"Vengeance of the Void" Fake Leak Discussion

You may have noticed a certain blog we posted on Sunday night (US time) about a fake Blizzard leak describing what was supposed to be the next expansion of WoW - Vengeance of the Void. You can check the
"document" image
or read our
original blog post
if you need to find what the whole thing was about. Unfortunately, the blog's thread derailed horribly and started turning into a more personal and heated discussion between Wowhead and MMO-Champion, so I had to lock the thread. There were some good replies in the original topic, so I would like to offer you a place to continue posting those - here. Feel free to offer us your thoughts on the "leak", your ideas about the next expansion, or your speculations about what this year's big BlizzCon announcement is going to be.
And just a note to anyone planning to troll, flame, insult, post deconstructively, derail, spam, or otherwise attempt to ruin this thread too - moderators will be extra sensitive here, posts will be deleted quickly, and bans will be handed out swiftly.
Happy posting!

The idea was awesome apart from Deadwind pass as a starting zone ,
naga as a playeable race (simply because they don't have feet)
and i could have sworn that the home planet of the ethereals was destroyed by demencius.
Other than that , i really liked it.

One can wish they finally give Naga to The Horde

It seemed to lack a lot to be a whole expansion in itself. While it is, indeed, just loose details - with some rather big holes in it - it did seem quite boring.
Might've just been the "Demon Hunters aren't going to be a class"-thing that tipped me off, but yeah. It would be a great baseline for a melee-based caster (also, in before Death Knights), similar to other suggestions going about with Runeforging. The only minus with this class, as I see it, is that - also - only seems to promote DPS/Tanking, while it would be interesting to see a healing spec. But, with enough creativity, I'm sure they could whip something up.
Nagas and Ethereals? Nah... not buying that one. While I don't really know what other classes could be up, these doesn't really seem to be the best candidates. At least not yet.

NAGA WILL HAPPEN, HATERS GONNA HATE

I wanted to say this on the original blog, but it was locked before I could add my 2 cents.
If you take a look at the "Document" there's this line that says :
the burning legion has gained many footholds and made progress
agianst
the draenei
that typo rite there marks the document as suspicious at best, or downright fake at worst.
Bear in mind that professional Memos to intern executives are written by secretaries, people who can foolproof-read a document in seconds and who make sure no redaction errors are present at any point.
This reason alone makes me believe the expansion is fake.
Now about what the next expansion will be like, I think its kinda pointless at this point to do it. I mean, we
ALL
expected the next expansion after WOTLK to be the emerald dream, and yet here comes blizz and drops a bombshell on us with Cataclysm, something that
NOBODY
saw comming.
There are high chances that they will drop a bomb like that again.
Posible candidates for future expansions (excluding unexpected twists from blizz) are:
Emerald dream.
Naz'jatar (Though really, that city would be better suited as a major content patch than a full expac)
Otherworldly plains such as Argus and the Dreadlord planet.
Legion Bastion.
but really, blizz IS capable of surprising us with a full expansion that is set on an unexpected place, such as an expansion set entirely in the past via a new mega portal in the caverns of time, thus the new continents would be kalimdor and eastern kingdoms 80 years in the past for example.
or a new interdimentional menace invading azeroth and we surging to that new world to battle them
or the Titans returning to undo their creations after we've deviated so much from their blueprints, so we invade the phanteon's homeworld to kill the titans.
or really, anything else.
After Cataclysm, I've learned that nothing is certain anymore.

This. Etherals are probably the worst choice for a race, followed by the naga. If anything, I foresee new models and choices for the races than new races (e.g. Being a Wildhammer/Dark Iron/Frost Dwarf or a Taunka for the tauren, etc).

I for one would be disappointed if the next expansion revisits Outlands. I would personally prefer using Caverns of Time to go back to Lordaeron before the plague took hold. But that's really just because Eastern Kingdoms is my favourite continent :-)

The Ethereal thing was the big give away it was fake, since everything already in game tells us their home planet was consumed by the Void, and those we see in Outland/Kara/Northrend are the ones who had already escaped it....so a new 'space ship' of them coming out of nowhere? Yeah.....
But Blizzard has said before they want to revamp Outland and Northrend just like they did Old Azeroth for Cata so....some of what was in that fake document may have been part of that.

Ethereal strike me as "Goblins++"... I don't really see them as meshing too well with the Alliance, and I can just BARELY see them meshing well with the Horde (not that we need another merchant race).
Regarding the document: I do like the names of the zones they picked out. Forge Camp: Victory sounds like it could have some good story content behind it.
Otherwise, I'll wait until we get something from the mouth of Blizz itself, and not hold any hope for things such as this.

While I find the "document" suspicious at best (partly because of what rankkorr said), it
did
come with a few interesting ideas.
Ethereals and Naga as playable races? It seems highly unlikely, but then again, two expansions ago no one would have expected to ever actually play as goblins or even worgen - and look where we are now.
And personally, while I'd like to see Demon Hunters as a playable class, the fact that this "document" states they won't be adds to its credibility, if you ask me.
What
I
would like
to see, though, is "expanded" races - for example, multiple types of, for example, orcs and dwarves, which'd mean we'd get to play Wildhammers and the Mag'har.
Now
that
is something that wouldn't make much sense (not to mention that I have no idea about how to tie that to the Lore) - but I'd like to see it nontheless.
/Wishlist over.

Have they confirmed this is fake, or is it jut players making assumptions based on what they think are holes in the lore?

Fake

It was a little too early anyways >_<
As for the expansion idea, it would've been a bit more convincing if the starting zones were more realistic (lol Deadwind Pass). I do like the idea overall, considering it's an early mock-up.
