My favorite moment was back in vanilla when I tamed my first pet :) It felt so good to have a little friend with me when I lvled :D
Happy Birthday Wowhead! My fondest WoW-related memory was my first Ragnaros kill in classic WoW.Many kills followed, had to get that Perdition's Blade and T2 pants!
My fave WoW memory has to be when i got accepted into the guild DR on my original server. Made lots of memories with them and even they we never made it far in end-game content during vanilla or any exp. pack we still had alot of fun with the content we did do.
My favourite moment would be when I got the Worg Pup from Blackrock Spire, in Patch 4.1. He was SO adorable, not that I didn't already have him, and he nearly gave me a tear in my eye. He was so adorable and fluffy... could cuddle him for hours. I could've cried, but... I'm too brave to do that. He was my top prize alongside Panther Cub on my 85 shaman because:1. He's fluffy. 2. The boss was a rare, but we never know if he's actually rare, so it was actually pretty rewarding to get it.3. He never lets go of my side. Me and my Worg Pup always go on journeys! Here is the story on how it turned out and how it was such a wonderous sight:I was in a Blackrock Spire group, mainly as a healer on my paladin, Level 57 at that time I think. We got to the Quartermaster and killed him... and in delight, I saw the Worg Pup drop, but in shame because I actually thought it drops from Halycon. So yeah, not all of us needed...but not the hunter, and some druid won it, we did another roll, hunter won, and I could have ended up crying in joy because he gave me such an adorable pet. We still go around questing together, and perhaps when I reach 85, raid and do heroics. He is my only memory of that wonderful group. :') Though, I'm really levelling my priest, Ashelina, on horde. (yes, I named it sorta after you Ashelia, but Ashelia was taken on my realm so Ashelina for me :p) But once she's up and running, I'll level my paladin!I will never forget you, random hunter I met in the Random Dungeon Finder who gave me an awesome pet. And if you're reading this right now, random hunter who I met in the Random Dungeon Finder who I don't know, I haven't forgot you. You're still a memory alongside my Worg Pup who you gave me. Note, with the "random hunter who I met in the Random Dungeon Finder who I don't know", I know it sounds rude but dont be tricked by that. I has a halo.Oh and by the way...Happy Anniversary to you,Happy Anniversary to you,Happy Anniversary dear Awesome Wowhead,Happy Anniversary to youuu.Because, its true, you are awesome. /thumbs up!(yes, I just HAD to name it after you Ashelia. *heart*)
Long time reader, first time poster.I've been playing WoW pretty much ever since it came out, though I only started playing on retail a few weeks after WotLK came out.I have plenty of memories both on retail and private, but the ones on private servers are better because back then I had no idea what was going on.Playing as a warlock, at about level 20-30 i was in Kalimdor and wanted to go to EK so i swam across (there was no fatigue on the private server i was playing on). I reached the end of the sea, tried to get across so i jumped and got stuck in mid-air, had to call a friend to come help me out, about 30 mins later, he gets there, he was a warlock as well, so we duelled and he feared me, got me out but then we both got stuck, don't remember how that happened xD. That's when we had the great idea to relog, it zoned us on the other side, close to the shores of westfall, we get to the land and wander around, and we see human npc's, not knowing that they aren't real players we started yelling at them, we ended up going in and killing em. On retail my favorite memory has to be joining a guild(i am still part of) when i around level 20, having trouble killing satyrs in ashenvale for a quest, then having the guildmaster who was in the opposite side of the zone come and help me with the quest.Oh and by the way Happy 5th Anniversary Wowhead! :D
My favorite WoW moment has to be back when my main was a noob, he (a lvl 16 tauren druid at the time) was a huge explorer, and I could spend hours looking for the one spot where climbing a mountain was possible. :D So one day there I was, going about my business in the Barrens. I was doing the quests from Ratchet to go to Northwatch. Now being the person I am, I look for the easiest, least-fighting-required way to get in! (I still do this today ;P) Stealth didn't work, so I started climbing the surrounding mountains with the intent to jump over the fortress walls. :D Now I couldn't quite get the jump right, so I climbed higher.. and higher.. and higher until I could see the other side of the mountain. Ahead of me lay Dustwallow Marsh, a very menacing, dark, evil swamp. Now deciding that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to explore there just yet, I turn around and run back to Northwatch, but I accidentally fell off the cliff into the swamp.. :(The next few moment happened very quickly. First I got a general "Oh %^&*!" feeling, but I didn't fall to my death, luckily. I landed on a cliffside. The scariest part was when half a second later, a previously invisible gigantic spider (who was in stealth, obviously) just materialized out of thin air and instagibbed my poor druid. I was terrified, I hadn't even seen the spider before it killed me! First thing I did was run and retrieve my corpse. Now as soon as I rezzed the first thing I saw was me being in combat. :P Being lvl 16 in Dustwallow Marsh wasn't very easy, and I died countless times trying to find my way back to the barrens, what with crocolisks, giant spiders and murlocs aggroing from half the zone away. :D After this ordeal I was a changed druid, I had seen the terrors hell has to offer and I came through! (Though with a hefty repairbill) I then simply continued my questing experience, all the while knowing what awaits on the other side of the mountains..
The day I completed my Rhok'delar. I was the second to last hunter in the guild to pick up the leaf (damned open rolls), and only one of two to solo all four demons. When that bastard in Winterspring finally keeled over, I stood in shocked disbelief, knowing that I had done it: I was a hunter. The bow is still in my bank, the quiver on my back. I'm still proud of that day.
In vanilla, we were clearing trashes in aq40 and one member of the raid has been impaled far away from the raid. On Teamspeak he just told us "ehm...i see an eye..." and the whole raid has been obliterated by a C'thun chainlightning in a single hit :D
my favorite WoW memory is the first christmas i spent on the game when a friend of mine Hordbain sent me an onyxian whelpling as a present
Completing the Dreadsteed quest on my Warlock with my guild. The rush of a level 60 dungeon... the massive groups around the pillars... the showdown with a great demon dog... and finally using soulshards to keep the implents of the ritual working... the sheer joy when the horse came through the portal. That event will always hold a special place in my heart... and knowing that there are people who are still willing to go out of their way, with no benefit to themselves, just to help out someone else.
