If the Pandaren became playable, would you play one?

minad has spoken. His word is law.
But seriously, Tauren = Bull!
WoW needs some cute fluffy bears that spread love and joy to all of the Azerothian races. <3
Then Pandarens aren't the choice for that lol, as they are a military race as well, same as all of the warrior races of Azeroth.

I still want to be a Kobold.
Always been one of my favorite D&D races...

Nah, they'll be like that....well more then likely.

And only the males flail wildly. The females are more delecit.
Umm... what? Have you seen the female worgen healy animation? They flail awkwardly while their head rolls all over the place.
OT it would depend, like someone else said, on how they actually look/act in-game. I was really excited to play a worgen, but now won't touch one. Animations aside, the much derided obnoxious snorting sound they do and their constant roaring while mounted also ruined them for me.
I'd only be able to handle them as a druid, but I've already got my tauren druid and I'm not rolling another one just because I can't stand any other class for that race.
So yeah, I'd roll a Pandaren to see their starting stuff, but beyond that would have to depend on what they're like to play.

You could just make your worgen melee...
I don't notice anything awkward about the female animation. They actually click for me a lot better than a lot of races.

Even Melee the Worgen of both genders flail.

Again it's all down to personal preference, Atik likes the female worgen casts, I don't, and I've got to agree on the melee front too. I'm not a fan of the 2H overhead chop animations in general, and I think the male worgen one is the worst as they do that little hop backwards after. For other melee it's more 'meh' to me, nothing positive to offset the negatives.
All of which is moot for the other reasons I listed about the continual obnoxious (to me) noises they make, which makes how I feel about their animations largely irrelevant anyway. And yes, people can say don't play with the game sound on (or are surprised that I even do to begin with) but I'm one of those people who, when I'm playing a game, I want to listen to the game, except the new EPL/Felwood music. (bwa bwa Bwa BWAAAAAAAAA!)
So yeah, for me it's down to how they look/interact/move/sound in game rater then the pandaren themselves. For example if their idle animation is to stand and rub their panda tummies, I'm rolling one asap.

Meh, I mostly ignore the worgen sounds.

I don't think they would add a panda race, it verges on silly and it would detract a lot from the rp aspect of the game. I wouldn't play it myself and I bet a lot of people who said yes only meant as an alt =) pandas are too mainstream.
Um...how are the Pandarens any sillier then Worgens, Tauren, Goblins, Gnomes, Draenei and Trolls?

Hey, to each their own, go with what works. Plus weird things bug me. I won't play undead because it annoys me that their toenails poke through whatever shoes they are wearing. What good are my plate boots if toenails go through them like hot butter?

For being too silly, Warcraft is definitely not above adding a little humor to the game. Goblins have a lot of comic relief and a fair amount of their starting experience is pretty silly. Even aside from that there's plenty of slapstick, random, and toilet humor in WoW already (a certain early Alliance quest in Grizzly Hills involving pooping out some nuts you ate and then placing them back in the food bucket comes to mind) and I don't think Pandaren are really anything 'above and beyond' what we've already got.
As for too mainstream, well, worgen aren't 'technically' werewolves... but they are. So yeah.

I still find the entire thing really strange: There has been a bear person race in WoW since the start; the Furbolgs after all.

I don't like them either...
And they're more like badgers anyway.

You may think they look like badgers(I don't think you've ever seen a real one if you really think that), but the Furbolgs are a cousin to the Pandarens.

^Looks like a Furbolg to me.
Admittedly, I believe that makes sense. As, I believe, badgers are related to raccoons; and by extension pandas.

That looks nothing like a Badger.
And,
INCORRECT!
; badgers having nothing to do with raccoons.

Or we're all taking this entirely the wrong way, and the new race in Mists of Pandaria will be strange Mist creatures.
