Barrens, so much time leveling characters there, its a fun zone, Mankirk is there, we have Barrens chat, the questing is great.Yeah Barrens.
For me, the best zone would be Mount Hyjal - the atmosphere is excellent, fighting alongside famous lore characters like Malfurion is simply great and there are many cool quests to be experienced (giving a speech in front of cultists, anyone?).
There are so many during each phase of this game, I could care less if this DQ's me from winninganything. I have to put my input here though.Vanilla: Silithus. I started playing about 2 weeks after patch 1.8 hit. The whole idea of both factionscompeting to open the AQ gates was fun!Burning: Terokkar Forest. It held lots of lore and taught me a lot about PvP. ;)Wrath: Grizzly Hills. Again lots of new lore to be learned and the music was great. Plus all that tastysalmon!Cataclysm: Tol Barad. If you're lucky to be on a PvP server, it's heaven! And a goldmine. :DCheers.
My favorite zone was always Shadowmoon Valley. It had the whole demonic atmosphere, massive volcano in the middle, warlocks and doomguards all over, not to mention the great Netherdrakes that you end up riding. And the piece of resistance , the Black Temple , in it's massive size. lingering at the horizon like a giant, taunting players to discover its mysteries .
Hmm... I've had some moments where it's just been a feeling of beauty in Tanaris at night (at least old Tanaris, haven't been there much post-Cata). But I think I'll have to go with Karazhan.
I love Nagrand. Absolutely AMAZING. All the great landscape, flying Islands and the animals, the green grass, the PvP City! Oh god, it's so amazing! If that place was real, i would build a treefort and live there! Nagrand makes the outland lvling experience living! Thank you Blizzard.- Thoendra
Azuremyst. Started playing a month or two after Burning Crusade launched and I chose a Draenei as my first race, so I'm sure first impressions have a lot to do with it. I thought the quests were fun, the atmosphere was perfect, story line good - all in all, a great zone, especially as a way to draw in new characters/players.
I've always loved the old stranglethorns vale. on my 3 first toons i stopped when i finished Stranglethorns vale. just to get a new char there:P love all the surrounding and all the green colors:)and then i quickly fell in love with king bangalash with my Dwarf hunter :D
My favorite zone would have to be Terrokar specifically out beyond the bone wastes, sitting on the floating rocks listening to the zone music and just watching the colors in the sky. I could sit forever just thinking, except my guild knows that spot and knows I hang out there so they like to bother me :PDefinitely still my favorite though it just feels magical and you can forget the world looking out on infinity.
My favorite zone is Nagrad. The most beautiful zone ever created, wide and open plains with waterfalls and such.
My favourite region is "Eastern Plaguelands".Mainly because as an explorer, every time I enter a new zone, I tell myself not to get out of it before having completely discovered every corner of the region, and when I stepped upon the Eastern Plaguelands I was a mere level 55-56 Paladin. It had been tough but extremely exciting and rewarding to reach Stratholme, fighting Undeads 3-4 levels above me.It felt like a real challenge, magnified by the fact that as a Paladin I became really involved in what I was doing. And now. Now that the Argent Dawn has reconquered parts of that tainted land. Now I feel rewarded.
azshara post-shattering because its map is the horde logo, and it has lots of entertaining quests
Walking down the great slope I swung my head around, trying to take it all in; the gigantic trees and lush greenness of this new place was shocking after the deadly bleakness of Tanaris.'Oh, wow! They have water here!' Too much time spent in too much sand made such a simple thing as a pool seem amazing.'Oh, wow! They have dinosaurs here!' I had seen raptors before, sure, but those were like large lizards. Pterrordaxes, Ravasaurs, these guys were more like the "Terrible Lizards" I had read about as a child. One terrible lizard in particular took as much interest in me as I was taking in a shiny patch of red crystals on the ground. The loud pounding got my attention, and the gaping maw of a Tyrant Devilsaur held it for several heart-thumping minutes as I alternately ran, slashed, and healed myself into a long and narrow crevice in the crater wall where I made my final, desperate stand. Slowly chipping away at this terrifying creature's health while waiting for enough of my mana to regenerate for a couple of heals was all I could do. I didn't have the best weapons, you see, but I had recently made the transition to mail armor and was quite grateful for the added protection.Partway through the fight a Druid rode past, then backed up, turned, and parked himself in a front-row seat to what must have been an amusing spectacle. But spectate was all that he did, allowing me to learn my own lesson of caution the hard way. Eight adrenaline-fueled minutes passed. Then - with a final swing of the axe and a boisterous cheer from the Druid - the monster fell and my health was topped off by the largest heal I had ever seen.'So this is Un'Goro, huh?'
My favorite zone would have to be post-Shattering Stonetalon Mountains. That place went from a pretty "meh" leveling zone, to a place I want to level all of my characters. Thanks to Deathwing, that place definitely took at least five levels in Badass.
Tanaris has always been my favorite land. Back in the old days it was really awsome to ride trough the desert with your slow mount and doing quests and returning to a village as a noble hero that completed the quests. It really felt as a real adventure.
