My favorite memory of WoW was taking my Troll Shaman all the way over to Stormwind and just running around having a blast. I hid in Cutthroat Alley where I stumbled upon a few low levels and I accidently punched one out. I fled over to the Cathedral where he greeted me with a perfectly understandable "Greetings, shaman! Welcome to the Cathedral of Light!", then he proceeded cry for help in Common. I hid in the catacombs for a bit then Ghost Wolf'd my way through the city some more before escaping relatively unharmed. It was my first time every actually entering enemy territoroy and it was really fun and exciting for me and will always stay a fond memory.
Ok, the most exciting moment for me had to be when i first realised that you have more abilities than just auto attack. Lol, im not joking either. From level 1 to 10 i would just auto attack. Then i had a great idea to click my now known action bar and use abilities. Now these days, when you make a character you get a handy little starting tool! If only they had one back then.....

There are so many memories I have from this awesome game, having played since the start in 2005 that it's so hard to pick one... but there's one in particular that sticks in my mind.I have a very WoW-loving friend and back in January 2007 we were planning an in game birthday celebration for him in WoW, just outside Orgrimmar, with the "promise of a special guest". We had created an alt called "Thràll", leveled him in secret and kitted him in some nice gear. We were planning to roleplay the Warchief personally commendating my friend and presenting a gift for his birthday for "extended and well performed service for the Horde."Just as we logged in Thràll and we announced the arrival of our secret guest to the party, Highlord Kruul, the world Doomguard Boss, spawned right at the Entrance to Orgrimmar where Thràll was meant to make his entrance, annihilating our mock warchief out of sight of the party and then proceeded to kill all of the partygoers with ease. Our friend didn't really know how to react when it looked like we had arranged for a special guest to gatecrash and kill everyone attending his birthday party, so that took some explaining to do, but once Kruul had left for someplace else, it became a much more fun event than simply having the Warchief over! That's my fondest memory. managing to get Highlord Kruul to appear at my friend's in game birthday party as a secret guest of honour. A small tip though, don't invite him to any more parties, he's not really one for cold talk or idle chatter, and don't get me started on his table manners.
my favorite memory of wow... there are just too many of them. i have enjoyed my wow experience greatly from downing of the bosses to just running around a capital city for hours on end with nothing to do. my favorite by far though has to be when my small group of friends and i decided that we were going to attempt a for the horde in wrath (for the record i started in bc and am not a wrath baby). there were only 7 of us and we are able to do tyrande and velen. granted those were teh easy two but it was still fun. i think we even killed stranglehelm when he was still in darn. it was alot of fun and i will never forget it, especially when the allys cheered us on i thought that was even cooler.
When I started playing WOW, I had never really played video games before. I used to play Mortal Combat during the Super NIntendo days but that was about it. My boyfriend who is an avid WOW player thought it would be something fun to do together (which I'm sure the free rocket mount had nothing to do with it) so he got me signed up. My first few days were awkward and frustrating mainly because of learning controls which were way different than kick, left, left, punch and also getting killed by groups of mobs because I hadn't learned the pull technique yet. However, the incredible artwork, taking rides on hippogryphs where the views were absolutely mesmerizing, and fishing (haha) got me hooked. My favorite memory was when I first went into CONTESTED TERRITORY in Ashenvale. I was so scared that I was going to get ganked by tons of Horde who were just waiting for me because I was a vulnerable newb. Being a Night Elf Druid, I refused to come out of stealth through the first few quests but as I failed to see any Horde I got more comfortable with just using my mount which was sooo much faster. But then, during my first encounter with gurgling murlocs, I got blasted by something I still don't know what and I was stunned! (literally) I couldn't move and at first I thought it was a mob but then I noticed it said level 22 troll! I thought I was going to panic but then i decided I was going to fight back. I chased after the guy because he was skirting around me pretty fast but I finally got in a few swipes but he ultimately won. It was ok though because I discovered the real fun in World of Warcraft. Fighting the Horde! I got my first honorable kill shortly after that and I was super proud of getting the achievement. I also want to thank WOWHEAD. You've made my WOW journey so much easier! I don't know what I would have done without you!
My favorite moment in WoW had to be the first time our guild saw ragnaros. It was the first time anyone in the entire guild had ever witnessed the boss and the scripted event before it, and it was phenomenal. I don't think I could ever forget the nerdy screams over vent when he first popped out of the lava. It was great.
How can one come up with "A favorite memory", there are so many to be had in the vast world of WoW. I guess I would have to say back in BC when our guild was doing "Bear Runs" in ZA. After numerous weeks of ZA, i finally tied a guildie on the roll for the bear, so we had to roll against each other again. He rolled an 18 and I rolled a 19 to win the bear in a hair raising rolloff by 1pt. I was so fricking happy. To date it is still my most cherished mount. I'm glad WoW went back to game play in Cata like it was in BC.
My favorite memory in WoW would have to be in vanilla, when our guild was attempting Nefarian for the first time. At the time I was working for ESPN at Dodger Stadium, and had to work a Friday night game during raid time. I was not about to miss out on the guild first kill of Nefarian, so I logged on in the press box and played while "working." I got more than a few quizzical looks, some of disgust, but i figured what the heck, it only happens once. When Nefarian went down, I let out a little cheer and fist pump, which upset more than a few reporters in the press box, since there is an unwritten rule against cheering. Embarassed, I ducked down in my chair and watched as I became the guild first full-tier 2 member. I will never forget that day...a day I was so dedicated to WoW that I not only played at work and completed my Transcendence set, but also got under the collective skin of the Los Angeles working media. If only the Dodgers had won the game...
i remember back when the game first came out and getting to 60 took 4x longer than it does now. and everyone battling it out at southshore because there wasnt battlegrounds yet. and warriors and priests owned faces all day. good times
