You are absolutely correct, Sinespe, my bad. I'm not quite sure exactly what I was thinking when writing that post, or if I was thinking at all >.>. Deleted it to avoid further confusion - I think I need some sleep

Complete BS.
5 days playtime, minimum, to get to 85. IF you know the game, class, etc. well and find and take the most optimal route to get there.
If quicker were possible, all the commercial levelling guides you can buy wouldn't claim to get you to 85 in 5 days, they'd claim to get you to 85 in 2 days.
Ummmm hate to burst your bubble but you are wrong here...... I leveled my warrior to 85, geared him to 353ish gear and had just about 4 days played time at that point. That was with no gold, and a very basic understanding of the class. (I was using a single heirloom axe as FURY until 69 when I could dual wield where I was using 2. But for 68 levels I wasn't even dual wielding as FURY) I still haven't really played him that much so his /played is still under a week (I can provide a screenshot with today's date in the calendar and the /played.) And I'm not even the best leveler..... I regularly alt tab while playing WoW unless its somethign serious, which I don't consider leveling to be serious.
My warrior is:
Tomsawolf@Alexstrasza
A screenshot of the /played with today's date on the calendar:
Screenshot
Incase its a bit unclear it shows: 6 days, 7 hours, 55 minutes, 6 seconds played. 2 days, 13 hours, 28 minutes, 53 seconds of that being at level 85. Which through some fairly simple math you can see: 3 days,18 hours, 26 minutes, 13 seconds was the time it took for me to reach 85. Keep in mind I didn't get artisan flying until past 80 since that was my first ally toon on the realm, I didn't level with any guild perks, and I didn't use any refer a friend. Since you can technically be granted levels up to 80 with refer a friend, I wouldn't be surprised if someone got level 85 in under a day of playtime, since it doesn't even take a day to go 80-85. The one thing you miss though when leveling a new character over keeping your current one are all of its past acheivements, its memories, etc. (Also if you are basing your knowledge off commercial leveling guides; which are scams; you aren't going to have very solid information)

I'd give numerous reasons why this isn't a plausible idea AT THE MOMENT, but in the future, this should, hopefully, happen.

Well here's what I think, not that anyone actually cares.
Server Transfers are yet another way to make money, and Blizzard is fine with that. To find a West Coast Guild that's where you want, I would look at wowprogress.com and search through guilds till you find one that's west coast. It's honestly not that hard, just takes like 30 minutes of your time. If you're too lazy to do that, then how could you possibly be up for 7/7 raiding?
I'm done.

And yet some other games offer it for free. In addition, it's not like the transferring process requires much effort on their end. If they can somehow make it possible, considering how many cross realm barriers have been shattered anyways, it would be great. They should, however, put a cooldown (possibly cumulative to some degree to prevent ninja looters from abusing, etc).
But not now. As I said before, it's not plausible at the moment.

Um....there are free server transfers every couple of months though; a way to move people off of high population servers onto Low pop. But as said, since we do have Death Knights, and they've made it so that you can change Honour to JP, it's not that hard to get a full set of Heirlooms quickly without needing to transfer over. Same goes for gold, as you can just get a pair of collecting professions, look at the AH, find the most expensive of the 1-60 mats, farm the crap out of them, put them up on the AH and profit.
As for the argument: Chill out and take a breather.

What MMO thats worth a damn offers completely free server transfer to any server you want? I cant think of any. Rift limits you to where you can move, and its the same as when Blizz offers free realm xfers, to have people go to lower pop servers.

Rockprime,
Like others have tried to say here in various ways...we get your point. But you are presenting it in the worst way possible, by making it sound like it is somehow Blizzards fault that you are on a bad server (for your personal situation), and that they somehow "owe" you a free transfer. Neither of these are the case.
However, you are correct in that there could be improvements in the way that players are dispersed through the servers. One could also argue that a "one-time" free transfer offer by Blizz to help mix up the population, as well as re-group them, might not be a bad idea at this point in the game.

It's a Catch-22, though, Interest.
You know how it always says it can take up to 5 days to process your transfer request, but these days it rarely takes more than 30 minutes? The 5 days disclaimer was obviously around because, when the system first came out, it required a lot more administration as people flocked to use it. Administrators would have needed to have devoted time to this immediate backlog of requests to ensure that the 5 day maximum could be met.
That problem has been solved, of course, because server transfers are no longer a new thing ... but
free
server transfers would be a new thing, wouldn't they? You'd then get the flurry again. And, this time, the admins stuck working on it would be draining money which Blizzard would not be recouping through the transfer fee.
That's a good point. They could stagger the amount of transfers that are allowed...but then that wouldn't be fair...o.0

Welcome to life. Like it or not. It's how the world works. Even the economy in WoW to an extent.
Money is also the solo reason multiboxers are tolerated. Those 5 shammies that charge down the centre of AV mean that someone is paying roughly $65 too feel bad ass in a BG.

@Roackprime, if you can't discuss your point calmly and without calling anyone else names then I will be more than happy to lock this thread. On this forum it's okay to disagree with people and to address their ideas but it is absolutely not okay to make ad hominem attacks on others and you do not have to invoke the language filter to cross that line.
The question of server transfers is an interesting one and worthy of some discussion so do it in a civilised way so I can let people carry on doing that.
As for a contribution to the thread, I recently levelled a character from 1 to 85 in exactly 3days 0hours /played. This was done with heirlooms but without RAF and, since it was done in under 7days in real life, with practically no rested. This character went from level 1 to
Cataclysmically Epic
in 10days (irl).
My point is that re-rolling isn't so hard (levelling is fun?) and the other games that provide the server transfer service for free do so
because
it's something that Blizzard makes you pay for. They decided that was a good place to offer greater value than Blizzard. Other games need to do that.
