Love the names, Chaos. Some good bands in there, not very well known except maybe Hammerfall. (I'm listening to Rakoth right now, you reminded me of them, I haven't listened to them in years.)
On my old account, before I started with the whole Blød-theme, had some more band references in it (this was my first account in TBC).
Nathrakh
- my first hunter named after the band
Anaal Nathrakh
, a British grind/black metal band.
Hexen
- my old priest that never made it passed lvl 20 or so, named after the Satanic, symphonic black metal band from Jerusalem (lol),
Bishop of Hexen
.
Dødheimsgard
- my first druid, named after the band
Dødheimsgard
, a Norwegian black metal band. The name translates to Realm of Death. Their old stuff is much better than the new IMO.
Demilich
- my warlock that never made it passed 30 or so, named after the Finnish death metal band of the
same name
. They got the name from D&D. I saw them in L.A. on their last tour back in 2006 just before they split up.
I also made a guild with a buddy of mine called
<The Ghouls of Creepsylvania>
which we named after a band called
Ghoul
. They have a whole huge back story about how they are from a country called Creepsylvania with a surprising amount of lore to go with it. I've seen them live a few times and they are an absolute crack-up. Always in character through out the entire show.
That same buddy had a rogue named
Dissector
- one of the member's stage names in Ghoul, it's now his priest's name.
Then, after not one person caught the reference on the guild name, and constantly made fun of it, we made another guild called
<None So Vile>
. It's named after the second album by the Canadian band
Cryptopsy
.
My forum name is named after the band,
Ex Dementia
,
a band I used to play with.
Edit, by that I mean we played a show with them, and used to "jam" with. Just read back over it and it sounded like I was in the band.

I tend to name my characters after bands or song names.
Sonata: My original NE priest on Hellscream. Named after the band
Sonata Arctica
. She healed through Vanilla raids up until the beginning of Wrath. I loved this name. When I server changed, someone already took it. I was so annoyed about it that I name changed to
Øbituary
(I figured Ø would annoy people. I was right.) and race changed to a gnome. A deadly gnome shadow priest named Øbituary? Quiver in fear!
Roija: Human rogue, named after the song
Black Roija by Kalmah
.
Kalmah: Worgen druid, see youtube link for Roija. Wicked band brah
Satyricon: Human hunter, currently leveling.
One of their songs.
All of my hunters pets have names that correlate to one of their tunes.
Moonsorrow: NE mage, my next alt.
This song is awesome.
I really love being in a pug through dungeon finder and someone recognizing the band my toon is named after. <3
Woot for good music!
Moonsorrow is freaking amazing, and put on a great show. I saw them with Finntroll. I have all their albums now as of this weekend.
Satyricon (Mother North is amazing) and Kalmah are good, never really got into Sonata Arctica though.
I've been wanting to see Obituary live since I was just a wee lad just getting into death metal. The Cause of Death album never really gets old.

They pretty much fail when put up to literal translation, but that's not really the point ;)
I know they don't totally make sense when you look at them critically, I even said so. :)
Also, the band Enslaved didn't put the "ø" in
Blodhemn
for their album, I added that because the name was taken on my server.
Oh lawd. I totally overlooked that one. Dang it. I need to start reading the posts instead of trying to show off how awesome Norwegian are. Sorry!
Oh well. At least we both agree that Norway is right for you :P

Zokudu
Lets see. Zokudu is like my internet persona. Its my user name almost everywhere I honestly face smashed a keyboard when I was 14 to get it.
Anathemize came from the term Anathema which means outcast or pariah so Anathemize is a bastardized verb form to mean being distant or aloof (I guess at least thats what it was in my head)
Silentwind fit with the whole tauren native american naming yourself after things thing. ie Bloodhoof ThunderBluff
Apertium is my level 60 paladin. Named after an open source translation platform because he was my first Alliance character. (It made sense in my head >.>)
I also have a druid i am leveling named Aptitude I chose the name from the apt front end in Linux but its a pretty common word I just think it sounds cool.

I have a couple of lower-level characters I can throw in here as well:
Beiskaldi
: This is my female Blood Elf Priest bank alt; she'll eventually be replaced by a Forsaken with the same name. From what I can remember, it's a Norse word commonly translated as "gripe, nag, or b**ch".
Tozurk
: This is my PvP-leveling Goblin Hunter. I couldn't come up with a good Goblin-esque name, so I went onto the web and found a
Goblin name generator
. The word I put in to have translated was clever and appropriate for a Hunter - and I have no idea what it was now. >.<
Albrekt
: Although he'll be re-rolled shortly, this is currently a Worgen Hunter on my old Alliance server. Anyone who has ever seen White Wolf's Werewolf: the Apocalpyse will understand this name, and why it's on a Worgen. :)

I saw Moonsorrow with Finntroll as well :D I've personally seen Finntroll 4 times, each time with different openers. They awesome every time.
Kalmah I've seen twice, both times in small venues (not huge here in Canada).
Sonata Arctica... I was really into them at one point. After Unia was released, I stopped paying attention.
I'll be going to Heavy TO which is a two day music thingy in Toronto. First time they've had it here. Opeth, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Motorhead, Mastodon, Exodus, and a bunch of other bands will be there. I can't wait. :D
ohay brah
We should be friends.
