Ridiculous Multi-box monster!

I have been playing this game since ToC 25 was end game content, so I have seen my share of multi boxers, but today I saw something I have never seen before, or even thought possible. Somebody was running with about a dozen linked toons (which is no small feat, but I have seen stuff like that before), but the catch is they were all different classes! How in the world did this guy do this?
Picture 12 or so toons, running in a straight line, and all attacking you at the exact same time. Every instant cast ability hitting you all at once! I was in a small group in Alterac Valley, and, as usual, I went straight for the relief hut. There were about 4 of us (druids and rogues) and this guy comes in looking like a meat train and wipes the floor with us all one by one. Then he works his way back up to the choke point leading to Stormpike graveyard, and obliterated everyone as they tried to come down.
Has anyone seen something like this before? I can deal with the random 3 or 4 chained shammies, but an entire team with all abilities covered? I know Blizz has never really done anything about multi-boxers, but this guy is a game changer! Anyone else ever see this guy, or others like him? What do they use to run these monstrosities?

That's going to take a good 5 or 6 of you working hard to kill him if he's really good.
Yeah, good luck with that in a random BG!

For reasons that are mysterious to a lot of people,
Agreed there, mysterious indeed. They claim it's so you are only doing what one person is able to do, so there is no real advantage....
Have you seen anyone with 40 fingers lately?

A mutant or someone that genetically duplicated their fingers.

Mysterious?
The person is paying for twelve games...
If they were hitting keys on 12 keyboards or alt-tabbing between 12 game instances, there'd be nothing mysterious or untoward. The fact that one keypress is being automatically translated into 12 spellcasts is the part some of us find it mysterious for Blizzard to give their blessing to.
It is no different than a massive macro.
And once again, the sheer amount of money they spend...

Well, in my opinion, there really isn't much wrong with multiboxing. I mean, you ran into a group of 12 friends who play WoW, it would have the same effect (in a BG, you die). Except it's one person. He's still paying for the accounts, setting up the keybinds, and running the game on his PC. When he presses whatever buttons he keybound, he is using the abilities which he chose, and that's it. He isn't making an AI do stuff (like a pet). Again, In BGs, it's not like he takes up 1 space on the team, every character he controls takes up a space. So it's kinda like a BG with 1 or two zerg groups.

Macros are explicitly restricted from translating one keypress into multiple spellcasts (except certain buffs that are off the GCD). Further, Blizzard in general forbids people from using 3rd-party software to get around this restriction. This is precisely what multiboxers do, which is why some of us find it mysterious.
ORly?
What about all those DKs that had rune strike macro'd everywhere? What about my execute macro'd to heroic strike?
Technically every spell being cast is on a seperate GCD. Soooo....

Both Rune Strike and Heroic Strike are on-next-swing attacks, replacing the players next auto attack. They are not instant attacks, and that is what makes them exempt from the gcd and being able to be grouped with other attacks in macros.
Heroic strike is an instant attack.
