My favorite moment in wow is when i got my Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. I was farming the mats and getting the quest items for 3 months. It was hard and very frustrating, buy in the end it worth the effort!
My favorite memory of playing WOW was when I was being run through an instance with a guildie and I wanted to make sure he killed everyone because "they were giving good money on looting". I was looting like 2 silver but I was so excited. Now it almost seems like a mute point but it sticks out in my mind.
One of my most valued memories from this game would be obtaining the Dreadsteed through the warlock quest chain. This happened back in 2007 when I was leveling up my warlock to 70. I remember having gathered most of the mats, like the Xorothian Glyph and Stardust which forced me to farm for gold like a maniac (Yeah, i was poor back then). Neither had I any idea that i could get the mats from a warlock who already had done the quest. I was in my mid 60's when I reached the point where I'd have to face Immol'thar and the rest of Dire Maul West. I would soon discover it was still too difficult for me to solo, and ended up looking for someone to help me. Without any luck, I still believe not getting the mount, now that I was so close, was partly responsible for me taking a break from the game for about 4 to 5 months. A friend persuaded me into playing again, telling me he would help me getting my mount. By the time we made it into the instance I had reached level 68 and I had managed to get help with the quest from another warlock on the server. Ironicly, his name was Mymaster. We finally made it to Immol'thar, and grinded the boss down while I casted my dots (Yes, cast time on Corruption - good times). I probably managed to cap about 20 screenshots of the encounter before the dog finally fell dead to the ground. This made it worth playing the game again, it was so thrilling to finally get something i had farmed, grinded and quested for for months. Definitely one of my best memories. That warlock is still my main, and I have been playing on it consistantly ever since I got my mount.
My favorite memory is pretty recent. My daughter and her husband both play WoW as well as her husband's parents who are a decade older then I am. They are always discussing details of Wow and the lore and had tried to get me interested for a LONG time. I resisted until my daughter set up a character for me and made me promise to try it in exchange for a favor I needed from her (she BLACKMAILED me! *grin*). The first character didn't really do much for me, it was a Blood Elf Mage...just didn't hold my interest much. For some reason she convinced me to create my own character and try it, I created a gnome warlock....I ended up getting addicted, had leveled her up to 70 in a little over a month and got REALLY addicted to collecting the companion pets and mounts. My favorite moment came when I finally spent a lot of time and effort getting the Singing Sunflower with my daughter's help and she looked at me and called me a geek which is what I had been calling all of them for some time and admittedly felt a bit excluded from as far as their conversations went. We are now planning family dungeon and raid nights *grin*. Gives me something I can share with my daughter that was originally just an interest of hers and we are now both very interested in :D
While several things have occured to me in wow that are special memories, I would have to say the people who helped or where there in those moments are what made it really special. Getting those hard achievements, having raid moments that make you fall down laughing (hey look someone is afk... lets drag mobs over and kill em! this is known as "jeffing" someone after the first person who did it) are part of what makes this game great and I look forward to more achievements, personal and guild wise, and having these wonderful people in game to share it with.Otherwise, id say a favorite memory is when my IRL bf gave me a wedding ring in wow saying he may not have any money yet, but he was gonna get me a real life wedding ring in the future. =3
I believe my favorite World of Warcraft moment came back in Vanilla WoW when my guild was attempting to kill Onyxia. We had killed her once before and were just gaining confidence as a raiding guild when we ran in to attack. About 12% through phase 1 (which was going quite well, I might add) everyone in the instance (including other guilds doing it at the same time) was instantly ported out of the instance about a mile above Theramore and we all died, floating in mid-air, in a giant column of corpses. The column was about 75 yards tall and was full of about 300 bodies of intrepid raiders. Everyone on TeamSpeak could only laugh through our shock. Needless to say, we could not run back to claim our corpse, and the raid was over. It was such a crazy, fun, frustrating glitch that everyone in the guild still remembers.Zynenhawk (Perenolde server)
My favourite memory must be the first time I entered Molten Core back in 2006. It was my first time ever to enter a raid instance, and I didn't know what to expect.I still remember entering, following the tunnel and seeing those two huge golems blocking the way. It was the most awesome thing I've ever seen at that point, and I couldn't wait for us to start progressing through. I still remember today how it was to actually see 40 people cooperating to kill mobs and bosses in there.
My favorite WoW moment was when I introduced my friends to the game and got to relive my excitement over just how new and incredible the game was through them.
Mine is during a Magister's Terrace run during BC, when we were failing on a particularly difficult trash fight. Everyone in the group but me was dead and 3 mobs remained, and I managed to solo them with enslave demon, seduction and fear. It's my best memory because it's the most fun I remember having in the game.
My favourite memory would have to be when I first started playing in TBC. I didn't really know how to progress with quests and stuff, so I just explored the Orc starting zone as a Orc Shammy. I eventually found the Hidden Path and jumped down to Ratchet. From there, I found the boat to STV and took a ride. I got through so many zones with corpse running before I realized that if I leveled up I wouldn't be so weak. I was level 8ish just from exploring.
My favorite memory has to be when my friend and i decided it was time to get married through WoW. We had mana cakes, fireworks, and even a tux and dress then we stood under the gazebo in SW while a priest married us, and then we exchanged rings. Then we went on our drunken honeymoon to bootybay :3
My favorite memory in WoW wasn't anything specific. I remember a lot of good times, but I've definitely made the best memories with the friends I met over World of Warcraft. The game itself isn't what created my memories, but the moments I had with the people I met on it. If it had to be one memory, I would say it was the first time my new friends and I went out to do a dungeon together. There were four of us and we were wanting to run through Deadmines for fun back at 70. We ran though, but pulled the entire instance to the cannon, where we could pick the lock and we forgot about the powder. As soon as someone got the powder they disconnected and so our plan to kill everything at once was foiled!
