Meta has no direct effect on any pets.

I don't know if its safe to say that already but, I tested my 2 piece t12 bonus today and, it appears that mastery had no effect on my Fiery Imp.
He still hits harder than the Ebon Imp though, having a average mark of 3,8k, which my Ebon Imp as demo hits for an average 0,7k.
The chance of proc is also pretty low, maybe 5%?

I've have seen other posts that agree that demo's mastery do not affect Fiery Imp damage :(
Also, it is indeed a 5% proc -

Well, at least its better than the Ebon Imp, even if its proc chance is lower.

Askawa,
I would like to ask if you might happen to have some examples of how you configure gnosis?

This isn't a good thread to get too deeply into addon configuration but I personally don't do anything particularly interesting with Gnosis. My own cast bar goes with my NeedToKnow bars in the middle of the screen. My target's cast bar goes with my target's unit frame. Pet and focus bars are turned off.
Other than changing the texture and font it's mostly 'out of the box'.

@.@... those pictures you added to the main page are freaking awesome man. Everytime I come back to look at this I can't believe you found something else to add to it. Mind = blown yet again

Thanks ^_^
Some of the submissions to the new guides system on Wowhead were
really
impressive so I had to step it up a notch really.

Did something changed in Firelands, when I wait in front of the raid entrance I like to inspect some random people just for the hell of it. And I have seen quite some people gemming wrong. And not just some scrub either, I am talking people in good guilds doing heroics (
like this one random example
).
Did I miss anything? Did they change stuff? Is it just too small of a difference to matter even for someone 6/7HC? Or are they just doing it wrong?

Well, if we're looking at specific characters we need their specific stat weights so if we sim that character we get:
Int SP Hit Crit Haste Mastery
Scale Factors 2.9957 2.4361 2.3800 1.2515 1.3624 1.6174
And the choices that we're questioning are items like
Balespider's Mantle
.
Previously the advice was only to consider gemming for socket colour if it was a 2socket item with an Int bonus and one red socket. This meant that you could have one gem be Int+stat and not lose any Int - all good!
The item above you stand to lose 10 Int but gain 20 of a yellow stat (that character went for mastery). The stat weights show that Mastery is worth more than half, per-point, that of Int so this
would
be worth doing. Hit is very close to Int so this would almost certainly be worth gemming for even if the socket bonus isn't Int.
In that character's case Haste would not be worth socketing though they have gemmed reckless (Int/Haste) gems a couple of times.
In conclusion, we're getting to gear levels where things can get a bit more fluid but the gains are still incredibly small. I think the general advice to gem for sockets on 2socket items with an Int bonus will still makes a good general rule to follow but min/maxers will want to start simming their characters regularly and looking for variations in stat weights.

Hmm ok, and how do I get those scale factors for my own character?

MAGIC! ^_^

Well yeah, but I am pretty at a loss when it comes to that program.
I just simulated my character but I can't seem to find any stat weights.
Edit: Ah found it, options > scaling > check boxes
