It was our 1st try at BWL. Over vent the Raid Leader was explaining the fight. I decided to get a peak at what it would look like. So I summoned my eye of kilrogg and had it go up for a peek. Then it triggered the encounter and there was much screaming and death. Except mine, I knew exactly what had happened and got the hell out of there. The reason this is my favorite memory is that despite the hatred I instantly garnered from 39 other people, is that it taught me so many things. !st and foremost is to be patient and listen when a fight is being explained. The second was that mistakes can be very, very bad. 3rd was that I find bad things happening to other people funny occasionally and should work on correcting that.
While there is many memories I have about my time in WoW, I guess like most I remember my first day of starting WoW, like a lot of the individuals here today. While I was not around for vanilla, i started during Burning Crusade. My very first character was a Dwarf Warrior. I had just started playing on Smolderthorn, coming there to play with the guild I have been playing with over several MMo's since then (at the time transfering from Star Wars Galaxies.) While I never got him to lvl 70, I did manage to get him to at least 56 to be able to experience the character that I have been using since it's creation, my now lvl 85 Death Knight. While i miss my warrior, I am happy I found a class that i found myself easy to play as in it played similarly, but without the constant ganking since it was a PVP server. While we had said goodbye to the server where we found ourselves unable to even consider any of the high end content due to the low Alliance population, I am happy to still have the guild I have been with for well over 6-7 years, and a server that we are able to accomplish more and hopefully we'll see ourselves downing Nef and cho'gall soon :)
There are so many good memories to choose from! ): Still, I would have to say that my fondest memory is (almost) completing the entire Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest line (wowpedia is still down so I can't link to the article). It was a looonnngg reputation grind filled with building several raids for various bosses and world raid areas. I learned so much about Azeroth's past - I can kind of forgive Fandral Staghelm being such a jerk - earned some spiffy rewards (Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops!), and discovered a deep love for Azuregos - even if the dragon's definition of a "minnow" is not even close to what Maws was!In the end, I didn't get the scepter before Cataclysm went live (stupid elementium ingots drop rate /cough) but I wouldn't exchange that time for anything else. My guildmates and I had lots of fun and experienced a portion of the game that few really ever saw.
My favorite moment was 4 years ago when i received WoW Classic as gift from my uncle and i played it for the first time. I was only 14 back then and i couldn't stop playing. Before Cata, every time i was in barrens, the region song made me miss that first moment of wow. Now i don't feel the same :(. Sadly, the game doesn't give me shivers with the same intensity. Back then, the game seemed so big... ahhh... the nostalgia :(
My favorite all time moment in wowhead was back in the day where myself and 2 other friends held off 30 plus alliance scum trying to get past the southern choke point in AV. This only slightly tops being able to beat someone in tagging a kill only to watch them then have to kill it for you. Then like most people corpse camping someone for hours because they went out of their way to earn it. Death to the griefers! Oh yeah and can't forget being able to sit on top the bubble and get a fast start on the flag in EOS or being the first one to the farm in AB. Or even further back being able to keep someone sheeped till the cows come home.So many warm fuzzy memories of wow hard to list just one here. =-)Well that's the lastest sap from Whitey keep looking over your shoulder and watch your back you could be seeing me sooner than you think. With BE love from yours truely,Whitecell
My Favorite moment is actually my first day. I had just created my first Human mage, and was proudly level 5. I was headed down to Goldshrie on the Zul'Jin server, when What did I find, but a lot of people dueling. I dueled one, and they offered 5g, but I only wanted 40s. Why? to buy a Cat. I went to buy the cat, and upon returning, an Undead Rogue named Ulyssed (Or Uly, I forget) was tearing up the place. Naturally, he had a red name, so I attacked. I diad quickly. I then spent the Next Hour hiding behind trees from him, not knowing what a PvP flag was. Best. day. Ever.
I loved when I first started playing, the feeling and immersion was amazing. Now it's too bad that it doesn't feel the same, maybe a new mount or pet to explore with will refresh the feeling ; )
My favorite memory... hmm. There are quite a few. It'll have to be from the beginning, when everything was magical and new. There was a server-wide modeling competition that I won with my stylish Of the Viper set and some other pimptastic items, coupled with my mastery of engineering for a light show to accompany. I got to hang out with all those hordies that I only ever talked to on the realm forums! I won something like 4g.
