EDIT #4: Colors at what top?
what that supposed to mean?
Post by
Axyn80
what that supposed to mean?
I have no idea where the colors were found, I just experimented a bit and got the colors I wanted lol...
@asakawa, can you read one of my previous' posts and give me the answers to that? Lemme see if I can quote it here...
3. Icons next to headers. I.e.
asakawa's Warlock Guide
. He's got icons next to his headers that aren't clickable.
4. Just tables. Referencing
asakawa's Warlock Guide
again, he has table borders where when you mouse over them they light up, but at the same time, it's not the table border you'd see from
\
Another example would simply to be toggle the "Formatting Help" below where i'm writing as you write a comment. The background to the table lights up when you mouse over it. How do you get that?

I do my headers with a floated image next to each header so you get:
Header Text
I'd hoped to keep this little trick a secret to give my guides a unique look but someone let the cat out of the bag earlier in this thread already ^_^
the tables are done using "class=grid" in the table's parameters:
...
Regarding the "color" dropdown, I made this quick image to point out the list buttons to someone else but to the right of the red-marked section you'll see the "color" dropdown menu:

Thanks so much, and @kruga, yes, I use internet explorer. That's probably my issue.

Well I think that just about completes it, Thanks to everyone who helped me out with coding, going to review it one last time then submit it in, asakawa, i'll leave your special icon trick for you :D. However, I liked the rest of your format so our guides may look a tiny bit similar in some ways.

Happening to me as well with those examples. Think it's Wowhead messing up as it should work. Guess you'll have to wait for a blue response to find out what that is about.
Thanks for info, thought I messed up with something.
When you select "More" "Map..." it says You can also import full map by pasting a ? maps=...link.
Tried different methods, but can't figure it out how it works.
There is option to make text smaller, but how to make it bigger?))

I actually thought about this one. I'm not quite sure if you can do it, i'm guessing you've already tried \whatever text\ right?
Perhaps \text\?

the maps option in the dropdown refers to the links made from the page
http://www.wowhead.com/maps
. Though it doesn't import pins from that link, just the zone.

Still, how to make it work? What commands have to use, to make it load in guides?

Tried plenty of different methods, large, big, huge, medium, size=20, etc.

I may be missing something myself (that map option is new to me too) but as far as I can tell that really just accepts a zone ID.

How did you add icons in forums signature? Can't figure it out at the moment.

That's a moderator thing, sorry >.<

Speaking of moderator things, it would be awesome if we could use the guide tags in our personal profiles too. <3
Except for images and videos probably, because those would have to be moderated.

Gotta agree with Thror there, that'd be epic.

It was funny to me because I had just posted two threads with my two "guides" at the time and one was locked because someone thought it looked like a blog. Luckily I was able to get it unlocked so I could at least keep the formatting and update the Molten Front guide as I completed it. Only a few days later...
GUIDES
.
Excellent feature in my opinion. Though I do see some getting approved that honestly I feel should require more work before being approved, but I guess that's where the rating system comes in. Though it seems people aren't readily rating the guides... When it was 10 stars, that was far more difficult, with 5 stars it's simpler to think
"Nothing wrong here, everything looks great, too!" ─► 5 stars.
But when a guide hits 5,000 views and has 10 ratings... perhaps there is a better way to get users to rate the content. What incentive do people need to click a rating, but not so much that their rating is dishonest by just spam clicking 1 or 5 stars on every guide?
Also, as
Thror
mentioned, having the formatting available on the user page would be neat as well. Oh and those progress bars... I thought those were sweet when I saw them on someone's profile page once, but obviously, they were a mod-only or admin-only thing and I was thus saddened. Ah, I found her, it was
PoeticDragon
's page and she "blatantly stole" the formatting from
technobrat
whose profile now looks ridiculous since something behind the scenes has changed... he/she used to have cool progress bars everywhere :( I didn't see progress bars in the formatting guide either... but it seems they work in guides. I'll post over there to get them added :D

Alright, so recently in my comments section of my guide a user posted that BM was a viable raiding spec. I've been researching this for the past 2 hours now, and still continuing, and am wanting to post my results in the comments section, perhaps leading to a completely new section of my guide. However, my comments section of my guide seems to have disappeared. Is my browser (Internet Exploder) acting up again? Or is there something wrong with the Wowhead's Guide comment section coding? I think I read a post about this happening to another user as well.
