pathetic.
Magni is not a shaman, and one does not gains shamanistic powers overnight and becomes a living legendary shaman in the blink of an eye.
Magni is a Mountain King, a class on itself, and that has nothing AT ALL to do with shamanism which his clan doesn't even practices.
its like hoping that varian gets kidnapped (again) and when he returns he's now a druid capable of transforming into 9 different animals (all of them with a huge chin). When he's a warrior and him becoming something else (Specially a shaman or a druid) is not just implausible, but also absurd and ridiculus.

It doesn't matter that he's a warrior, I still wanted him to get mirror image.
He had a Mirror Image already; and he was a bit of a rake.

I meant the spell, not the annoying plot point. Like, mastering his Lo'gosh personality would allow him to call upon it physically for a limited amount of time.
Considering how much of a raw deal important warrior characters in Warcraft get, such a buff wouldn't be overpowered.
He already has that; he's the Chosen of the Wolf Ancient, now that the anger has been mastered: To put it in perspective, regular Varian was outrunning transformed Worgen, and his senses were just as good as worgen's were.

Actually the death of Cairne was a way to promote Baine; after what he does to get back Thunderbluff, on top of his leading the Horde forces in the Nightmare War, it's a nice addition to the son of the Tauren.
