Koper
Mine, Koper, is very very old.
It originated in 2000.. My old name nick was "ShinyMew" (I was 13 at the time) and I frequented a pokemon IRC channel. I then decided to find a better name so I asked in the channel for suggestions, and one of my oldest internet friends - "Carmageddon" suggested Koper. I used it since then.
It later turned out it was also a name of the city, but I think it's purely coincidental and that she didn't know (since we were both italian and the city is known with a different name in italian).
What about your story?

Mine comes from back in the 6th? 7th? grade when me and all the other guys at my age were wrestling constantly, and we all got a wrestlername. I was called Anner (Weird I know) at the time, and wanted to exterminate people, and there you have it.

Lombax
Mine is a reference to the Ratchet & Clank series, I just named a character Lombax a couple of years ago and now I'm actually called it IRL too.
The other one I have, Uggelimugg, is also a reference, but almost no one knows from where it is.

Mine comes from my Halo fan character; A kig-yar shipmaster named Atik'L-Yar.

This spelling is Elhonna, goddess of the woodlands, from 2nd ed. D&D. However, when I picked this name with a different spelling for my first D&D character, way back in jr. high, I think it was because I had read a similar name in a Dragonlance book, and liked it. I have used it a lot in RPG's where you name your character, and it was my first and most played WoW toon, so now i use it for everything.

Well I use either my real name (Kristopher, it's fairly uncommon) or Lawnchair. Lawnchair originated because I always have a habit of naming the smaller races in games after inanimate objects, and on my realm, out of all the ones I tried, Lawnchair was the only one that wasn't taken. Now I find it humorous to call myself Lawnchair in some situations.

That depends on the name; I actually have several that I use around the Internet, depending on the environment.
The one that I use here - Xaratherus - was the name of my first WoW character, a Draenei Paladin (now a Tauren Paladin). My roommate wanted to create a Draenei shaman named Xelototh (which is a reference to a Gamecube game, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem), and I wanted a name that began with a similar sound; Xaratherus came to me while I was falling asleep one night.

I used to play with Legos. After buying a few Star Wars-themed sets I mixed and matched them with a few of my more generic peices and created a character I dubbed "Darth Morec." Ever since then I've used Morec (or some variation thereof) as my go-to pseudo-name of choice.

@ Elhonna: The character you're thinking of is probably Alhana Starbreeze, queen of the Silvanesti elves.
My most used internet handle is FeatherBrained, I began using it when I started playing a little browser game where you make pirate ships and fight them...I love birds and wanted something that people would underestimate..it worked well >:) I've used other names with Feather in the name since and the shortened variation is now an irl nickname as much as I've used it over the last 10 years.
My wowhead name is the same name as my paladin, which was named to be the opposite of my husbands paladin Grumpyscot. All of his characters have Grumpy in the name and I have a few more that are Sweet-something.

Of the minifigure? It would take me a while to dig it out of all of legos (I've got like, two crate-fulls of them).

Mine is a bastardization of the dwarf name Fundin, the father of Balin from the Hobbit (he was killed in the valley outside of Moria during the war of Dwarves and Goblins, iirc).

If we're going for the sparkliest of sparkly x-men, it would have to be White Queen.

About a decade ago, I made the name "Mameman."
MAME, an emulator program, was the motivation behind it.
(What, did you think Interest is my primary internet name? Not yet!)
