I had a clear understanding about headlines being a way of giving a very short but still quite unique description of the contents it holds, making it easier to find what you are looking for, and not having create categories that would branch out 100 folds.
One thing I would like to see improved, would be the interface and the buttons functionality in the guide writer. A feature that could divide the code into blocks, just like you do with a ToC or a TAB. My guides are covering several pages now, and it can be quite annoying with the constant scrolling to the end of the document.
It seems there are being worked on the buttons, so looking forward to see how its going to work.
I have learned quite much this year.I don't use anything else than the compendium and the templates I made. Does take a bit longer though.

I'm trying to use the tag in my guide, but it works only with weapons, not with armor type items.
Is this intended?
An item guide that could show only some models and a link for others would not be that great :|
Thanks

Have you verified that the slot number matches the gear slot?
Guide Writing for Dummies
has a section on models (down in the images section) that might help, as it includes not only an explanation of using models but also a quick reference for the slot numbers.
Also, make sure you're using the
displayID
and not the
itemID
for the item number. Again, this is covered in the guide and may be of assistance.

Already checked there, display id is correct and slot n° also correct, I was trying to show the model of a cloak (slot 16)
It does not work
Using a weapon in main hand slot (13) instead work correctly

Whenever I edit my guide and press save, the entire site freezes. I need to shut it down and reopen it. The guide does get saved though, so I'm not sure if this is on my end or yours :-)

We haven't had other reports of this and I can't replicate it myself. As a good first thing to try when you encounter any kind of bug, could you try disabling all browser addons/extensions (specifically ad blockers and script blockers) and clearing your browser's cache (shift+f5 and ctrl+f5 on Windows browsers and alt+cmd+e on Mac Safari).
If that doesn't work then some information on your browser and OS version could be useful.

I love doing guides!
The only thing I wish was available was class specific guides. If you notice, the "other" guides are just packed with miscellaneous class guides.
All the Class guides are in the Classes section. I don't understand the concern.
Cheers.

I've read Neutronimity's post in this thread on maps (ty to Asakawa for linking it), but one thing still eludes me: The "change floor" button that you
normally see
- how do we get that button in a guide? When I write the map commands I can show the different sections as per your post, but I'd really like the user to be able to choose section rather than me showing them all.
I'm curious about the same - I'd love to be able to include a single map of a multi-floor/phase area and have the "Change Floor..." button appear to let you choose which to view. At present, the best I can do is make a string of maps showing each floor, which is obviously not ideal.

Interactive elements like buttons are not available in guides.
I would suggest using tabs or togglers so that the content is hidden until clicked.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Ah, a little disappointing but certainly good to know, thank you!

I've got one request - comment tag. When writing a long guide with lot of structures like tables and togglers, in some point it's getting a bit uncomfortable to edit such guide in simple text area. So, maybe adding something like this?
####################TABLES WITH SCREENSHOTS################
...
content
###################ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS#############
blabalabla
It should works like comments in any programming language - always visible during editing guide, never visible when reading guide. This will help organize guides structures (would help me ;))

I've asked for something similar in the past but there are workarounds.
********** First example *********
############### comment here ##################\
This achieves the same thing
...as does this.
Unfortunately, while the \ method is probably the most apt, it automatically removes the whitespace directly after it, requiring a \ to correct. It also takes longer to type each time. Thus, I would suggest the \ method, the only weakness being that you can't use that to "comment out" anything with actual \s in it.

@asakawa - thank You for answer ;) I've figure out the div workaround, although I didn't really want to use it, because... Well, it is a workaround :) it's like in any other system - you implement temporary hack, and - hey! - after two or three years it's integral, basic and absolutely nonremovable part of the system ;) anyway - it is good to know that at the moment such hacks are the only way, to "comment" guides code.
