Duskwood, both pre- and post-shattering. It's incredibly atmospheric, spine-chilling, and the stories behind the quests are nothing to shake a stick at. I remember the very first time i entered Duskwood on my elf druid, i took a look around, got one-shotted by the abomination and didn't dare go near the zone again untill i was 60. There's also the portal to the emerald nightmare smack dab in the middle of the zone, and even a quest of the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline takes part there. I love Duskwood!

My favorite zone is.. Blasted lands. Yep, blasted lands. As weird as that may sound, I've spent so much time in it in my newbie days solely because there are about 10 rare mobs that spawned there, the quests were grindtastic, which i loved back in the day, and the dreanethyst spheres and fragments, i just wanted to collect them and i always kept my fingers crossed for that draenethyst sphere to complete my quest... Plus it's got all that evil-place style. When typing this, it sounds weiird because it used to be the most dead zone in wow i think haha.
Another favorite zone of mine is Gilneas. The team really did a great job on the entire zone-- it's too bad we can only really use it on new characters (so far).
I personally love Zangarmarsh. The colors, the atmosphere, the sounds... all of it.
My favorite zone is the Barrens. I've never had a dull moment there leveling thanks to general chat.
Icecrown because to me it felt so epic with the whole fighting towards icecrown citadel and then the toc dailys were fun as well.
Loch Modan, pre Cataclysm. The views of the sun reflecting on the lake were just AMAZING! Loch Modan
My favorite zone would have to be the wonderful floating city of Dalaran. The background story leading up to what it is now, to the beautiful architecture of the city's buildings. Simply just an awesome experience for me in game everytime I haev to go there.
This is a hard one for me. It's toss up between Stranglethorn Vale pre shattering, Nagrand and Uldum. While I like the quests, theme and sandy/Egypt look of Uldum I think I'll rule that one out. Simply because it, like Icecrown before it, feels soo designed around flying mounts (Not a bad thing now we only use flying mounts, I just prefer ground mount zones) 3. UldumNow it's between STV pre shattering and Nagrand. And it's close one, but on a second place I will put Nagrand. I looove the zone, I'm so much into the bright sunny look of the place, hell I'm even one of the those persons who likes the nessingwary quests there and the connection to STV from it. I've played both Alliance and Horde and both had a fantastic trip through the sunny roads of Nagrand, great quests. However it looses due to 3 small things. No Troll connection like STV, I'm really into Trolls I must admit :P, No Booty Bay and simply not the same sense of nostalgia.2. Nagrand.I'm not a lore buff at all, but damn do I like Trolls and when I first cruised through Stranglethorn Vale "many years" ago on my first character - a night elf! Gasp indeed! I felt, not only because of the troll "outposts", that this must have been where the trolls lived. I was a huge noob back then and while I at least knew that there were different Troll tribes I knew very little. But I did feel the connection here.Other than I liked many of the quests here, some more than other. Again the Nessingwary quests get a mention, Nessigwary is awesome. And again I liked both the Alliance and the Horde quests here (some like the water elemental bracers quest not so much though)The jungle look, the tigers the panthers, gorillas roaming in the jungle, the beautiful coast and much more was just awesome. One thing still stands out however.Booty Bay. Fishing contests, Goblins, a then new discovery of a neutral AH, Pirates, strange giant on an island a little of the shore and the statue there, the feel of the inn and last but not least, that Troll standing close to the Inn wearing a Voodoo mask. He looked so cool, his voice when you clicked on him was equally cool and I did that alot :P THAT troll made me reroll a Troll. A Troll Rogue who I still play to this day. 1. Stranglethorn Vale pre shattering.Honorable mentions: Darkshore, Ashenvale, Duskwood, Un'goro, Tanaris, Dun Morogh, Searing Gorge, Ghostlands.
My favorite zone would have to be Icecrown without a doubt. I have always enjoyed the enormous amounts of daily quests both on and off the Argent Tournament Grounds; they are fun, creative, and make a ton of gold. I love the Scourge; they are my all-time favorite villain faction in Warcraft. And, what better place to combat them their base of operations? Oh, and the music is bold yet eerie.
My favorite zone would be Desolace, before the shattering ofcourse. This because it was so deserted it really gave you the feeling of a dead wasteland, as what it was as intended so I think. The kodo graveyard is ofcourse awesome. Before I knew wowhead even existed it actually took me hours to find the horde camp here. With its fishing dock, and ofcourse, very close to it Maraudon, one of the best and most beautiful vanilla dungeon in my opinion. And with the ability to get rep for those centaurs this all made this place on of the most authentic in the entire vanilla content i'd say.
