I have a large amount of questions, so it'd be fantastic if I could talk to someone (preferably private so we don't clutter up this thread) about some coding. Great to hear back from any experienced wowhead coder soon.
Check my user page, you can find how to contact me in private. Hope I'll have answers to your questions.

A minor suggestion:
After publishing and then editing a guide, and saving changes, you are kept on the editing page. There doesn't seem to be any link back to the guide itself, to take a final look before finishing. you have to go to guides > my guides > published guide. It's not a major inconvenience, but a link would be nice.

@Axyn80, Kruga mentions the perfect thread for discussion on formatting and there's also
this thread
which is just a guide to some of the lesser known formatting options (I've been adding guide writers' stuff at the bottom of the guide).
Good luck with your guide and let me/us know if there's anything we can help with.

@Kruga, I would, but I think the length of my post would be too much to read, and the response required would be quite long as well. Check my user page, you can find how to contact me in private. Hope I'll have answers to your questions. How experienced are you? I guess i'm not looking for things incredibly complex.
And @asakawa, i've read the your ENTIRE post. Certain things still elude me, although it was an amazing amount of help tyvm.

Is there going to be an easy way to monitor new guides? As oppose to going through all the sub-categories and looking for a new one.

There is a "NEW" in a blue star at the beginning of the guide name to indicate it's new.

Well, those points that you're not understanding are because I've not explained them well enough so I'd really appreciate you telling me what isn't clear so I can make it better ^_^(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

All guides are subjects to approval process by the Staff. We could outright reject a guide that we find completely useless or redundant, but if there is some potential in the write-up, we could approve it, post it, and let the comments speak for themselves.
Looking at the
Frost DK guide
the threshold to get approved seems to be rather low. The only improvement to that guide would be a complete rewrite. The user submitted guides is a great idea, but with guides like that you're only damaging Wowhead's excellent reputation.
On a different note, it'd be cool to have a "class" column in the class guides table.

Guide approval process is, indeed, quick and simple. If there is some potential in the write-up, we approve it and let the community decide how good/bad the entire thing actually is. That's what we have ratings for :)

I'd be happy to, maybe you could help me out with a bit of the coding errors i'm having.
Also, to the guide creators. One big issue that is annoying me so much. When you go to type something, i hope i can explain this well, when you go to type something that is below the box, like after you type enough code that the scroll bar appears, when the scroll bar appears and you're trying to write more code below the section that you can see, it keeps jumping back up to the top. If I couldn't remember exactly what the code was, it would take me forever to have to keep scrolling back down
every single time
. If you don't understand what I mean, i'm quite sorry, it's a bit hard to explain.
EDIT: The guide is pretty much complete. Just need a few things helped out with some coding. I think I figured out one of them now...
EDIT #2: Are anchors working? Mine were fine yesterday... having trouble with them now.

asakawa
I've got anchors working in my guides.
\ and \ tags create anchors automatically - the text of the heading becomes the anchor (with spaces replaced with hyphens). So if you have a heading \My Heading you will automatically have an anchor \
Alternatively of course just using \ should work perfectly well.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Return question, how to measure experience in this?

Having problems with map pins, hope someone can help to resolve it.
The map is loading, but there are no visible pins there.
2nd issue, but reversed, see the pin but not the actual map
Only saw these problems on particular maps, others are working fine.
Edit: having problems with Twilight Highlands now also, when I use map only it shows, but when adding pins to it, it just goes black. In orgrimmar there atleast was pin showing, but here, no map no pins.

The comments still appear glitchy. Even when I reach a guide through my profile by clicking on a comment I made on that guide, it still keeps telling me that no comments have been posted.

Ok, well I think i've narrowed my questions down into about 3-4 questions left.
1. Anchors still not working, i'm using code as the following:
\
\
and then later down
\\Click to return to top\\
2. This is kind of stupid but I can't seem to find anything about it. How do you change the color of your text? I.e.
Curlymon's Boomkin PvE Guide
. He changes the text color to orange.
3. Icons next to headers. I.e.
asakawa's Warlock Guide
. He's got icons next to his headers that aren't clickable.
4. Just tables. Referencing
asakawa's Warlock Guide
again, he has table borders where when you mouse over them they light up, but at the same time, it's not the table border you'd see from
\
Another example would simply to be toggle the "Formatting Help" below where i'm writing as you write a comment. The background to the table lights up when you mouse over it. How do you get that?

Heres what you'r looking for :
At the top
At places where you need
Table of Contents
About coloring:
A guide for balance druids
the colors are at the top, where all formating buttons are.
About icons that are not clickable:
About table of contents, there is not anything special about that guide, the light-up is working as default, maybe explain better what you had in mind.

So i'm just missing quotes for the anchors, that's good to know, @asakawa, you should clear that up in your BBCode guide. And maybe color might be nice to add as well.
EDIT: I just remembered one more issue i'm having. How do you get an item to show it's rarity? Right now all mine are yellow, but say i wanted
Ebonsteel Belt Buckle
to show that it was a rare quality item, how do i do that?
EDIT #2: Anchors still seem to be failing...
EDIT #3: Ignore edit 2.
EDIT #4: Colors at what top?
