Best memory: Killing Lady Vashj for the first time. My raid had been completely casual during Vanilla, so to pull together and kill one of the big bosses of BC was just MIND-BLOWING. It was especially exciting since my husband and I were raiding together. :) Celebrations included one officer serenading us with Portal's "Still Alive" in a totally dwarven accent. Also, my son may or may not have been conceived that night as a result. >.>
I got into WoW late in the game towards the end of WotLK and remember the first time going into Dalaran. Wow it was just full of people and things i have never seen on the game before. Was a awesome make you say wow moment. I wont forget it at all.
At the start of Cataclysm, my guild consisted of 3 raiders. We managed to build up from that starting point and last Tuesday killed Heroic Nefarian as a 10 man guild which raids 1-2 nights a week. Which also happened to be a server Alliance first. Seeing how far we've come from 3 people who had to PUG over 50% of the raid each week to killing Heroic Nefarian was just a really good feeling.
Best wow memory was when my guild first downed C'Thun after the patch that made him killable. We'd been working on him for 5 solid weeks thinking: "Just a little bit more dps here" or "If he or she hadnt been taken to C'Thun's stomache we probably would have had him down." But we never did till he got nerfed, but it was still so fulfilling killing him after taking so much time dying to him and running back to our bodies that we didnt care how he died, just the fact that he died was enough for us.
There are way too many amazing memories with this game. Although I have many, my favorite would have to be when I first started playing about a week into BC and my friend who introduced me into the game (65 at the time) was helping me get through stranglethorn vale while I was around level 12. He was helping me get to Goldshire because he claimed it was the best leveling spot for someone around my level and now that I think about it, Goldshire was a pretty nice place to start. It had a capital city nearby, the scenery was nice and there plenty of people to help with whatever I needed. Anyways, Stranglethorn Vale was so intimidating at the time, since it wasn't split in two the map of STV itself was huge, all the mobs were skulls to me, the forest was thick and my surroundings made me nervous but I loved every second of it. The trip through STV took a very long time because I had no mount and kept venturing off which resulted in me getting killed multiple times. When we finally made it to Duskwood, I was even more amazed to see such a decrepit Alliance owned territory. I found it ironic but completely fascinating. Then getting to Stormwind was a whole different experience. I had only been to Darnassus because I was a new player and only had a Night Elf Rouge, but Stormwind was captivating. It was your typical immense capital city we've all heard of in the fairytales. I know it seems like I'm over-exaggerating but when you first start to play, the game is truly it's own unexplored world with seemingly endless possibilities. The whole experience was just amazing, the game back then was much more different and vastly more difficult. I know it doesn't compare to vanilla WoW but everything seemed more challenging and rewarding. I miss that and the experiences that I had as a new player.
My favorite wow Memory has to be when I got my first level 80. I was so happy to be able to go to instances with my level 80 guild members and to be able to be a part of like a big project that is an instance. Yes, I may be putting a little to much into this but it meant a lot to me. And I know we can be 85 now but that feeling just wasn't the same as finally being level 80. After being nagged so much that I was only level 69 or only level 75 was finally over. I know I could just be wasting my time making this but I really want that mount. Lol :) Anyways being level 80 meant a lot to me and it was by far the best moment in wow for me. It started a whole new thing that I cant describe. I know I don't have a good memory of vanilla because I was pulled into wow in BC so it wasn't exactly as remarkable. My guild is amazing and I'm so grateful because I can joke with them and just be myself. And that's hard to come by in a game. Who knew I could meet so many great people?
I think my favorite memory is around 6 years ago when I had my trail account and someone showed me how to get on the roof of a building in lakeshire. I took a 6 year break from WoW and I still remember how to get on top. It just shows how great the WoW community is. I still dont know the name of the person who showe me that.
My favorite Wow memory was back in vinalla/Burning Crusade times when i was happy having about 40 gold at level 20, and it was a big deal getting a 100% because they cost soo much so grinding money it was, i'm mostly looking forward to the new item levels from the firelands raid and to progress through it with my guild
My favorite memory was from starting WoW again in Nov. '10 from stopping at patch 1.2.0(Feb '04). I learned that Alliance now sucked compared to Hord. Mounts no longer are restricted to lvl 40 and have different speeds. You can actually FLY! And sadly you can no longer interrupt flying between Fight Masters to get into hard to reach areas. And finally, the abundance of addons that do not crash your UI as the vanilla ones did. And above all else, they had actually kept my characters as is (minus all the talent resets). This is my first and only MMORPG that I have and will ever play. It makes me sad that I ever stopped playing but loosing a letter grade in every college class was a good reason to stop. =)
My favorite memory of WoW was definitely the part where I played with all of my friends. They don't play anymore now. The best part had to have been when we posted ourselves at the front gate of Orgrimmar greeting people coming in and out saying "Welcome to Wal*Mart" and "Have a nice day!" One of my friends pretended he was Loss Prevention on his rogue who chased my other friend who was selling weeds around a corner for gold. I still have screen shots of my friend using sprint and shouting "Stop! Police! Weewoo weewoo!" while he chased the guy who bought the weeds. The guy played along, which was extra funny.
I think my favorite moment was actually being able to get up the side of the mountain in order to see the then restricted/hidden Dun Morogh airstrip. In all it really wasn't worth the effort after seeing it, but the act of accomplishing it was priceless.
My favorite memory in WoW was back in Wrath. My guild and I were progressing through ICC. We initiated the Princes fight and altogether everyone spammed different macros and chanted lines out in Vent, including "My cup runneth over" and "...-Insert item/name/place- was merely a setback". We all had a long laugh together and it dawned on me how close we had all gotten. It was nice to feel that raiding didn't always have to be stressful. We had fun. And, it's always nice to find humor in Blizzard games.
