Deadwind Pass is my favorite zone. I feel like it's the only zone with a fully consistent atmosphere (a cool atmosphere at that), and it has some fantastic lore in it.
Grizzly Hills. The whole environment is pretty calm, not too much torn by warfare or disaster. The background music is wonderful, a bit of Celtic style. Doing quest in this zone is very enjoyable!Site note, second best to me is Feralas. The feeling of lament ! Background music is awesome too!
My favourite zone is probably Nagrand in outland. I just love the way it's a lush, green plain area in the same area as the unforgiving region of the hellfire peninsula. I also really like how calm it looks with all the floating islands and the lovely blue sky. The Isaac Newton Easter egg made me laugh quite a bit when I found it as well.
I would have to say my fav area is Stonetallon Mountains. That end of the quest chain Where MIGHTY Garrosh comes out of the portal and explains his views and actions before dismissing Overlord Krom'gar. That was a turning point of my views of Garrosh.
Winterspring has always been my favorite. I find the atmosphere oh the area very relaxing.
Pre-Shattering, it was Ashenvale. I loved the music, the zone looked beautiful, and the quests were filled with rich lore about horde history. I sometimes just ran around there, only to relax after a particularly messy PuG or a bad day in general. Loved it!However, my all-time favourite zone is *drumroll* VASH'JIR!The entire color theme is fantastic, the quests were so damned fun that I wish I could retroactively abandon them all on my main only to do them over and over and over and...yeah, you get the point. Whenever I am not doing something important, I go to Vash'Jir, only to cruise around on my seahorse and be amazed at how staggeringly beautiful the place is. Of course, it also helps that my biggest dream from Vanilla through Wrath of The Lich King was an underwater zone to frolick in ^^Anyway, my 2c =)
MY favorite zone is Howling Fjord. I think I'd like to retire there. Something about the mix between forest and ice, the vikings, er, Vrykul, and the Tuskarr I just love.
Favorite zone is definitely uldum. Loved the quest line on my way to 85, spent countless hours farming whiptails, got smoldered by deathwing a few times and now I'm searching for my mysterious camel figurines. It's all there and it has a fun Egyptian feel to it.
My favorite zone is, oddly enough, Silithus. I've always loved the lore behind the Old Gods, and the zone is chock full of it. It also had the single most epic questline in the game- the quest for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands. From the shifting crystal deserts, to the camps of mad Twilight's Hammer cultists, to the mindless hives of the Quiraji, the zone is one I'll never mind coming back to.
My favorite zone has to be without a doubt the Isle Of Quel'Danas. It just reeks of awesome. Not only is it full of the most Blood Elf NPC's outside of Silvermoon (should be renamed to Goldenmoon or something..) but it houses two of the best Instances ever made by Blizzard and some of the best gear. WoW just wouldnt be the same without the Sunwell Plateau or the Magisters Terrace. Thanks Blizzard for the memories 'Tempest Keep was merely a set back!'
Favorite zone... so hard to say. My gut says Azshara post Cata because of the Rocket Track! WOOOO! Close 2nd is Nagrand... so purty.
Gotta say Tanaris has always been a favorite zone, and now linking that in with Uldum. The zone always had a mysterious edge and tension, what with the extreme forces of Ogres, Natives, Trolls, Goblins and the alien Silithid presence. Fun to romp around there.
My favorite would have to be Mount Hygal. Every single one of my 85's have done the whole zone. I love the phasing, the quests, the massive amounts of herbs and minerals, and the finale. I thought it was a blast as I was either freeing the king wolf spirit, swiftly taking down twilight cultists on my jousting flying mount, or battling ragnaros with some legendary characters. A zone I will never forget and would do over and over again.
